Lightened up a bit now. I think it is best I remain in the pub until I am sure it has passed mind 🥳

Noticed that the Jack Swan fanzine is free and they had piles left at the railway station when I arrived. A nice surprise!

Were the toilets out of order?

Shall we just give 3 points to Swansea now?

I don't rate VI at all but he's been criminally let down by the recruitment team to the extent that he has to play the kids over them. De Neve and Henriksson simply not good enough. Our Jan signing - Cashin - had such a shocker that he's already been dropped.

Terrible line up today but so few championship standard players to choose from.

Ismael has given up on pretending he’s bothered about getting results. He’ll get a nice fat bonus for giving full league debuts to the kids.

He made the list and he is aligned. He is not our smallest or biggest problem. He is part of THE ONE PROBLEM called Venkys.

Cantwell is an absolute shyster, no way he should be captain

I used to get stick as well last season for suggesting he must have twisted his Alice band when absent as if I was infringing his human rights to be allowed to wear one or something.

When was the last time we didn’t have an injury crisis during the congested schedule and didn’t have a manager begging the club to bring in reinforcements?  I honestly can’t remember anything different than this.

How can it be an "unknown injury"? The Ipswich game was four days ago. How has this conversation gone exactly?

"Sorry boss, I'm injured."

"Where?"

"Not sure."

"Oh OK. Get better soon."

Not the best starting line up we have seen has to be said.

We have a rank poor squad and unfortunately there’s a reliance on academy lads to come and save the day. Let’s hope they can

The bench is worse. De Neve is one of the worst signings we have made; but generally there’s a lack of ability to change the game. Three left backs, two centre backs, an aged midfielder and Henrikson and Dlamini, neither who set the world on fire

Cant believe where we find ourselves after such a promising last 4 years. Suhail and Rudy are disgraces. Guarantee Rudy does not get a job in English football again

I know we often say it but that genuinely has to be the worst bench in at least 3 decades!

2 bog standard left back

A kid who has never even proven himself in the youths

A loan centre half who had a stinker on league debut

A decent enough looking young centre half

An attacking player who has shown zero eye for attacking

So when we are 2-0 down what will we look to do?

That lineup is disgraceful. No cantwell too, but he’s the least of our concerns. There is just no leader on that pitch.

Not sure there’s a leader in the 25 registered players.

You can semi justify that matchday squad in December. We've had TWENTY fucking days to strengthen it! Self sabotage is the only answer.

When is Yuki going to get some consideration from a referee, I wonder. The push at Ipswich was so blatant and obvious it made no sense for the officials to simply blank it. He must wonder what he has done to end up so regularly the target of 'clumsy' (i.e. cynical and intentional) challenges every game, which very rarely result in the game being stopped or anyone being penalised (except of course where the twat in the black gives Yuki the card instead!).

Anyway, when I looked at that teamsheet I wondered for a moment if I'd stumbled into the U21s page on the Rovers website, rather than knowing instantaneously which senior pros were turning out for the cause this evening.

Hiding to nothing, methinks.

Twat em, Rovers.

COYG!

He better be sat on the bench supporting, a joke of a captain!

Three senior LB/LWBs on the bench. One inexperienced youth LWB on the pitch. Why, on both counts?

I know De Neve is shit so no complaints there. But I'd much rather have Pickering or Ribeiro at LWB in a relegation battle even though it's not really their position and they won't create much. Powell better be ready.

And if we are starting Powell, what's the actual point of having three players who can only possibly come on in the same position? With the slight exception of Pickering I guess, who could play on the left of the three, although we already have two left-footed CBs on the bench too.  I suppose there are just so few players available for the bench they might as well be there.

Poor from Cantwell and Alebiosu. If you are 75% fit, which I would guess both are, you simply have to play tonight given this is a winnable game on paper and we have very few senior players available.

Instead, we are staring down the barrel of another loss tonight, comfortably so, and likely a drop into the bottom 3.

Not a fight in this lot, just thinking about their own careers.

Wow, that's pretty horrific

I'm feeling strangely optimistic, a lot more movement up front than in recent weeks, looking forward to seeing Powell in a position where he could excel (wing back)

It wouldn’t surprise me if he sustained a fractured cheekbone on the end of Furlong’s elbow.
I do agree he’s not a galvanising leader though.
