chaddyrovers Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Eveyone bar an idiot knows he is on his way. We rescued him from the Cardiff reserves ,we made him a saleble assest and his respectless comments have peed me off know end....chaddy be careful talking to me it is always mistrued Gestede deffo wants out, the problem will any PL club pay Rovers asking price this summer? I just hope that we don't end up with this situation carrying on all summer tbh. But my point is we need to bring in a good striker to replace him.

Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2015 Backroom Posted April 26, 2015 Rudy has been sensational here as has rhodes, sure rhodes approach is far better for the fans but I wouldn't blame either for driving round premier league grounds begging for a move. Rudy has been wanting a move since January and has still for me at least been Very good on the pitch since then. Wish them both the very best and I would hope it's here but we all know Rudy is goner. As I said in the other thread if we could keep one it would be rhodes and I expect that to be the case.
broadsword Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Get the teansfer embargo lifted in next twelve months? That will take some doing. Perhaps turning ewood into a chicken farm would help. Not sure where we'd keep them on match day. Just close a stand down maybe. unless revenue miraculously sky rockets or our high earners get ebola and die in next 6 weeks id suggest we'll still have lumbago in 24 months never mind 12

Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2015 Backroom Posted April 26, 2015 I actually agree the sooner the better Want him to stay but dragging it out ends bad for everyone
Bucksrover Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Poor professionalism from Gestede. Shows how little class he has as a character compared to Rhodes who has been prolific for years rather than Gestede's one or two seasons. Hope we cash in on Gestede ASAP. And would laugh hard if he goes back to being the premiership bench warmer we bought for pennies
Blue blood Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I can think of a ton of players who the curse of Ewood struck and they were poor for other clubs after leaving. But can anyone think of a player who we've held on to and it being a mistake? Am struggling to think of any...
roverandout Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Benni McCarthy, his stock seemed to dip when we could have sold him when he was hitting the highs at rovers
Blue blood Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Benni McCarthy, his stock seemed to dip when we could have sold him when he was hitting the highs at rovers Good one, thanks. Although somehow we still managed to get 2.5 mill for him as I recall. Not bad business, but yes, should have got rid earlier. Perhaps the list is small because we were a smaller premership club for most of my lifetime, and thus more likely to sell.
Backroom Mike E Posted April 26, 2015 Backroom Posted April 26, 2015 Didn't we sell Kuqi for a profit and he scored just as much (about 10-12 goals) for Palace?
tomphil Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I think Kuqi was pretty useless lumbering around outside the box but had a real knack of throwing himself on the end of things in it. Probably the opposite of Brown and unlike Ward and one or two others who were just all around useless.
Exiled in Toronto Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Are we allowed to swap players under FFP? In which case the price for Gestede isn't 7 million, it's a box-to-box midfielder, a commanding centre-half and a young prospect or two from the fringes of a lower prem squad
Backroom Tom Posted April 26, 2015 Backroom Posted April 26, 2015 Which would in total cost more in wages than Rudy does. Best hope is a large chunk of cash and a player thrown in. We badly need some pace, wonder if Hoilett fancies coming back a little sheepishly
chris_h Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Understand there is strong PL interest in one of our 'starlets' in particular. Would be no surprise to see this reported in press before the week is out. Bump

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 27, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted April 27, 2015 Might as well, hope he gets a swansong against Ipswich. He's been a good player for this club.
Gav Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/david-dunn-blackburn-rovers-2426477.aspx Dunn leaving at the end of the season... Great servant to the football club, yes he could have played more and shouldn’t have left under Souness, but still we’ll probably never see another player in a Blue and White shirt that plays as many games as Dunny. He deserves his own thread.

He deserves his own thread. Very talented lad was Dunny. Shame really as he had the skills to unlock defences and would have been in demand higher up for that reason alone if managing his career differently. Of course he deserves his own thread. Top player for the Rovers. Shame some of the memories have been sullied by later years.
chris_h Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/david-dunn-blackburn-rovers-2426477.aspx Dunn leaving at the end of the season... A good player, a nice lad and a proper Rover. I wonder what the future holds for him?
tomphil Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Times up but it's probably been either the money side of things or the manager that's kept him out the last few months. Still had something to contribute if he was fit so there is the usual feeling of farce about the last 3rd of the season, oh how we could have done with a bit of flair. It's nice to be bold now and again ! Good luck Dunny, fully expect to see you playing regularly somewhere soon.
Bucksrover Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Might as well, hope he gets a swansong against Ipswich. He's been a good player for this club. Don't mind giving him a standing ovation at half time and a lead role in the lap of honour at the end, but in terms of playing I would rather we play a youngster who could have a future with us.

Bucksrover Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Might be on your own there. Have you no soul? Hear what you're saying, but the club is in a desperate state - what is more likely to convince fans to buy a season ticket for next year - watching Dunn who won't be there, or a young exciting prospect?!
ABBEY Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 er ..no matter if we win a 100-99 thriller or dunny plays ,I somehow don't think the Ipswich will hold much sway .
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Hear what you're saying, but the club is in a desperate state - what is more likely to convince fans to buy a season ticket for next year - watching Dunn who won't be there, or a young exciting prospect?! Neither tbh. It's a meaningless game (for us) and one of our best players in recent years last ever game for us. Play him for as long as he can.
