Dunn's out injured for a month.

That's a similar headline to "Trouble in Middle East"; "Frenchman piddles in street", or "AESF chunters on".

You could leave the planet for 6 months, come back and see that and think that nothing's changed!

Heh Heh, nice one. Not laughing at Dunny, starting to feel a bit sorry for him. I am beginning to think more and more this Savage move will not happen. Brum seem to be standing firm and if we have any sense we won't go too far over the fair price for him. I can see the whole thing breaking down before the end of January. The only way I can see it will happen is by Savage slapping in a request before the end of the window.

Brum are a bunch of porn-peddlers who are annoyed that Blackburn have the audacity to try for one of their top players. The bid's structure was cheeky, and I don't blame them for saying 'on your bike', but the constant moaning is annoying. If we did 'tap him up', then we should be punished, with any money going towards the earthquake disaster fund. This will be a good PR move for Rovers, and will turn a bad story into a good one. Then, the FA/Premiership should investigate other stories of players being 'tapped up', and perhaps start with 'Sir' Alex Ferguson and Jaap Stam.

One of the rumours doing the rounds this morning is that Birmingham are lining up Joey Barton from Man City as a possible replacement for Savage. ohmy.gif

Maybe we could steal Barton from City - just to bug Brum - and partner him with Savage and our bad boy Flitters in midfield -unsure.gif

Now what would my mate AESF have to say about that !! smile.gif

I hope you're joking Blue Phil, that Barton is showing himself to be real trouble. He should be in court, or at the very least sacked from Citeh if the stories are true about the Christmas party. He is fast becoming another talented player who thinks he can do what he likes because he gets a few grand in his pocket every week. The arrogant little twerp should probably be in prison.

If Barton went to Brum, what odds he would be involved in an 'incident' outside Spearmint Rhino ?.

Recently he's been taking free kick and pens regularly, I don't exactly remember when someone decided he was a free kick and penalty specialist but its certainly a positive, it must have been something he's been working hard on in the last 2-3 years

But with Dickov's 100% rcord from the spot for us surely we dont need anyone for penalties Chris. Do we? wink.gif

ITV News just reported Robbie Savage as "very strongly" linked with a move to Ewood......while the BBC are reporting City may report us to the PL for an illegal approach to Savage.

Ho, hum smile.gif

Despit Ms Brady being female I've always been highly impressed by her success in the world of football . Here , I see her hand at work in putting the pressure on the Rovers to bid for Savage at a value that may well be above what his true market rate "should" be .

Hughes has undoubtedly shown weakness , to use a poker expression , by continually making it obvious that he desperately wanted Savage down at Ewood . Ms Brady , realising that Tiny and Dunn were overvalued - particularly the former - is determined to get some of the losses back .

I think we should wait and see what the final result is before deciding who has shown weakness. Though I think a good price would be around 2 millio, even if we end up paying 2.5-3 million for him it will have been a better deal for us. We have to remember that unlike when they bought Dunn and Taylor, Savage is a key figure for them every game, and one of the players around which their team works. It will be a big loss for them, a bit like us losing Ferguson or Emerton, and for 3 million they will find him difficult to replace.

Will this guy and his Brum goons shut up?Every day there is one or two interviews from their side about Savage and us not upping our bid and our initial bid being rejected.

He keeps pushing the damned issue. We were very clear about it,we made our bid,and said that was that.Havent said nothing new.Bruce keeps fingering the issue with the media, its obvious he is trying to say if we up our bid theyll sell it.

It looks like he is OBSESSED with us upping it so he can sell him or somehting. If he really didnt wanna sell, just say so ONCE and shut up!!!

Got the radio on listening to WBA v Newc and they tell me Savage has handed in a transfer request.

EDIT - so I see news travels faster to Derbyshire than Yorkshire. To be expected I suppose. The pigeons round here have seen better days

Everton makes sense as they are almost bound to lose Gravesen this month and tried for Sav in the summer. No great loss as no way should Rovers pay £2m + for a 30 year old with fairly modest ability. Any money should go on a creative player or a goal scorer of which Sav is neither.
