Amo Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Player ratings:Robinson 6, didnt have much to do Henley 8, played really well, Dann, 7, lost the ball sometimes Hanley, 6 I think Givet will take his place when fit. Martin Olsson 7, great cross, should had scored in the end but hit woodwork Mauro Formica 7, took his goal well. Danny Murphy, 7 had a quiet game Dickson Etuhu, 6, not so good today, some wrong decisions Markus Olsson, 7, running all the time, good work with his brother Ruben Rochina, 7, played a full game and it will benefit him but mixed world class passes with som big misses. Jordan Rhodes, 9, man of the match with a hattrick. Pedersen and Gomes came on. And Lowe?

scotty_beam_me_up Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Where did he call anyone an inbred, I missed that. Just said his Missus is due in Jan. Might be a back track but seems genuine.
MarkBRFC Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Well chuffed with the result/showing. have to say though i'm not sure how Rhodes can claim a hat trick? he was no where near that 1st goal the p'boro player punched it into the net!
Dunnfc Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Said imbread kean caught gus car. Lot of burnley fans give him stick.

Derby Blue Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I just hope we manage to keep hold of Rhodes in the January window. he can't go anywhere in Jan can he? Already played for Huddersfield before signing for us, isn'n there a ruling preventingplayers from playing for 3 clubs in a season. Its next summer we need to watch out for.
Ewood Spark Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Well that was like taking a trip in a time machine ... back to circa 1975. I'm still not convinced that they haven't nicked our old Darwen End!

jim mk2 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Some observations from London Road: 1. Very enjoyable win but were we good because Posh were so poor ? Posh never threatened once and giving that late goal away was disappointing. 2. Rovers playing 20 yards farther up the pitch than under Kean - and already look sharper and fitter. 3. Olsson twins had tremendous games, likewise Henley until the last 20 mins when he started giving the ball away. 4. Rochina had a brilliant first 45 and then disappeared. Robinson absolutely slaughtered him for giving the ball away allowing Posh to score. 5. Rhodes is a natural goalscorer but would do even better with a big forward partner. If we keep him for a long time he will break Garner's records. 6. I didn't understand any of Berg's substitutions. Are substitutions compulsory ? I would have kept the same team for the 90 mins. 7. Hanley is still lackadaisical; Dann had a good game. Formica had one of his best games in a Rovers shirt. 8. Enjoyed standing on a terrace and leaning against a barrier for the first time in 30 years but the London Road loos were like the Blackburn End circa 1955. In summary, good to drive home after an emphatic win but we shouldn't get too carried away because Peterborough are third division material. Berg has clearly made a difference but has to start taking points off our rivals
Eddie Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I would imagine that he took Rhodes off so that he could get some recognition from the away support, that is pretty standard for players that have scored hat-tricks. As for the others, it will probably have been to give Murphy a bit more rest in a game that was over and to allow Lowe to get some more match time as he's coming back from a knock. The Pedersen one was not really necessary, but I don't know how you can be critical of it.
RoverRich Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 First time I have been able to watch Rovers for a while and first time I have seen us under Berg. Was pleased with what I saw. It already looks like Henning has got us organised and playing football. I thought Formica had a good game. Looked much happier having a free role where he was able to drift more and affect the game more as opposed to being stuck out on the wing like I have seen him at times. That was possibly due to Henley storming forward though, which kept the width on the right wing. First time I have seen Henley this season also and the kid is class. He looks a proper modern day full back, not afraid to get forward, not afraid to take people on but can defend as well. He does need refining as he is still a bit raw but you wouldn't think he is only 18. As for Rhodes... what is left to say. He is a first class finisher who will always score goals. His 2nd goal was a beaut. Nothing spectacular but, firstly a delightful ball from Rochina, then Rhodes strolls forwards and passes it beyond the keeper. So casual and so composed. He just makes scoring goals look very simple and natural. With Rhodes up front, Rochina and Formica having more creative freedom, plus the likes of Simon and Nuno on the bench, it highlights just what a potent attack we can have if played in the right way. I know it was only Peterborough but still the signs are very promising and it definitely looks as though Berg is developing a good side which can play football in the right manner, and in the manner that I'm sure most Rovers fans want to see. We could easily have had more than 4 goals today. Keep improving and we will batter some teams yet this season. All in all, a nice birthday treat from Rovers for me today
Alan75 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Some observations from London Road:. 6. I didn't understand any of Berg's substitutions. Are substitutions compulsory ? I would have kept the same team for the 90 mins. Rhodes and Olssen had both played for their respective countrys on Wednesday and Murphy was tiring - it also gave Lowe a run outl
Exiled in Toronto Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 What I do not do is brag about the winnings and for that reason, you, nor anyone else on this MB, will know how much I have won. Just got a gut feeling earlier in the week and ran with a win bet at little better than evens with a cheeky fiver @ 50/1 Chortle. Saw the last 50 mins of the game, for once we looked a like a proper team, I think the impact of Berg so far has been amazing.
Reedy You're A Star Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Watching the highlights on the Football League show.. What a ball that is from Rochina for Rhodes' second! The media would be creaming themselves if Rooney had done that.

