As @Herbie6590 touched on, those conclusions are incorrect.

Looking at the accounts doesnt factor in the various costs throughout those years that are exempt from FFP calculations.

Waggott has boasted that we should make a profit this year after selling Wharton, I am unsure too whether the Raya sell on will be in these upcoming 2024 accounts or whether the deal to Arsenal will be in July. But either way, factoring all this in, we have plenty of room and FFP isn't a pressing concern nor a reason should as is likely we don't spend on the squad. Problem is, there is a lot of misinformation/incorrect assumptions about FFP and it can cause people to believe it is the reason we dont spend more.

I see, apologies for not reading the full thread. I guess that means the real FFP numbers are hidden and we as fans don't really have any way of tracking them with the publicly disclosed accounts alone.

That said, the Wharton money doesn't have any bearing on the 22/23 accounts and are irrelevant to my post.

If the FFP calculations result in a loss exceeding the lower threshold (£15 million over a rolling three year period) than a club has to send the EFL future financial projections covering the next two accounting periods.

If these projections show a potential breach of the upper threshold (£39 million over a rolling here year period) then the following regulation comes into play.

This means the Wharton money is already of use for FFP purposes (although I doubt this was their main motivation for pushing him out the door)

wonder what the excuse for no transfer budget is this summer,im`e leaning towards the maintenence and regeneration of ewood.i.e painting steelwork, cleaning roof etc etc etc, they`ve  neglected it for seasons so in true swag  sense it will take millions to put right instead of doing it on a season by season rota, wouldn`t surprise me if a new pitch appeared as well, anything not to spend money on players,i honestly think it`s all going to unravel next season and with fortune and the lords help.the end of swag, broughton and the indian fraudsters(allegedly!!)

Can't block those pathways for the youngsters. It just wouldn't be fair to sign proven players when we've an academy model to follow!

That's why hes dropped it in there and it was inevitable anyway they were always waiting for a huge sale before commencing any extra maintenance that's why its never been done. A few quid from a big Dack and BBD sale would have seen some done no doubt but they never materialised.

The owners who never refuse a cheque and are exempt from FFP on this one really came up trumps again eh.

Although they are always “willing to sign the cheque”, why is it whenever it comes to money spending in the transfer window or something major, this doesn’t really happen?

Any update on the McGurie transfer? Maybe this question could be asked at the next meeting.

An opportunity to repeat my favourite Two Ronnies news item:

All animals have been released from Battersea Dogs Home. Police say they’re desperately looking for leads.

In the channel today, a ship carrying blue paint collided with a ship carrying red paint…both crews have been marooned…

All the toilets were today stolen from Blackburn Police Station. Lancashire Constabulary say they have nothing to go on.
