Doesnt fit in with the rest of our recruitment, and perhaps not the type of wide player anyone had in mind. We could do with pace and he isnt that quick and he is also very weak.

But we could also do with some technical ability. We are focusing on athletes which is all well and good but both in terms of results and entertainment, you need to have some craft and technical ability to go with it. And Miyoshi would really being that, he looked a good little technical player when he was at Birmingham and reading what their fans thought of him, they liked him which is always a good sign.

Would he be an upgrade on Dolan if it happened? Not so sure. But he would be a noticeable upgrade on what we have.

He also perhaps is better suited to playing in a more central position. That being said, if he did sign, he would potentially be expected to play narrower considering how we seem to want to play so that might work.

Lots of ifs though as seemingly nothing is close. But I certainly wouldnt be against it.

I am like others a bit confused about how we fit all of Tavares, Henricksson, Cantwell, Travis and Tronstad into three roles. And I guess Baradji if he signs.

Hopefully it means strength from the bench rather than simple replacement.

Some Birmingham fans say he’s more of a no. 10 or 8 and is NOT a winger as he’s not very quick but has quick nibble feet which ideal for a no. 10.

I think we can make it work with him out wide and tucking in on the attack if our right back bombs on up on the overlap like Britain did. Alebiosu looks like he can do that, whether Miller can I'm not too sure will need to see him play.

The 2 million price tag is a bit sore on the eyes & can’t really be realistic in my view …

They signed him for 400k he’s not settled In Germany cause of coach his club have been relegated to the second division & his numbers of 15 games 1 goal don’t equal Β to them asking for 2 million so all in all a deal has been lined up for 3 weeks ready to hit the push button but for some reason they not pushed it … Maybe they waiting on it to drop unless some other club guzumps us … which is a big worry ……like I said earlier would perfer someone like him then a speedy winger …. We have enough speed with the likes of Kargbo De Neve & the right back …

Feels like all fees have been over inflated tbfΒ

If the Miyoshi deal has been taking this long I can't imagine it's likely to get done. 2 million for a 28 year old doesn't sound like the sort of business we do these days. Imagine there's been a lot of haggling over the structure of the deal and add-ons.Β

Miyoshi's age concerns me more than anything, he'll be 29 before the season finishes. I know the Japs tend to be a fitter bread than us over here but no real sell on value there either way.

Looking at comments and reels, he looks quite nippy and does have a number 10 feel about him.

Miyoshi would be very good signing. Ideal for the attacking right hand side midfielder role. Hope we can pull this off. Quality player

Qualify automatically and doesn't need ESC spot

Also, was a bit part player, mainly off the bench, in a team that were relegated (albeitΒ  from the German top tier) last season.Β  1 goal, 0 assists, and missed the end of the season with injury

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/koji-miyoshi/leistungsdaten/spieler/295060/plus/0?saison=2024

Obviously his previous season was better for him personally, 6 goals and 6 assists as previously mentioned, but was relegated again

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/koji-miyoshi/leistungsdaten/spieler/295060/plus/0?saison=2023

But missed most of the season before that with an ACL injury

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/koji-miyoshi/leistungsdaten/spieler/295060/plus/0?saison=2022

and part of the season before that with a serious hamstring injury

It’ll make more sense when Trav and Sonny are shipped offΒ

I'm not convinced. He seems to have some attributes and knows the league but hasn't delivered for a year and has had injury problems. If I was in charge of the money there's no chance I'd be forking out anywhere near Β£2m.

I'd be very happy with Miyoshi, can't see us doing much better. Good Dolan replacement and we need someone with champ experience.

Maybe Brittain sale has released the funds for axel/him/Miller.Β

On Axel signing if CM I've always said tronstad and Travis are a negative pairing. Good to have more creative options to rotate in. Maybe this has been recognised rather than planning to offload one. Which will happen next season anyway.

A striker is actually critical. Ohashi is good, will get goals as will Gueye but not as many but we need more. If one is injured, we're in big trouble.Β

I feel what we are (always) missing is pace or at least a player with good acceleration/over a few yards (particularly when we now have a few more well-positioned "ball winners" in the side).

Fingers crossed we can hope for a more cerebral Dolan replacement (one can dream...)

It might have released room on the wage bill but Rudy Gestede said sales would make no difference to this transfer budget.

That could mean they weren't relying on sales this time or it could mean there is a set amount then that is it regardless of sales.

Agree with most above and that there is no resale value in this lad. Replacing hedges is a must and if we bide our time maybe someone else will become available, or wait to see if we can clear an ESC slot where we would get better value for moneyΒ

axel gets a 4 year contract but our skipper, the best right back and the best holding midfielder in the league don`t even get an extension offer😰

Are you sure Callum didn't got an offer?

Miyoshi would be a great signing, but not at Β£2m. Half of that and it's a deal for me. Has experience in the Championship, hard-working and contributes offensively. Don't think we'll play two Kargbo's at once, so don't mind a more disciplined option on one of the flanks.Β

Do we need a striker as well or can Gueye and Ohashi at least make it until January? And surely we won't sign both Baradji and Miyoshi?Β

Absolutely we need a striker as well as a RW.

I would take Myoshi, could be a very shrewd signing and might get a bit more out of Yuki as well but as you say no way is the fee anywhere near the Β£2m quoted. German club bought him for Β£400k and he played 15 times for them πŸ€”

Im not saying that he will cost Β£2m but his value was under market value due to a release clause so its not a fair benchmark.

If we get a player like Miyoshi for the right, it would only heighten our need for another striker with pace.

Permanent or loan, either way.

Depends what his delivery is like.

Does he take set pieces?
