I never said all his goals(and I wasn't having a go, it was a compliment, peeps need to chill man!)

Yeah, I know, but a lot of people DO seem to think he's just a guy who is in the right place at the right time. It's nonsense, his finishing, movement in the box and creativity in front of goal is amazing. It's why he can score 25+ goals a season despite not having the best physical attributes.

Kevin Phillips. He is tiny compared to Rhodes but he scored regularly and iirc the golden boot.

Fair shout, though phillps was stronger and quicker in my opinion.

Just to be clear I love Rhodes, he is the best finisher we have had since Shearer, and has the best movement since Bellamy. However I just feel he lacks the ability to beat a man physically, with pace or with skill which is vital in the prem.

When Rhodes scored his first goal today he showed his Rovers shirt to the home fans in the Darwen end today and point to it.

Rhodes has always said that he is very happy here and his stance has never changed. said this on SSN interview when he was signing Fans Rovers shirts at the Rovers store at Ewood Park

Bowyer seems to playing to Rhodes strengths and the team is playing some very good passing and movement football

great comments. makes very clever runs and always looking to play of the last man and getting in behind the defender. his link up play is much better and work rate is very good.

totally Agree. Rovers are playing to his style and he is the main man up front

Gary Bowyer's comments after the game have ruled out Rhodes going anywhere now.

For me, if we can keep making chances for him and him scoring them then we have a great chance of making the playoffs.

Even Alan Nixon has just said that Bolton and Wigan have missed out on Rhodes now. Rhodes is staying.

Rhodes not going to happen now. He who hesitates etc. Make a bid when u inquired and he doesn't score 4 in 2.

Bolton weren't terrible today, we just made them look that way at times, if they had a good forward they could have had a couple more today,

I can see them maybe going for Leon Best!

They were pretty terrible and only scored due to some awful goalkeeping

They weren't that bad.

If they were, we have problems given the number of times we were opened up !

Unlike Rovers, they had no one who could finish. Goals change matches and if Beckford had notched when through, before we scored, could have been a different story completely.

Has in the last hour started a ' sack Dougie ' thread, and it's looking about 50/50.

Trouble with that lot, they don't recognise a gem when they see one.

There's a load of twaddle spoke on here, but I like it. Hanging on the words of a red top tabloid journalist?!? Aha, ha. ha ha. Lets review that again, red top tabloid journalist!

We all hear things. Maybe Rhodes would have gone? Maybe he still will? - to a championship club. He'd be off his head to do so. That was a team playing to his strengths today.

My word, he can finish. Would I buy him? Premier League Manager / Chairman? Honestly? No. No chance. Two great games, in the last two weeks, average before then. This division is sh1te. Sorry but it is. Where was the quality last year? I saw next to nothing.

Now we might be getting there. Bring on the ba$tards.

To the uninitiated on the mb, you could easily be mistaken for a Bolton fan in recent months.

Look, when I was much younger, I was like many on this MB and only saw things through blue and white eyes.

Age brings maturity, experience and appreciation of other players and managers' talents whether they be associated with Bolton, Burnley, Man United etc.

Have supported Rovers for decades and they will always be my number one team, however, that will not stop me admiring and respecting other teams' personnel. For example, it would be churlish not to acknowledge the job Dyche is doing at Burnley which is no surprise because he did a damn good job at Watford.

That's what wee Flitty thought Merce last week. And if it wasn't for that pesky sending off they'd have beaten Rovers (I'd have said 'us' at that point but noted it wasn't raining today, so presumed you didn't go, a headache for all massive Rovers fans).

And today Merce? Make the effort or not? Wee dougie has assembled a massive bag of sh1te from where I was sat. Fair do's. We had to do a bit, have a clue. It was easy.

They weren't that bad? They were shockingly bad with Wheater, Knight and Medo the standout shockers. And 'wee Dougie' sounded like he has lost the plot in his post match interview. What on earth did he mean when he talked about some players having been there too long? I am looking forward to seeing Gartside trawl out his excuses after another of his failed appointments bites the dust. Horrible little man and a horrible club.

When I say "weren't terrible" I mean I don't see them being relegation candidates come the end of the season, against lesser opposition than us they should scrape by.

p.s. there fans really are crud, they sold there full allocation but still only made a bit of noise from time to time after they scored, didn't here any chants aimed at us(their arch rivals, in their eyes!)

I thought their midfield was good. 60% possession and they created almost as many chances as us. Their defence was worse than ours (which is saying something) and proud to say Rhodes vs Beckford was like Tyson vs Harrison. Totally agree with your last sentence though!

There were about 30 or so likely lads being closely escorted by the local plod down the Bolton Road back alleys after the game. Did anyone hear if it went off anywhere?

Didn't see / hear anything.

Pussycats to those who used to go in the 'Lever End' - they were hard lads !

Did they have 4 clear chances? Beckfords was a poor miss but so was Rhodes clear header 6 yards out

They are lacking more than a striker, at least today they did
