philipl Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 I just want to be entertained. Seriously doubt Mowbray can even manage that. Reading just behind us in the table so a real end of season middle of the middle of the table borefest on the cards. Quote
chaddyrovers Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) Hayden Carter makes his debut. No Graham, Samuel or Adarabioyo in the matchday squad. Rovers: Walton, Nyambe, Lenihan, Carter, Rankin-Costello, Travis, Johnson, Rothwell, Holtby, Armstrong, Brereton Five Academy graduates start, three more on the bench. Subs: Leutwiler, Gallagher, Chapman, Davenport, Downing, Bennett, Magloire, Buckley, Vale Edited July 18, 2020 by chaddyrovers Quote
GHR Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) 5 changes: Out - Tosin, Bennett, Downing, Samuel, Graham In - Carter, Nyambe, Rothwell, Holtby, Brereton Pleased for Carter and Nyambe back where he belongs. Hopefully with a bit of pressure off and a clear head Brereton can do something today. Edited July 18, 2020 by GHR 1 Quote
roversfan99 Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 Why is Davenport not playing? Makes absolutely no sense at all. Should have played Rankin Costello in a natural position too. Good to see Carter playing though. If Brereton is playing out wide then he may as well have been left on the bench. Hopefully the end of Samuels Rovers career. And Graham although he leaves behind some good memories and good service. Quote
JacknOry Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 No complaints, all players that will be here next season. Plenty of youth on the bench too. 6 Quote
J*B Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 I’m that confused with that starting 11 I can’t actually work out what formation we are playing. Quote

arbitro Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 It's been an incredible few days for Ryan Nyambe. Bereft of confidence and dropped in midweek and now back in the team presumably full of confidence. 8 Quote

Felt sorry for Graham through all this - age looks to have finally caught up with him this season but if he does leave this summer, which he sadly should, he won't get the send off he deserves. 3 Quote
Mattyblue Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) Bennett aside (contracted unfortunately), there’s a very good chance we won’t see the other 4 that have been dropped/rested (Tosin we know already, Graham, Samuel, Downing) next season. Edited July 18, 2020 by Mattyblue Quote
Backroom Tom Posted July 18, 2020 Backroom Posted July 18, 2020 (edited) Carter given a chance - good Brereton in - good nyambe back in - should never have been ever in doubt, not giving credit where it’s not needed Walton keeps his place - pointless Davenport still on the bench - ludicrous, he’s the one who could solve an issue and we need to see more of Edited July 18, 2020 by Tom 3 Quote
WacoRover Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 I’m a bit confused by Johnson’s inclusion. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised. Quote

GHR Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 I did say it to take the piss a while ago but I do wonder if Walton's continual inclusion - especially today - is an indication he might not be going anywhere... Quote
arbitro Posted July 18, 2020 Posted July 18, 2020 I really hope Carter can replicate Phil Jones' debut. I have seen him play several times and he seems to have all the bits and pieces including physicality. 1 Quote

Overrated Indeed - I don't think any of us are hoping that's the case, but given the relatively short turnaround before next season, Mowbray's allergy to the youth, the fact that if Brighton have kept even half an eye on him they'll not want him back, and the state of our transfer policy I do wonder. Popular Post windymiller7 Posted July 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 18, 2020 If, as I fully expect, Graham does leave this summer, I really hope the club invites him back when we're all allowed back in so we can give him the send off he deserves. Absolutely love the guy. My favourite player over the last few years. 10 Quote
