Cheston comes across very well in his reply to Kate Hollern........................................ as a pompous jumped up little nomark accountant playing at being a big boy.

Take him to the cleaners Kate and don't be fooled into being his postman/person. Make the tight-wad pay for his own stamps - presumably Venkys can't under FFP...................................

I don't know what's worse.

That Cheston actually believes what he's writing, thinks that the current situation is acceptable, and actually thinks that the Rovers fanbase are over-reacting, making issues out of nothing and that this will just blow over and we'll become a normal club and everyone will live happily ever after whilst we drop into the 3rd tier.

Or alternatively that he doesn't really believe what he's writing and actually is so out of touch with reality that he thinks people will just swallow whatever he offers with his meaningless letters and interviews and that he doesn't need to do anything constructive and can keep on coming out with this stuff.

Either way, in his short time at the top of the club he's shown himself to be completely incompetent. Much more of this nonsense and he'll be in the firing line too.

Exactly.

Unless he stands up to everything that is wrong with the club/owners he's finished in football after this last pay-day.

Incompetent or complicit in the deception makes no odds.

I see that Mike Cheston's letter to Kate Hollern ends with him suggesting the she forwards a letter to all her constituents and states that his response will hopefully address their concerns. I take it we are all now happy that everything is hunky dorey?

Thank god Meaningless Mike has put the record straight.

I hate to say it, but I think it's the other way round. Being a shield for such ignorant incompetence will get him a lot of job offers!

That letter is exactly what Mike Cheston is: a joke.

When telling this story in the future his name will be one I say with a scorn. I have lost all faith in him and now believe him to be part of the problem. There's no way he's not complicit in this whole sorry tirade. The Spreadsheet is as big of a crook as the rest of them.

That letter is woefully bad. It says nothing and changes nothing.

It provides no reassurance and tries to suggest that supporters concerns are only limited to results since the start of the season. As though we are all fickle folk!

It addresses none of the long-standing concerns and the decline of the club (and impact on the town) and hides behind FFP.

By sticking to the FFP line, it does two things: it attempts to lower expectations, thereby belittling anybody who expects better, and it sets up the blame to be placed on stayaways fans who will be portrayed as the cause of our low income (forcing us to cut our cloth).

It's nothing less than you'd expect though and is simply politics being played out in public.

He does have a point about finding out about the letter in public before he received the communication directly. However, maybe he now knows how footballers feel when they find out that they are being sold - by reading the paper!

A clinical business strategist some described him as on twitter which seems about right. Only interested in the noughts and crosses on the balance sheet as that's what makes him look good in the owners eyes.

Anything else he neither knows anything about nor cares so all we'll get are the odd empty words as nothing more than lip service because he has to say something now and again. Meanwhile he can carry on riding the gravy safe in the knowledge he's cutting costs on the ground and helping rake in millions from sales.

We should be careful about vilifying Cheston. Just like the manager, he's symptomatic of the shambolic infrastructure set-up by the owners. He's a puppet with no real power of his own, just a bean-counter who's there as a box-ticking exercise. We've seen what happens to self-respecting individuals who dare to question the Venky mob (Lambert, Williams, Finn). Well all's said and done, someone's got to fill the role. If not him, it would be someone else of that ilk. Let's not lose sight of who the real villains of the piece are.

Cheston is 100% complicit with Venky's.

Coyle might not be but Cheston is.

Debatable. If anything, I would argue the opposite.

Coyle's the SEM client who pleaded ignorance about his ties to said agency and was brought in from left-field while Cheston was still on his hols.

Thats a stinker of a letter.

Basically scolding her for putting the letter on social media before sending it to him.

Shows they are uncomfortable about the bad press. Lets keep at it!

Funny how FFP affects us a lot, but appears to not matter to the other league clubs buying our players.
