How's the weather? What chance are we saying it'll be on?

It’s just raining. Nothing special. It will be on.

Two sick note centre halves to replace an ever.present, IDIOTS they are just STUPID.  When it comes to ability both.are.netter than Hyam in my my opinion but keeping them on the pitch is a definate issue.

He wasnt a centre back here though.

But either way, even if he does turn (luck rather than judgement as you say) into a Championship capable centre back. We are still short not only there but also then at right back.

Aye, it's the football fan's get out of jail free card, if you're wrong put it down to luck.

Yes he was by time he left and at end of 05/06 season started there in the world cup.

Agree squad depth poor,  but that's not relevant to if he can play centre half.

That's Rudys fault for letting hyam go.

But the original discussion surrounded the fact that Carter has already again seemingly picked up an injury. We have no natural centre backs who are right footed who can play matches consecutively. Its negligence.

We wanted a right back in the summer to compete and signed Alebiosu. We then signed Miller within 24 hours of Brittain leaving. That gave us 2 right backs which is fine. Now they are trying to spin it that we always intended to sign him as a centre back.

Even if it turns out that he plays predominantly at centre back. We are short both there and at right back. Might be able to make do now, early in the season with 1 game a week, we wont as the games mount up.

I am not having that he was signed predominantly to be a centre back. See my above post.

But either way, we are massively short of defenders that can stay fit, due to the clubs negligence.

I agree with everything you've put.

I just hope he might end up capable of performing well, but I agree that wasn't the plan.

Our back 4 is going to end up patched up and different most weeks because of reasons you've put.

I'm sure the Hibs fan who got in contact said Miller played his better football at centre half and Alebiosu was the better right back.

He may have done. (Although its a different ask playing right of a back 3).

But we wanted a right back to compete and signed Alebiosu. We then went ahead with Miller as soon as a fee for Brittain was agreed. Therefore its a safe assumption that he was signed to take his place in the squad at right back.

Either way, we are massively short of reliable defenders.

Just one game and he's back in treatment room. Absolutely unreliable. Failure to sign a proper Hyam replacement is surely going to be costly.

I think he's a PL talent, but his development has been blighted by injuries.

What a crock.

For me you just simply can't afford to lose ohashis work rate

I don't think he brings enough to the table as a loan striker - and the lad on the bench scored two against France!!

Carter is actually just a back up defender because of his constant fitness niggles but we all already knew that really didn't we.

Funny how the 'experts' in charge didn't.

No doubting his ability but it is what it is.

A lot resting on Miller now lets hope he can step up.

Huge concern with Carter

So he can't  manage one game a week?  Utterly farcical.

Also makes the Hyam sale look ridiculous without a replacement.

Well who'd have thought it. Get the fuck out of our club Rudy you fucking fraud. You're not fit for purpose, nor you Pasha. Both of you fuck off.

Anyone know of its reliable to get the number 1 bus up from Darwen to Ewood around 2.30 for the game? Wife has the car today... I guess could be risky with crowds/traffic?

(Also how can the train line be so close to ewood but the two nearest stops are an hour walk in one direction and 40 mins in the other??)

Have to say the number 1 up from Darwen is excellent, really quiet, no traffic till close to the ground, keeps you out of the rain. Will do again!

Darwen centre good for pre match pubs too.

Did he not play as centre back at Hibs and Australia before we sign him? As a back 3.

Let's see how he plays first.

He played as a right sided centre back in a back 3 for Hibs (apparently 10 times), and plays right back & right wing back for Australia

Not had much experience as a centre back in a back 4, pretty sure that the defeat to Bradford was his first game playing there

Carter is indeed injured.

Tell me selling Hyam on deadline day, was anything other than financial.

He wanted to live a bit closer to some sheep.

It sows some dedication to having a right footed centreback to play him ahead of McCloughlin.

CB is such a positioning dependent role.. not having experience there and with your partner can be a big challenge. Seen lots of players who are not used to it get lost at sea.
