Women’s football thread.

Having a debate without either posters or the mods clamping down on it gets ever harder on here…

I think we’re pretty fair unless people start being dicks and I stand by that.

I’m away this weekend, so I haven’t been on much and can’t comment on the thread being hidden, but can certainly look into it…

I can’t believe women’s football isn’t football?

I was just about to post about the Women's WC which has started today and I'm currently watching and enjoying NZ v Norway via BBC 1.

Are such posts banned on here, I missed all of the previous deleted stuff and what occured.

They aren’t banned?

Happy for you to create a Women’s Football thread tbf. Not happy for anyone to be sexists or misogynists though.

I think that this is an odd signing; BBC: Zaha to Turkey

He'd been at Palace all but 1 year of his pro career. What made him decide on Turkey?

Aged 30, getting a 3 year contract at a big fee and wages and Champions League football and the probability of continued success and medals during his time there.

Still seems strange, I understand after his Man Utd experience why he would not want to be a squad player at a top English club again, but surely could have got himself a Champions League club (where he would be in the first 11)  in Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany etc, Turkey is a few rungs down from those.  He may as well have moved to the old firm albeit he will have much nicer weather in Istanbul

Valid points, I hadn't appreciated how low Turkey in ranked for European competition, just above Cyprus.

Still they pay well and such a fabulous place.

It will be interesting to see if he does the full contract term.

Just seen this on Twitter. Well worth a read.

Aaron Ramsdale

Absolutely fantastic.

No matter how successful a football player is, they're real people - despite often being reduced to mere pawns in the world of football.

He comes across fantastically.

He confirms what some of us has said for some time: Never forget that our players have personal lives that could serioysly impact their performance. In addition - like Ramsdale points out - you need a good manager. I often think when players are underperforming it’s related to something off the field on a personal level. Not an excuse but a possible explanation for some lacklustre performances from some of our players.

But good find and a very good read. After all this nonsense with Saudi-Arabia buying everything at insane prices it’s good to see someone put a human face on football. Oh - loved the bit about his connection with the fans!
