RoverDom Posted Monday at 08:57 Posted Monday at 08:57 Id give Ange another season. They sacked Jose before the league cup final and they might soon sack Ange after winning one - its very spursy. As he said himself the club needed a trophy far more than it needed a 3rd place finish. 1 Quote

Backroom DE. Posted Monday at 09:24 Backroom Posted Monday at 09:24 I very much hope Spurs keep Ange and United keep Amorim. Two very tactically inflexible managers who will continue to keep both teams mired in mediocrity at best. 4 Quote

So fair play to Ange, and Tottenham fans will remember Bilbao far more than those glorious 4th place finishes… Indeed. I wonder how many Wigan Athletic fans would trade their FA Cup victory for having stayed in the PL that year... 4 Quote

It will be interesting summer at United with some players leaving like Garnacho, Rashford and Anthony but who they signed. 23 minutes ago, DE. said: I very much hope Spurs keep Ange and United keep Amorim. Took a look at the Spurs forum and they all seem to want Ange gone. Give 'em hell Chadster. and during yesterday with the Spurs Stadium they were signing Ange name Tottenham fans have made their feelings on Ange Postecoglou clear https://x.com/joemurrell_BITW/status/1926648579105464450 Sherwood backing Ange to stay https://x.com/SpursViews_/status/1926923906310423019 Well Spurs fans at the stadium sounds like they don't want him gone and that why I am wary of reading too much into comments on fans forum. Football fans are as fickle as they come. I recall some posters on here demanding the sacking of Ismael after only a few games, but then after a couple of good results their tune had changed. Give it a few games into the new league season and if they continue to get embarrassed every week, Spurs fans will soon turn again. Quote
davulsukur Posted Monday at 10:48 Posted Monday at 10:48 Ange has technically delivered a trophy and champions league football to Spurs, so really they should stick with. If next season follows the same pattern though, they need to be sacking him pretty quickly. I can’t see how they will be successful in both the PL and Europe, so one will likely suffer. Quote
Exiled_Rover Posted Monday at 14:14 Posted Monday at 14:14 I see the plastic scousers are out in force in Liverpool today. I really do detest that club. 1 Quote

For me they don't come into the same category as the Red Scum along the M62 but how many times are they actually going to celebrate winning the title?. Sky made us sit through a couple of hours of cringeworthy celebration, including Slot singing, after the match where they clinched the title (Was it Spurs?) so I assumed that was it. Then, seemingly, same again after yesterday's game. THEN an open air parade today. Talk about overkill. Quote

Rather harsh on both counts. He made a split-second decision and from where he was stood it looked like a foul. VAR rules prevented a review. Referees are easy targets. I've not seen one comment on the stupid decision Martinez made to get himself sent off. Hojlund wasn't going to score, he never does. Playing more than a half with 10 men cost them more than a refereeing error. In the wider picture Villa won a league game on October 19th. They then won 3 out of their next 11. Blame that drop in form, possibly because their squad was tired from weekly European games, for not qualifying for the Champs League, not a referee. 2 Quote

VAR rules prevented a review. That’s the problem. He shouldn’t have made such a quick decision. The guideline state Delaying the flag/whistle for an offence is only permissible in a very clear attacking situation when a player is about to score a goal or has a clear run into/towards the opponents’ penalty area. Yes, he made a mistake but I think in part the post to which you are replying was in answer to the ludicrous suggestion that the referee in question should never be allowed to referee again. Quote

Amorim has been 3-4-2-1 formation head coach since he started his coaching hasn't he? He had a one off game against an abysmal opponent with the reward being over 100million which he would have received most of in order to buy the players he needed to make his "system" work. He chose to stilck with a system, style and formation that he had evidence was a disaster against English sides. Ange, changed his tactics and won the game. I think this Amorim has demonstrated contempt for the fans, the club and his profession he is an absolute disgrace. I also think he stuck with the formation is because he was shit scared of winning the Europa League with a formation other than his own and might come under pressure when it all goes tits up next year. I really hope they keep him they all deserve each other. Edited Monday at 17:41 by Blow-in Quote
