Coyle said "It is important that we try and bring some good players to the club that can add to the very good players that we already have in the squad.

"We'll work with the funds that are made available to us and do our very best to get those players in that can excite the fans and try and put a team together".
Some telling words in there -
  • try and bring some good........to add to the very good.......... (sounds like a downgrade to me)
  • We'll work with the funds.....(not a lot to spend methinks)
  • .....and try and put a team together.......(Blackpool all over again?)

He sounds bullish but let's see how excited we get about the transfer business he concludes

No interest in Barnes according to Al

What has this got to do with me? If you mean Nixon please do not use my name. It's insulting!

From Today Sun paper

Coyle will make Spurr his 1st signing.

Coyle is not keen on selling Hanley to Derby

Also Steve Bruce at Hull wants to sign Nick Powell.

We're signing Spurr! Halleluah! If that doesn't sell thousands of ST's then nothing will.

Clearly promotion is not on our minds.

Spurr as a squad player is excellent for the Championship - all depends on whether we bring in another recognised left back as first choice or not.

The next few weeks will be very interesting - but possibly not in a good way.

We're going to need Spurr next season and they shouldn't have let his contract run out really considering the mess we are in. It's going to be all hands to the pump and we know he can at least do a job. Wouldn't blame him one bit if he's got a decent offer somewhere else.

Just remember folks that even when the likes of him leave it'll be another cheaper downgrade to replace :(

End of August? Hel'll need "at least 10 games", then at least "until Christmas", then "he's only had one transfer window, see what happens in the January window FFS", and finally, "if we are still in the bottom 3 by the end of February" then we should act. Then when it's too late "well, it's too late now".

We had the right manager, with the right contacts, the right ideas, the right focus on fitness, the right philosophy of "no excuses, this club should not accept mediocrity", and they didn't give him the backing to make it to pre-season.

Now we are told we might not be ready for the start of the season. I guess when the owners have @#/? away two months from notice he was going, and a month after he left, it's a case of no @#/? Sherlock.

The very least we should be expecting is a fit and motivated side being put on the field. Fingers crossed everyone.

Unfortunately Chaddy lost any credibility when he proudly proclaimed he was boycotting and Coyle was a disgrace, only for him to delete all evidence of it 48 hours later and back the decision.

Unfortunately again, we all saw it.
