Venkys - Welcome or Not?

Venkys - Welcome or unwelcome?

  1. 1. If Venkys apologised and stated that they would attend the next home game, how would you feel?

    • Hostile towards them
    • Willing to forgive and draw a line
    • Wouldnt care at all

LT article plus actual comment. Frightening. The 'genuine' fan is Los Angeles Rover. A regular at Ewood no doubt!

Rich , the remaining Venkys Out brigade are very much in the minority.
The Rovers Trust shouldn't be asking what's their motive.. they should be getting down on bended knee and thanking the Venkys for pulling us through this turbulent time
It's not the Venkys that should be apologising, to a certain extent it's us fans for continuing the vendetta against them way after they had tried to rectify their naive mistakes early doors.
But since the Gary Bowyer appointment ( credit to Gary for steadying the ship) have many mistakes actually been made ( save for the mysterious appointment of table tennis champ Coyle) ?
They've maintained a Category 1 Academy, respecting uncle Jack's legacy, and allowed a stability to settle around Ewood. Vast sums have been spent on the players to give the gaffer a respectable squad full of players with a passion for the club, and TM has certainly put the pride back in the club.
Rich. You'll find that the vast majority of the genuine fans want to welcome the Venkys back and show our appreciation.
Let's get behind our club, our team, but also show the owners due respect and appreciation

‘Rich , the remaining Venkys Out brigade are very much in the minority.’

Generally it’s the standard tripe from that fella, but the quote above I’d say he’s pretty much right. I rarely come across anyone with overly hostile things to say these days - ‘look at Bolton’,they’ve put more money in than Jack ever did’ and, of course - ‘they were badly... ‘

If we have no alternative, we have no alternative - but we fell to the Championship, and before that League 1 solely because of them. Whatever Steve Kean failed at, he was completely their project and they bear full responsibility for all of that. After which they disappeared and pretty much never said a word again. Do we have to be thankful that they haven't folded the club? Pretty sad state of affairs if that is the actual fear.

That is a good representation and summation Ian.

I agree, I'd say that article & the opinions therein accurately sum up the turmoil our great club has been put through. I for one am hopeful (as opposed to confident) of a brighter future given the arrest of the slide these last 3 years, albeit being reluctantly resigned to the likelihood that it will include our current owners for the foreseeable.

Generally a well balanced article, however as for praising the ‘stable management off the field’, I would argue that we are still very poorly run on the commercial side, largely down to a Chief Exec with a tin ear when it comes to the fanbase and local demographics.

Coyle 8 months?  Seemed an eternity. Otherwise fair assessment.

The spectre of Coyle still lingers. That relegation he engineered cost £6m in lost tv revenue alone plus other expenses in paying off some of the garbage like Stokes who he brought in.

Looking forward to sharing some stories of how bad it really was, be interesting to hear the type of things people would like to know.

The protest

The investigation

Transfers

Board room battles

Communication with the owners

Manager merry go around

Takeover talks

Hopefully will get an opportunity to touch of things people were not aware of,

Guess someone should tell Elizabeth Fritzel to stop being so ungrateful after all he kept the lights on , fed her and clothed her what more does she want. She needs to get a grip and be thankful he didn’t kill her

Disgusting. That “fan” hasn’t got a clue what he/she is talking about.

Utterly utterly clueless. Stockholm syndrome taken to the extreme.

Thank Venkys? What for? Not finishing the club off completely?

No Rovers fan should ever get down on their knees for these owners (or any owners). There is no need in any case. Thanks to these arrogant fools our once proud club has already been brought to its knees.

”Rich” indeed.

Hi Glen. I'd like to hear about any crazy things you heard Shebby say in relation to Rovers/football matters. He made himself out to be an expert but the way he came across at KGH says otherwise. Were there things that he said to you that left you baffled or concerned? I'd like to know what his views were on Rovers' transfer dealings back then too.

Also, could you expand on how farcical the situation was at the club with Agnew and Shebby in the same boardroom? I listened to the Nick Harris Podcast the other day and he mentioned how Agnew would decide one thing, Shebby another, and nobody at the club would know who to follow as they didn't know who was in charge!

Finally, could you tell us about some of the intimidation tactics that were used by others to try and stop you from protesting or putting the dossier together? A couple of posters on here alluded to receiving letters/threats. Fair enough if you can't or don't want to go into it.

Cheers.
