Midfield is an issue in the sense that they're all inexperienced and Buckley has a tendency to go missing. I absolutely don't think we need a 'hard man' in there.

Sorry all the best teams have a number of hard men - especially in a tough, physical league like the Championship. We were bullied by Reading and Sheffield United because we can't compete with teams like that

I don't think it's that odd - a 'better' offer came in and he's taken it. Neither he or Liverpool owe us anything. It's just football.

Depends if we'd 'agreed' a deal and were just waiting for the injuries. If we hadn't, fair enough.

If it was in the balance that he might go elsewhere, the deal should have been sacked off weeks ago.

Seems like literally a 3rd of the teams in the prem and half a dozen abroad are tracking Benny boy now. They all need to put up or shut and stop acting like chancers trying to take advantage of Lill old blackburn rovers.

He's clearly the 'yeah he'd do' backup option for a lot of them.

The frustration come end of the window will be that in a season where 5 subs are allowed we don't have the squad depth to make 5 decent subs and teams run us off the park.

Even players like Edun who are at best serviceable and at worst best not said can provide benefit as legs (as seen vs Sheff Utd where for me he helped get us a foot back in the game).  Not every signing needs be a Bowler if we have an understanding of how we play and what we want

Are there really any "hard men" left in the game at this level and above? They where a dying breed 15 years ago sadly 😞 the modern uber commercialised namby pamby game for you.

I went to the Reading game and Rovers were "bossed" by the Reading players from start to finish. Our bunch of nice boys shrunk into the shells and weren't able to compete. Travis tried to mix it with them but he was alone. We don't have enough tough nuts in the team. Same at Sheffield from all the reports.  Take away Travis from midfield and not have any so-called "hard men" in midfield - as you suggested - doesn't make any sense.

Know what would be nice, feeling of actually beating somebody, anybody, to a signing. More and more as soon as somebody else comes knocking it’s a clear run at goal for them. Who is that so far, sheff Utd, boro, schalke, Christ even Sunderland have nipped ahead of us.
our only signings seem to be when nobody else is interested and that’s a worry

yes we were bullied badly at sheffield, they are big, fast and determined, buckley went awol completely, jdt was partly to blame imo,he should have packed the midfield out to stop them marauding through us,we definately need someone in who likes a good tackle

patience is wearing thin with buckley,he is`nt in the class of player that can do nothing for 89 minutes and come up with a moment of genius,we certainly can`t afford someone like in the first 11

just trying to compute the SVDB not signing thing. Sure Chaddy was telling all and sundry that it was all signed and sealed and that we were just waiting for Liverpool to release the player if anyone dared to challenge him on it.

Anyone would think he’s as in the dark as the rest of us and just feeding off Nickos tidbits.

If you have a leak in your house and the same plumber has 32 goes at repairing it without success then what would you think!?

Only a d1ckhead would give the same plumber 32 opportunities but you get my drift.

pointless and silly point/comparison here. We are talking about Football where you scout and recruitment players. We scouts players properly here.

He's not even current first choice at North End. He's started the first league game and has been on the bench since.

Yes I know garners but their asking price is unrealistic
