Not entirely convinced on Afolayan personally.

Odd one.

Is this happening?ย

What Iโ€™d like to seeย

travis - out

pears- out

buckley- outย

Leonard- loanย

go to Southampton and ask them what striker they would be willing to do a deal on, they have far too many. Iโ€™d happily take Armstrong, archer or Ross Stewart. They wouldnโ€™t sell us downes and I donโ€™t want Brereton back.ย
if not Miovski at girona is availableย
ย

rw- Iโ€™m not wanting another European punt, two Iโ€™d targetย

rak sakyi

vlad cerny

midfield- Iโ€™d ask about getting Alan Browne in loan from Sunderland, not going to get game time there and been told he can go. Ideal replacement for travis in games we need to dig deep.ย
ย

I see itโ€™s been suggested we get another cb but I donโ€™t see it as a position we are lacking at.

hyam and McLaughlin are our starters

carter, Wharton, miller and even Pickering can come in there should a mass injury crisis happen so I donโ€™t see it as needed.ย

if pears goes will probably need an experienced safe pair of hands in, certainly wouldnโ€™t want our youngsters thrown in at the deep end should toth suffer an injury. Fraser Forster?ย

I suppose it's weather Hyam's happy, does he want to get out- I think he's a steady performer, would rather he stays given the amount of players we've already shed..

I still think he leaves.. Trondstadt maybe too...

He's probably happy but not happy enough to sign a contract offer on the same terms as he's on now. Can't sell him before we have a replacement ready.

Losing Hyam would be a massive and totally unacceptable blow and would massively weaken us. His experience and quality is even more important considering what has been stripped away. He is a very good defender at this level and he seems to be always available.

He seems willing to sign a new deal. We have stripped away so much experience and have made big savings. There is no excuse not to chuck an improved contract at him.

Sadly, we dont seem interested in keeping key players. Ismael did an excellent job in organising the team today but I found his comments about Travis "letting down the team" to be totally unnecessary, certainly without any further detail. He seems willing to do as he is told publically and try and make outgoing players seem like the villains of the piece.

Ross Stewart has had a night mare with injuries but a top player at this level.ย

Hypothetically if we could sell Hyam for (say) ยฃ2.5m, get another performer of the quality of Mclaughlin in for ยฃ500 k and reinvest the profit up front it'd be a cracking bit of business.

However Mclaughlin was probably a one off due to Hull's woes and any profit probably wouldn't be reinvested so as with everyone else - probably better keeping them.

Can't sign a foreign player to replace Hyam, so Colin Rรถsler could be a possibility as he's eligible to represent England.

The Kapuadi ship has sailed and gone.ย

I thinkย Afolayan happens.

Looking at his career he's done bloody well to get to where he's currently at. Not sure how it's happened as he's spent most his career in league 1.ย

ย

Last season he played 32 times for a German Top league club, thatโ€™s impressive and at 28 should be hitting his peak.

In January then if we can free up a foreign player spot?

We're selling established Championship players and replacing them with cheap punts from obscure European Leagues.

If they're not good enough, their height is irrelevant whether they're five feet four or six feet four.ย ย

Exactly. My post was in response to the several posts before it questioning why we keep signing 6ft and athletic players.ย

There's no doubt we are selling off players in the last year of their contract and signing players to replace for less money but those players could be any size and type. There is a common theme which suggests there may be some thought behind it. Doesn't mean it's right, doesn't mean they are better and it doesn't mean I like what's happening. No dressing up required
