deftangel Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Ruud Gullit? That's a fair shout. Anyone mentioned Guus Hiddink yet? I wouldn't complain if we got him. EDIT: Whoops, just noticed he's only just started with Turkish national team.

True Blue & White Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Really dont think it will be anyone in a job, well be a quick one i think and a big face. Damn! I had my money on this guy....
47er Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Do people actually put money on some of these selections.....Megson!?!?!? INCE!?!?! ALEX FERGUSON!?!?PHIL BROWN!?!? Give me a break. Well i'm quite upset to see him go because it seems to me like a lot of hard work down the drain. He has his critics but nobody can argue with our league finish last year and current position given our resources. Not to mention some excellent youth he has given chances to. Good luck Sam and thanks. Now...they sacked him because they want attractive football and obviously don't trust him to spend their money. For me it's a simple solution....Ian Holloway The guy plays attacking football, players and fans love him. The respect he has from players at Blackpool and everywhere else in the game is immense. He is getting paid pittance and Blackpool and is working for a total tight fisted clown in Oyston. Holloway knows he is gonna lose his players next year because Oyston wont budge on wages....he wouldn't even buy under soil heating! I'm sure Holloway would come. It's his big opportunity and he has earned it....will probably bring Adam and Vaughn with him aswell. Reminds me of the Coyle situation last year Agree with you but do Venkys know enough about football to make this kind of decision? Much more likely they'll go for someone "well known".
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Surely there aren't any bigger faces out there than Allardyce? Big Sam always reminded me of Toy Story :-)
chaddyrovers Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-want-Diego-Maradona-to-replace-Sam-Allardyce-as-manager-yes-manager-article650769.html Maradona rovers manager If he is appointed has manager or has anything to do with the club then it is a f**king joke!!! The fans don't want him!!! He nothing more than a cheat and that is it!!!!! Big Sam style not sexy enough for new owners http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Sam-Allardyce-not-sexy-enough-for-Blackburn-s-new-owners-article650577.html
bazza Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 If it's Gary Megson I wont eat ever again!!! The news of Sam's sacking reached me by phone from my mate in Bolton, a trotters fan. Earlier in the day we had discussed at length the match on Sunday. He rang and told me Sam had been sacked and Megson had taken his place. I told him "You're joking". "Only about Megson", he said. I was gutted about Sam. Paul Ince at 33/1??? Have these bookies gone raving mad? I wouldn't put a tenner on at 1000/1. S Bilic for me; if we can't have Mourinho.

Valois Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Can I just say, isnt it bizarre you can bet on who will be the next manager of a football team? If i was part of the Venkys regime, and knew who was going to be appointed, you could just get someone to put a rather large bet on at a number of bookies and you quids in. Same with betting on the next manager to be sacked, if your the chairman of the club and know you are going to sack the manager in the morning, several bets at several bookies.
TugaysMarlboro Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Told you it makes sense. That's the last thing it makes to me.

LeChuck Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Maradona second favourite behind Jol on Betfair. Maradona and Steve Clarke would be my first choice actually!
G Somerset Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Why le chuck? Maradona would be a truly awful appointment.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Blackburn-want-Diego-Maradona-to-replace-Sam-Allardyce-as-manager-yes-manager-article650769.html Maradona rovers manager If he is appointed has manager or has anything to do with the club then it is a f**king joke!!! AggyBlue Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I feel sick, I'm going sitting in a dark room for a bit
Earlydoors Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Maradona and Steve Clarke would be my first choice actually! Might as well have Maradonna and Pele - that's how effective they'll be ...or Madonna come to think of it
imy9 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Charismatic, a world name would put us on the map. The Argentinians played some great stuff in the wc and he needs some good backup but why not?
BuckyRover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Maradona second favourite behind Jol on Betfair. Maradona and Steve Clarke would be my first choice actually! My initial thought was terror. But you are encouraging me to run with it. It might be brilliant (it would probably more likely end in disaster, but what the hell)
grizfoot Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Update on the prices at Betfair (based on last price matched): Jol - 4/1 O'Neill - 11/1 Shearer - 11/1 Houghton 14/1 Maradona 19/1 Sven 22/1 McClaren 24/1 Curbishley - 29/1 Bilic 43/1 Holloway 45/1 Rijkaard 49/1 Don't know how much you can read into that but interesting to see the wide variety of names, usually a good indication that nobody really knows what the hell is happening.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Would be without doubt the biggest cock up by the club ever if it happens. The guy may be argubably the greatest player ever to kick a ball but the guy is no manager, not in a million years. If it happens it proves Venky’s don't give a ###### about the club and only care about boosting their profile. Such a move does not make any footballing sense whatsoever.
Blue n White Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Champions League Ship.... Another Paul Ince in the making.
