Who decided that Morishita should be our main target this summer, and that Baradji is a really special player?

We are in deep trouble, and even if I flirted with the idea of Rovers being a bit more adventurous in the search for the next manager, I, for a short while, misled myself into believing we could survive with just a bit more passion and energy.

We need a no-nonsense, experienced firefighter coming in, and among those who would consider us, Rowett is probably the best option.

Morishita and Baradji seriously over-hyped signings - I have little doubt Jergensen will fall into the same category.

Agree - watched Rowett on pre match Sky EPL - spoke well and seems pragmatic.

Just seen his post match interview.

Dour and totally uninspiring.

This can't go on any longer.

Sounds like an undertaker. Appropriate really.

Problem is, there are so too many players who can only play if they have a safety net of a defensive spoiler next to them. It’s the reason we don’t score goals, we’re so unbalanced all over the pitch. All boils down to appalling recruitment during the summer

Rowett is probably the only chance we've got now but I'm not sure he'll be able to do it.

The squad is poor, really poor actually.

Someone coming in, getting us organised and solid, trying to nick a winner is about all we've got.

Alright if you must, debate away.

Did the square root of eff all today either offensively or defensively. As is generally the case. Just coasts through games doing next to nothing. Granted not the worst player on the pitch by any means and our options are so limited there's no one any better to come in.

Not what we need in our current situation though either.

It's ok just to say that you don't understand the role of a holding midfielder, we honestly won't judge you.

If the role of a holding midfielder is doing fuck all for 90 mins then he suits it perfectly.

I somehow doubt that's what the role is really meant to entail.

We were looking ok for a point until Mercer lumped on Rovers ! Hopefully, it won’t mean that the good Mrs Mercer doesn’t go without a nice bottle of red tonight 😊

What an awful group of players. Never looked like scoring the whole game.

Why on earth was Carter taken off? Game changed at that point. A centre back pairing of O'Riordan and McLaughlin is lge 1.

I genuinely don't see how we survive relegation this season. There's no goals in the squad and no creativity..

The way West Brom and Leicester are going could save us, both absolutely dire and easily as bad as us.

As a comfort blanket I wish I could go into a rant about how not signing a goal scorer has killed us, screw Gestede, Pasha, Venkys etc. Harry Kane isn't scoring with that lack of creativity today. Woeful!!!

They have far better players than we do. We have nothing.

I'm giving O Riordan 1/10 in the POTM. and that's generous.

And McGloughlan, the way those 2 combined for their first goal sums up everything about this team. Not for the first time O’Riordan heads a ‘clearance’ straight to the opposition striker, then McGloughlan made sure he kept out of the way of the shot and turned his back. Even Cantwell looked furious at him for that. If Cantwell thinks you should have shown more fight for the cause, you shouldn’t be on the pitch. I wouldn’t play McGloughlan especially again after witnessing that…….. I’m sure one of Rovers WFC centre backs would have more steel.

What I learnt at 14. Headed clearance if you’re under pressure. Head it wide and head it long. If you can’t do that head it high so you can get underneath it and go again.

Cantwell needless yellow so he misses next game, not that it matters now.

That’s one positive then.

We know that none of our strikers can play up front on their own, how the coaching staff can’t see that is a mystery. They’re just not enough of a threat. Whatever system we play in it must incorporate two strikers. Take your pick of the two but Ohashi and Gudjohnsen seemed to worked together quite well previously.

in midfield we can’t play Cantwell, Baradji and Morishita in the same team. It’s obvious. If we’re playing 4 at the back we need Tronstad and one of Forshaw, Montgomery or Hickman along side him.

Agreed.

So some lateral thinking needed I think with this squad to survive.

1. 2 up top, Gud + ? Maybe Baradji (for pace, early ball), Jorgensen or Yuki

2. Tron, HIckman/Forshaw in midfield

3. Would consider getting Pickering into the side

Really lateral.

1. Miller up top with 2 behind. Yes I know but....keep it simple, get it out wide, get it in early, Miller far, a.n.other near post run. Maybe Baradji with Miller -early balls over the top/channels. Primitive but may be more effective than at present.

2. Throw ins. Miller to take -always men from back up.

3. Set pieces -keep it simple.

                   Toth
Ryan  Carter  MClaug   Cash
            Fors Tron  Hick
      bara       Gud   Miller

                   Toth
        Carter  MClaug   Cash
  ryan     Fors    Tron  Hick   Pick
         bara/GuD     Miller

Relegation teams are full of hard luck stories

Exactly, and that's how you know you're going down. There's no points available for coulda/woulda/shoulda.

If ye cannae score, ye dinnae win. And we're just not scoring enough.

Cantwell got 3.4 on the player ratings on the BBC website.  No surprise he was bottom of the pile

He was abysmal. It's a relief that he's suspended for the next two. Then again the potential replacements will be equally ineffective.

League table doesn't really suggest that, at the minute.

They have to try something different at QPR. There are no goals in that system with these players.

Ohashi absolutely has to be dropped. Even as a supporting striker in a two he offers nothing other aimless running. Try Gudjohnsen and Jorgesen with Afolayan wide left. Today there was no ambition to even attempt to score. Crosses from the right wing into an area where Ohashi was outnumbered 4 to 1

Posted earlier - thought McLaughlin was diabolical here.  Yes, poor header from O'Riordan but McLaughlin made no effort to close down the Norwich player and even worse then moved away (to one side showing more of the goal) from the Norwich player and turned his back.  Absolutely pathetic.  A League 1 player at best.

A lot of shit in that team but I'm not sure you can look beyond the 2 centre halves we finished the game with to identify the shittest.

How O'Riordan has become this high up on the list to play after a jobbing stint in a shit team in the relegation zone of L1 (and then the fanfare as 'like a new signing') defies belief - the lad is crap.

18 points needed from 15 games, I'm not sure we can get half that amount.

I've said it all season about McLoughlin, wasn't confident in the summer either.

Another cheap signing costing us goals and games weekly.
