Not a bad result to say that we played the first half with 9 men, Gudjohnsen & Morishita were completely anonymous and ineffective (tbh that’s probably being generous to TGH, so it was actually more like 8.5 men)

I was sat throughout the first half thinking that, if this is the way that the manager wants us to play - long balls into (and more often than not, over) the front man, then Gueye would be a much better option than either Gudjohnsen or Yuki - I don’t understand why he’s not been given a chance.

And, if I was Cantwell I’d be banging down my agent’s door demanding he get me out of here - he is so far above the rest of the team it’s almost laughable. And I’m not convinced that it’s that he’s improved massively from last season, I think it’s more that the rest of the squad has just got so much worse.

Unfortunately I can’t see anything other than us going down with a whimper this season. I was talking with some dingle mates tonight and I think the only interest this season, for any of us, is which of us gets a lower points total in our respective leagues.

With Gueyes height, he'd be perfect for Millers long throws, if he can improve his game.

Kargbo looked like he was about to cry when he came off the pitch at the end. Also zero celebration when he scored. I know he took some stick for his howler in the week but it seemed a strange reaction.

Dear, oh dear

Sheff Utd haven't won a game this season I believe?

We all know what's going to happen

They've won 1, in Wilder's first game back....but yeah, perfect time to play Charity Rovers.

Plenty of sources out there. Transfermarkt has our down for around 10m euros spend.

Different media sources on line from selling clubs have the reported fees. Etc, etc, etc

For example

Im not going through twitter looking for each one.

Whatever we did or didn't spend how about we ask ourselves why, after spending 'so much', have we deteriorated so much?

Eustace and JDT both had us competing in and around the play offs without spending much. Now after a 'big spend' as you seem to consider it we've dropped into a side that looks nailed on for best case a long struggle against relegation.

Why?

Maybe reported transfer fees is only a very small component of this particularly when selling proven quality for more and slashing wages into League One levels.

Nobody is ‘mixing up’ what you said. You used the words that it was our most ‘expensive’ window in years… it wasn’t. We bought in more than we spent which makes it the fucking opposite of expensive!!

If I go for a night out and win £100 on a fruit machine in the first pub I go to and then spend £70, I’ve not had an ‘expensive’ night have I.

Or if you nick £100 out of a blokes wallet and spend £70 of it, you are up on the deal and have stitched someone up.

Despite Gueye’s height he’s not very good with his head.

It is true we spend the most in a window we have since we signed Armstrong and BBD in the same window. This is true isn't yet people are spinning into something I've never said

Is your a question serious one really JHRover?

You know the answer already.

When you signed a number of overseas players and lose a few experience like Hyam and Travis. You fully expect a drop off in results and performance whilst new players settle in, get used to how we play and what their role is, etc.

Also you factor that certain experience players want to move on would you dont

Celebrating a home draw with Stoke as a good point.

Who is celebrating a draw? No one just you misusing what people have said to suit your own opinion

Sadly it's the world we now live in with cowards hiding behind a pseudonym on social media.

I was angry on Tuesday, not really about him losing the ball but just giving it up and not trying to atone for his mistake. And yesterday I had a little whinge to my family and friends when he came on but I'm so pleased he made me eat my words with his goal and general performance.

Hopefully he will learn from his error.

Chaddy, if we have spent £10m, and bought in £12m, then we gave spent nothing.

Surely you understand that?

I give up to be honest. I wasn't talking about whether we made profit or loss during the last window overall but saying what we spent on INCOMING TRANSFERS!!! YES INCOMING TRANSFERS. Not about the overall transfers profit or loss budget.

So what is your actual point? Everybody knows that these players came in via transfer fees, might have been £10millions worth, we all know that, so what? That proves something or other re the owners? So how does it when the club brought in more than that it sales? They outlayed ZERO, indeed made a profit.

It really doesn’t matter what you spend to be honest. It is the quality that you get for the money

If you think our squad is stronger than last seasons then you’re living in dreamland. Could have been £20m or 20p as far as I am concerned - our quality has decreased massively

I still think there’s a player in Gudjohnson though. He needs better and more consistent service

A stat in isolation is nothing. Wantonly ignoring context is what infuriates people.

You're playing with words to make it sound like we spent a lot of money in the last window chaddy.

We didnt "spend £10m" we ended up with a net surplus of £1 - £2m.

I accept that was still better than what we all expected ie. the top earners would be sold and no money spent at all but we have still sold our higher earners and Alebiosu apart bought in Inferior players on lower wages.

Nail on head.

'Undisclosed fees' should be abolished.

Rovers' signings, IMO, over-hyped with substantial adds-ons unlikely to be needed - for the consumption of our gullible fan base who simply lap it up.

Yeah he responded in absolutely the right way. Kargbo does have something about him. Fast, can strike a ball well, beat players, played a nice through ball yesterday too. Obviously he has also shown himself to run down blind allies, lose control of the ball cheaply, not track back. But as he gets more used to the rhythm he should improve.

We need these gambles to pay off.

I think youve maybe not factored in that a % of the new signings will just prove unsuccessful.

In your head, I suspect all of the new signings will be successful once they bed in, the results so far are just a bedding in period and we will push on once they have settled.

Are there any of the new signings made that you think will turn out to be poor? Just based on first impressions, for example Alebiosu I think we all think will be a good bit of business. Any you think the opposite of?

You said its a good point. A point at home to Stoke leaving us still with less points than games played after a favourable opening run of fixtures and with Coventry away heading up some harder games to come, its not enough.

And yesterday Ismael revealed that Kargbo stood up in the changing room on Tuesday and apologised to the players.
