Stokes to leave Rovers by mutant contest.

http://dailym.ai/2uqJnF0

It has made my morning to discover that the parasitic failure will be gone. Is there any evidence of a large pay off? Might it not be that TM has won a battle of wills and he has realised that TM will let him and his stinking bad attitude rot in the reserves for two years? If he had stayed and dug his heels in he would be thirty by the time his contract was up, with practically no games and no goals in three years, meaning even Hibs wouldn't want him after that kind of failure. His career would be over. Tactically there is no need for a pay off here - if Stokes ever has even the slightest desire to play league football again he either has to start acting like a professional at Rovers (no chance) or terminate his contract by mutual consent. No need for a pay off, Stokes does not have a hand to play.

Says relegation clause so he should walk away near enough empty handed if that's he what insisted on when signing, 'let me go for fee' if relegated type thing. Sadly that won't be the case and it was floating around not long ago he'd turned down 400k pay off.

How much does he owe Elvis and the court fees ?

The Daily Record report he's agreed a severance package.  It does sicken me to a large extent that he'll walk away with anything given his attitude.  There is a large part of me that agrees with the stick him in the reserves to rot unless he wants to walk.  However the reality is if we owe him say £1m over the next 2 years, and can pay him half of that, it's more budget for Mowbray and a problem off the books.

I would imagine the best he has got from this is half his remaining contract paid off on a lower rate following a relegation release clause. The guy doesn't have a leg to stand on after the shambolic commitment he has shown here.

Having said that I believe he could have worked out here and being a useful player last season. He started well but then Coyle, who signed him in the first place, just dropped him and that was that. Bizzare. Hopefully he is the last of this type of signing.

Its amazing that people like Cheston keep telling us that we need to be run on a sensible footing, need to live within out means, etc etc. and yet once again we're finding a big chunk of money under the mattress to pay off a waste of space player.

Lets for arguments sake say we're going to be handing Stokes £500,000 to clear off and leave us with 1 recognised forward. Where has that money come from? Is Mowbray using up a big chunk of his transfer pot just to get rid of him at a time when we're critically short on bodies? Or is this cash coming from elsewhere.

The money paid out to Stokes, Coyle, Stewart, Hendry and Hughes in the last few months might have come in very handy in the January transfer window to keep us in the Championship....somehow I don't think it would ever have materialised.

Money that never seems to be available for transfer fees, infrastructure improvements or recruiting competent directors to run the club always seems to become available to pay off the expensive mistakes!

The amount of people at all levels at Ewood who've been paid off in the last 7 years must be a record within football and a staggering amount of money.

I'd just love to see the trail........

A man with no footballing experience or qualifications and yet as it stands remains the only official active director at the club.

If he had anything to do with the appointment of Coyle and all his staff and sanctioning the Stokes deal then he should be down the road with them. Ineptitude of a staggering scale costing this club millions at a time when he preaches a need for sensible financial management and cutbacks.

If he didn't have anything to do with those appointments then he should still go because it shows we've got a flawed and doomed to fail structure still in place with one powerless director and other people calling the shots from the shadows.

At the next opportunity, no doubt he will be asked. The standard answer will arrive " There is no point looking at what has happened in the past, we must look to the future". That irritates me so much, as it leaves him unaccountable yet again.

Hunt, Singh, Shaw, Agnew, Myers, Cheston, Senior   all spouted the same.  All plonked in the firing line by those really responsible and all with the honourable exception of Mr Myers just made the problems worse before being sacrificed or engineering their pay offs.

Almost all posters on the site said the Stokes signing was a bad move, he had an assault charge hanging over him and was forever out on the p1ss, recipe for disaster..

Almost all posters on the site said the Coyle appointment was a bad move, he had a terrible record and his integrity was called into question during his time at Wigan, recipe for disaster..

£250 x 7000 = £1.75m - probably the amount of cash Cheston is earning currently + Stokes and Coyles pay offs.

I can't bring myself to contribute to the the wages of an inept financial director who thinks running the club on payday loans is an option, who thinks Owen Coyle was the 'standout candidate', who doesn't know the job title or name of the Venky stooge who's actually running things on the ground..

Why is he still in a job?

500+ pages on transfers, just goes to show that most fans couldn't care less as long as the football club keeps ticking over, sadly I can't get past the fact Venkys have destroyed the club, destroyed the town and continue to try and destroy Jack Walkers legacy, but thats just me..

Amidst all the Smoke ' n' Mirrors of an expected  promotion the club is still being robbed left, right and centre. We simply can't escape the sad facts of what has previously gone on and continues to unabated.

Behind the scenes the Leeches continue to slowly bleed us dry.

Rotten to the Venky core..As you were.

To be fair, only about 100 pages are on transfers, the rest is all concrete invitations and the like.

One simple bit of Maths, he's cost us £156,000 per goal, if he is on £12k, probably more with signing on fee

Unbelievably a lot of fans feel the same way.

"Looking to the future" only works if there is a clear watershed moment and a new footing based on either a change of very senior personnel or operating environment - and the line cannot be redrawn every 6 months. Certainly not if the key decision makers remain constant. Well, not with any credibility.

It was supposed to say Cheston, Stokes and Coyles wages  £1.75m

But you get my drift.

I am sorry I don't see the down side of Stokes going. He clearly does not want to be here. I am disgusted we have to pay him off though, but for the people upset about our numbers or lack there of I wouldn't quite worry yet. We have a very strong starting 11 for the opening day, Samuel is coming in any day now, I wouldn't mind a right back in Caddis could be a decent option. We just need to be very shrewd in the loan market. I would like to see 3 loans coming in. I always felt Adam Armstrong was a completely unrealistic signing. Toney from Newcastle could be interesting. If our 3 strikers are Samuel, Graham, Toney I am a happy chappy. All that is missing in my eyes after that is a back up left back and a fast winger. I do like Jamie Walker but i can't see if happening.

Be nice if Jack Doyle could step up to the LB spot but he looked out of sorts vs Barrow.

I thought Pemberton was a good winger solution too, but the club thinks differently.

Think we'll need another cb too if any of our current 4 get sold.

Agreed, I would like to see Tomlinson, Doyle, Wharton giving a look at this season. In other news, our ex Premier League target Cedric Mongongu there is out of contract and has expressed his interest in playing in the UK. He has interest from Ligue 2 and National in France after a few disappointing season. Equipe mentions that is interest from a couple of unnamed UK Clubs at the moment from Champ and League 1. Will keep everyone posted when the news comes out in France.

Are Mulgrews midfield days behind him I wonder?

I would like to see a midfield "Xmas tree" like this , if the need arose.

              Smallwood

 Whittingham       Mulgrew

                 Dack
