Anyone else get the feeling that John Toshack will play Bellamy for the full 90mins in Wales friendly tonight. He'll probably end up injured meaning he'll have to miss Sundays game

Hmm I fancied Spurs for a top 6 place this season....last season, after they beat us here. They had been absolutely awful but had just sacked Santini and replaced him with Jol (player power for sure) when they turned up and rolled us over. 2 weeks prior and we would have won no problem. ( The Newcastle of last season). Anyway they had a cracking squad which has since been strengthened and have 3 strikers that are at least as good as our best ....Bellamy.

On paper they should walk it BUT inconsistency is their achilles heel. I know they should be up for it on Sunday and that should work against us but most of their squad has been away on international duty and like the Arse might just be a little too complacent v little old Blackburn as a result.

Difficult to call. If we get 1-0 up or keep it level for 60 mins we could frustrate em enough for their heads to drop and the crowd to get at em allowing us to go in for the kill.........but if they go 1 or 2 up then its curtains.

If I were Hughesy I would initially go with the axe in a 4-5-1 switching later in the second half to nap em BUT I'm not Hughes and he may well elect to go head to head, in order to not erode the confidence of the squad which has seen 4-4-2 gain such good results.

Whatever it's difficult to call.

Bellers was subbed after 78 minutes, no reports of him being injured.

I think it's our turn at WHL. A convincing win the the Rovers.

Really???

For a start, Spurs have two of the weakest full backs in the league with Stalteri and Lee.

They also have a problem at left midfield with either Davids or Tineo(sp) playing out wide, who would not get in the rovers first 11. And would most people really rather have either Jenas or Murphy replacing Sav or Tugay in the middle??

Now for their strikers, if you seriously believe that Defoe is a better player than Bellamy, then you listen to the pundits on MOTD way too much. Keane or Mido would get in the Rovers side, but neither would replace Bellamy as he is far the better player all round

i agree, staltari & lee are hopeless. bellamy will run the channels and frighten the life out of the pair of them !

we might loose the mid. battle though.

before this season, i thought defoe was a better 'goalscorer' than bellamy. how wrong i was! bellamy is much more of a team player than i thought and he blows defoe out of the water!

wouldnt mind mido, keane or defoe as bellamy's partner though.

Why change what has worked for us all season? Especially when you consider that playing 4-4-2 e have beaten better sides than Spurs in recent weeks.

I would take Jenas for the right over what we have, much better player there than any of ours. Lennon is even better but lacks experience. Savage has been exceptional to the point where I actually would have him over Davids. The Murphy/Tugay comparison is interesting as while Tugay is certianly the more classy player Murphy has the legs. Same goes for Carrick.

My combined side would be:

                  Bellamy      Mido

Pedersen      Savage    Carrick    Jenas

    Gray        Nelsen      King        Niell

                            Robinson

Subs: Defoe, Keane, Tugay, Dawson, Friedel

Got my ticket today, anybody know how many we have sold? I know it a sun sky game and its £31, but was hoping we could sell out due the small allocation.

Im going for a entertaining 1-1 draw with a certain Mr Savage on the score sheet for us.

Maybe not.

But you're the only person I've ever known who can attempt to justify a 4-5-1 involving 'the axe' without taking the p......

I wouldn't personally go for a 451 for this game but I don't think it would be a ridiculous suggestion. It would certainly make us more secure, and a point is excellent work if we are after sixth.

The game would be dull though, and why not indulge our dreams of fourth?

After last weekend's win against the Arsenal I should be looking forward to Sunday's clash with Spuds at White Hart Lane, however, if you look at our away form then it's rather depressing. With only 4 away wins, the last one against Newcastle in the middle of January, I'm not to optimistic about our chances against the Spuds, who haven't lost at home since August, when they were beaten. 2-0 by Chelsea.

One saving grace appears to be that Spuds along with Villa are the draw specialists in the premiership, each one having drawn 10 games so far this season.

With the exception of last weeks goal scorer Pedersen, (hamstring injury) and subject to the internationals returning free from injury, Hughes should have a full complement of players to select from. Rovers will also have available, long term injury casualty, Dickov, who had a run out for the reserves in their 1-0 defeat by Newcastle midweek.

At the moment I think the team picks itself and I would suggest that the only change from last weekend will be a replacement of Pedersen. At a guess I would say.

Friedel.

Neill, Todd, Nelsen, Gray

Reid, Tugay, Savage, Bentley

Pongo, Bellamy.

I tend to be realistic on the result and would suggest a 0-0 draw.

Consecutive wins against North London clubs would more than likely see the club being advertised for sale on ebay. unsure.gif

I'll be very upset if we throw away any realistic chance of winning by playing 4-5-1.

Last week I didn't feel very optimistic about our chances. After beating Arsenal my view has changed somewhat.

One thing is for sure Spurs aren't miles ahead of us as a team as some people on here would like to think.

We'd already have plastered them all over Ewood at the start of the season had we had a competent striker playing in place of Kuqi.

No prediction from me (as that worked last week smile.gif ) but we MUST come away with at least a point.

We will have to pay Tromsø about 350k, when MGP has played three more matches in the cup and league. (60 matches) We will also have to pay them 350k more after 90 matches.

A friend of Mark Hughes secretary's husband's sister told me this is why he is not playing Tottenham.
