I wonder as well if Tronstad is next on their list to offload, way they talk Baradji is planned to be a starter, presumably alongside Tavares, and if they still want another CM as back-up with Montgomery and Forshaw I think Suhail will be planning to get rid of Tronstad's wages.Β

Would be a bad decision in my opinion, but hard to see us keeping 6 CMs, not even including Henriksson and Cantwell who could do a job there.

What they don't get rid of now they'll sell in the Jan window i think that's nailed on.

Yeah, I don't particularly expect Hyam and Tronstad to see out the season with Rovers, but unless we're about to have a truly chaotic week before the summer deadline I can't see either of them going until January.

Looks like a natural goal scorer to me - has got in some great positions already.Β

Not sure he's incredibly skilful and deft in those tight areas, but he'll be in the right place in and around the box to get shots off.Β

Yeah i think so. Thats why I thought a bit further back might suit him, with those late runs into the box.

We'll see how he gets used going forward, I think he will only be a bit part player this season with them integrating him slowly to he starter next season as I imagine Tronstad and Cantwell will be off next summer.

Technically limited butΒ  looks like he'll get stuck in and hopefully have that knack of popping up in the box.Β Β

have we miss either Batth or Weimann?Β

Don’t know. Depends if you think we would have lost 3 out of 4 games, including getting dumped out of the cup off a league one side, with them.

Maybe Baath would have defended that West Brom throw. Maybe Weimann would have scored against Bradford. Not sure anyone can look at our results and say weΒ haven’tΒ  missed them.

Or we could have had similar to Derby’s results and performances instead? Who knows πŸ€·β€β™€οΈΒ

Edit - although to be fair they have played Stoke and Coventry who seem to have started extremely well, including Coventry scoring 7 at the weekendΒ

It does warm my soul to know England are competing for European and World Cup finals and that Scottish team would struggle in the Championship.Β

Steady, healthy load of Scottish supporters including myself for rovers.Β
we are limited in attack but we have an emerging talent at hibs , Kieron Bowie, might make the step up requiredΒ

I dont think anyone else is close to signing.

Nixon reckons we have a bid in for a midfielder but he doesn't have a name yet.

When we say midfielder is that central? Or another winger?Β

My early assessment of the incoming players

mccloughlin- steady, composed, very good pick up. Really liked batth but appears this was a good swap.Β
alebiouso- like his athleticism and physicality. Another good bit of business. I miss brittain but at least we replaced the position well.Β
Baradji- looks a YouTube talent, can’t comment till I see a few games for us.Β
henrikkson- im worried about this one, he looks clumsy with an awkward running style and just not an athlete never mind a footballer. Not sure this one is going to work out.Β
taveris- looks neat and tidy but tends to give silly fouls and questions on his fitness , burst at 60 mins. Think he will be ok but needs to get better fitness and a footballing brain. Birmingham loss was a lot on him for both of those reasons iv mentioned.Β

Not said but I imagine central to replace Buckley.

It’s way too early to make any judgement on whether or not players are being or will/wont be missed

iv said this from the start new environments for all transferred players especially at champ level or below doesn’t auto transfer previous form. Batth a rock for us last season by all accounts Derby fans want him out of the team already but he was great for us. Weimann scored important goals for us again Derby fans saying he’s done so it’s about the now as opposed to the past but 4 games shouldn’t really be a gage of anythingΒ

Ipswich sheff u Norwich qpr Wrexham all bottom 6/8 at present and not performing particularly well and for the most part a lot of the fans/management for the teams above citing new players and needing timeΒ

I'm more hopeful than you about Axel... 1st game was clearly off the pace but I liked his cameo on Saturday -Β  keen to get forward and could easily have had an assist if Hedges had shown a bit more composure.

Think poster meant to show which other teams were allegedly interested in Baradji, hence Ismael bigging him up.

Yeah sorry was posting it for context... Let's be honest... And I like Trav... He ain't ever been linked with such clubs.Β

Weimann started for Derby last friday then was subbed on 60 mins. He's never a 90 minn player. Also Baath subbed on 70 mins. Ok game dictates who you bring on but although these are two vastly experienced pros, a full game contribute from each is coming to an end.

If Baath was playing for us against Brum his experience could have prevent one of the two away goals. Would have liked to keep Baath but not bothered about Weimann - but he scored an excellence goal at dingles.

Genuine question: would anyone (including Saudis) actually pay money for Buckley? I'm more worried that we will have to pay him off just to get rid...

Leonard: was expecting clinical finishing when he got a few chances but was underwhelmed. Throw in the injuries and our current manager's preferences for "physical players" then he really does need to get out of Rovers to have any chance of a career. Do wonder if there may also be a contract related issue (eg if he plays it triggers a pre-agreed increase that we are desperate to avoid for someone that we don't actually believe has a future here anymore)

Henrikkson appears to have caught the β€œ stupid yellow card β€œ disease off Buckley. In the WBA game another ref would have carded him twice. He needs to smarten up sharpish.

Leonard - I thought we were getting a finisher. He’s missed more than his share of chances. He doesn’t look a finisher to me and apart from that he offers very little in the way of pace or physicality.Β

I think they'll keep Hyam and Tronstad until January and hope that Carter/Wharton and Baradji have pushed them out of the starting 11 by then so they can be shuffled out the back door.
