Riversider28
What an anti-climax after all the euphoria yesterday. Fair play to Warks, pity Jack Leach couldn’t repeat his England heroics again. Like O2G said, we still have some silverware to play for next week. 🌹🌹

Riversider28
Lancs v Warks live on Sky Sports In The Bob Willis Trophy. Warks won the toss and elected to bowl. Looks like a good decision as Lancs lose two early wickets, 8-2 in the 4th over. 😦

Riversider28
Now 12-6. Good game to win 😳
Exiled_Rover
Not surprising. I thought we could nick the title - obviously Yorkshire (and to a lesser extent Somerset) stuffed us there, but this isn't a particularly strong Lancs team. The conditions are obviously ridiculous as we're playing at the end of September, but I do wonder how up for this meaningless game Lancashire are.

This feels like the 3rd/4th place play off. As you say cricket in this country going into October is just too far.

Exiled_Rover
Fingers crossed it rains for the next four days. It's the least this competition deserves.

A completely pointless game but if you are going to have it then have it as a start of the season curtain raiser instead of the MCC game. oldjamfan1
For all the people complaining that we shouldn't be playing first class cricket in England in October, well we won't be........
Riversider28
Lancs 78 all out. Luke Wood 46no trying his best to avoid a complete embarrassment. Will be interesting to see how the likes of Bailey bowl on this strip which has been a batsman’s nightmare all season.
oldjamfan1
And we all thought that the Ryder Cup was a one-sided affair.........
oldjamfan1
I’ve been out this afternoon. Have Warwickshire got to 1000 yet?
matt83
If lancs don’t shape themselves we might end up losing this game. I believe lancs need 241 to avoid our worst ever loss.

AllRoverAsia
I'm watching the European Cricket Championship and hear that 'batsman' is defunct, replaced by gender neutral 'batter' It was suggested that 'maiden' over and 'dolly' catch should also go in the greater good, apparently known as 'inclusivity' But .... what about the elephant on the room? .......... Ball ..... surely we cannot have the non male 'batters' playing with 'balls', that will never do.

My grandad used to get annoyed at the tele when they said batters. I think Nasser was particularly bad for it. I can picture him chuntering away “Batter!!! It’s not a bloody chip shop.”
AllRoverAsia
Well this is just baseball with a ball that sometimes bounces during delivery. The batting* is in general a level ahead of the bowling. * This is being done by batsmen, not a batswoman in sight but there are a couple of blokes with long hair.
