His name, along with Jokanovic, seem to have been missed out altogether. Bizare that isnt it! Both are just as good if not better and more experienced than Carvahal and Farke on paper

chaddyrovers Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 Read an article about Les Ferdinand who was explaining how they appointed Michael Beale. He said they spoken to over 20 people about the vacancy there and any appointment need a backing in development. Ferdinand details head coach recruitment process (qpr.co.uk) 5

Popular Post J*B Posted June 3, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 3, 2022 At this point I feel like the best result they can come up with would be Friedel and Ainsworth. 11

Doesn't answer every question I'm sure but it's a start that their fans can take onboard. 2

Taking the fact that he’s a rovers fan away from the equation is somebody who has spent 9 years at Wycombe got them promoted and then relegated from championship really enough to warrant him getting so much support for rovers manager?

JHRover Posted June 3, 2022 Posted June 3, 2022 Does any of it matter anymore? If Ainsworth gets it we can debate all day whether it's the right decision or whether he'd have even been considered had he not got a Blackburn connection. My own view is it would be a ludicrous decision, but typical Rovers of this day and age looking no further than 'one of our own' because it fits that strapline for season tickets and it's an obvious, easy one to do. But ultimately if the requirement is that he works with the irreplaceable coaching staff then it matters not. Because he'll be starting with one hand tied behind his back and without the ability to work with his own people, being dictated to on key decisions by buffoons who don't understand football. 1

You just mentioned his 9 years at Wycombe and completely ignored the first 6 years there. He saved them from relegation out of L2 in 2012. Then eventually got them up to L1 in 2018, while contributing the necessary wheeling and dealing to get the club onto a sound financial footing. All without an academy, reserve team, or GK coach. Then, given the opportunity to add to his coaching staff, and reserves (allowing him to rest and rotate players at last) he them promptly gets them into the Championship, relegated, then back into a Play-off final again. The guy has played real-life Football Manager and it's a remarkable managerial career so far. His fandom is irrelevant (and actually a turn OFF for me lest he be tainted by Venkys). But his record suggests he's ready to make the step up, much more than Mowbray or Coyle deserved when they were appointed, much moreso that the recently appointed Beale, Edwards, Lowe at other clubs.