Game was over, save his legs.

When we're not on Sky who is most reliable site to watch on laptop, including paying sites? There isn't one. When we aren't on Sky the chances of their being an online stream is highly unlikely. Unless it's on a foreign channel or one of the betting websites (although I'm not sure if they can online stream Championship games or not). Either way, we are very rarely on TV in any country so the chances of finding a stream is very very slim
rovermagic Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Happy birthday. But the reason we have such fluidity is that we don't have a big man up with Rhodes. Rhodes headed well and even held ball up. Also wrong on Formica. He doesn't have free role. He plays in right a bit tucked in and tracks back to defend. Berg has instilled discipline. Rochina is a terrific player who makes everything work. But must and will improve decision making and concentration. Happy birthday. Rovermatt Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I was in a plane all day and I've only checked in on the Rovers result. Great stuff. Really encouraged to see Rhodes grab some more goals. I know it's only Peterborough but this'll give us some momentum.
USABlue Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Blimey, bit harsh that at 4-0 up. He didn't get everything right but you won't see a better ball anywhere all season than the defence splitting ball for Rhodes' third. If he does that once or twice every game he's done his job and you can forgive the odd lapse. Was also always looking to be involved and was generally at the hub of all our play. Stamina seemed a lot better than last week. It turned out a very flattering 1-4 for Peterborough I thought. Pedersen's goal would have been allowed more often than not, Rhodes actually missed a fairly straightforward chance and we were very unlucky with the two that hit the woodwork. Could easily have been seven or eight one. Tremendous stuff from Formica I thought. Much better. Rhodes, what a player. People might not like me saying it it but I think we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the owners for pushing the boat out for this lad. Henning Berg - once again, what a difference he's made in just a couple of weeks. Like I said last week if we continue playing like that the results will come. One swallow doesn't make a summer but we're probably only about 6 points behind where we'd like to be ideally and it's a marathon not a sprint so things are shaping up nicely. Just need cover in one or two positions in January. We need either Best back or cover for Rhodes and possibly a central midfielder in case anything happens to Etuhu or Murphy imo. Yeah but what about those experienced managers we missed out on, Dyke, Freedman and McCarthy oh never mind.... Saw the highlights on Sky, who was it that ducked for their goal and what happened when Robinson came rushing out after they scored, looked like someone was about to get a rollocking.
Puffsan Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Berg did not look happy when we conceded that goal. You could see clearly that he called rochina to him pointed both his fingers to his head and said "focus" or something similar. Great result but Peterborough were poor. Hopefully we can build on the confidence from this game. Olsson twins looked really good, our defense didn't have much to work with and rhodes is a threat every time he touches the ball. Think our passing quality was a bit poorer than vs Birmingham, but the final touch was better.
Salgado Is A Hero Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Also think it will be 4-1 to us by the way...put some money on it as well. Sparky Marky I couldn't give a f##k if you don't believe me. Great win....too keaned to give real analysis.....was happy for Jordan.....lovely tackle from Pedersen...haven't seen that in a while......perfect cross from Martin O.....improved fitness, gameplan etc etc....Henning Berg's Blue & White Army!!!
arbitro Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Yeah but what about those experienced managers we missed out on, Dyke, Freedman and McCarthy oh never mind.... Saw the highlights on Sky, who was it that ducked for their goal and what happened when Robinson came rushing out after they scored, looked like someone was about to get a rollocking. Rochina lost the ball on the edge of our penalty area trying to be clever. When the ball went in Robinson sprinted towards Rochina and was clearly angry. Perhaps he gets a clean sheet bonus and Rochina's fannying cost him! To be fair Rochina held his hands up in an apologetic manner. Whilst he clearly is a talent there is a lot of work to do with him about his decision making.
Paul Mellelieu Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 An easy win against bottom of the league. But clear steps in the right direction.
Waggy76 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I didn;t go ,watched it on SKY , things have improved since the arrival of Berg ... We sit this morning in a play off position , so keep touch with the leaders an old adage but a long way to go !!!! I have a few concerns , there is a distinct lack of energy in midfield and I think we need more of a physical presence at back and midfield ( Hendry, Moran , Nelsen etc) People going on about a creative midfield player (young Dunny) but I think we need a Garry Flitcroft type player ! Peterboro must be one of the worst teams in league , but we can only play who we are playing ! Good win , things looking up pleased for Henning Berg , he wants the best for BLACKBURN ROVERS , a far different attitude to the last incumbent of the job !
