Trinidad Rover Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Wonderful for Adam and our academy. Imagine this will be the first of many trophies in his career. 1 Quote
bigbrandjohn Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago So sad not to see him in the celebrations. So proud of him. One of a kind talent. 2 Quote

simongarnerisgod Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago i hope this palace victory brings an end to the mania that possesion is everything, hopefully a new era of tactics has risen with the main focus being scoring goals despite not having much of the ball, palace played a retro game of long balls down the flanks and mateta running the channels, like football used to be 4 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Delighted for Wharton and Palace winning the FA cup and they deserved it. Dean Henderson was outstanding 2 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Gutted for Adam that he didn't get to take part in the celebrations on the pitch, but huge congratulations to him and Palace. Always good to see someone different lift a trophy, and Palace have never won anything major. They deserve it. 1 Quote

Probably take success for granted, seeing Rovers' rich history across the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. But blew my mind a little than a fairly prominent club like Palace had never won a proper trophy in their history until today. 2 Quote

A major domestic trophy would be the top division, FA Cup or League Cup, in my opinion. 1 Quote

roversfan99 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Cryptic, but even so, makes absolutely no difference to us unfortunately. Might be used to further justify us getting a poor fee though. 6 Quote
Wheelton Blue Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Any Rovers fan - certainly those of us who were there that day - being 'delighted' for Crystal Bloody Palace winning anything, needs to give their head a wobble. 5 Quote

I mean, I wasn't there, it was maybe 3 years before I got into football. But from what I infer from the moaning I see, a lot of people are holding a grudge against them for more than 30 years because a referee handled the game poorly and cost us promotion. Which doesn't sound like good reasoning. I'm sure someone can tell me what I'm missing about it. Edited 9 hours ago by bluebruce Quote

Maybe it's a bit of envy also, Wharton should be celebrating winning the FA Cup with Rovers but thanks to the chicken overlords any opportunities for anything like that have been extinguished. Deliberately. Edited 8 hours ago by Upside Down Quote

Agreed. Not even sure why this thread still gets much action. He left. Yes, he was pushed towards the door, but he left. He signed the contract (and his agent was doing a very good job of raising his profile in the 6 months prior to the exit). Good luck to him. I even hope to see him back at Rovers at some point in the future, but so long as he isn't here then I have no reason to hope that his clubs do well. I was hoping City smashed them. Find Palace fans insufferable. 2 Quote

I wonder what could possibly cause this fixation... 4 Quote
philipl Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Glad City lost. Painful to see Adam in any shirt other than a Rovers shirt. 1 Quote

Find Palace fans insufferable. Because people are proud of and interested in a generational talent. I hold no animosity towards Palace - I'm jealous that they're a club seemingly won so well but I'd be pleased as punch if I was a fan of theirs and had taken advantage of our shambles to land Wharton. I find it strange anyone would want City to win any game of football. For City also read Newcastle, PSG, etc. 2 Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 1 hour ago Moderation Lead Posted 1 hour ago If nothing else, the goal from Palace was an antidote to aimless passing for the sake of it, with some quick wing play and a smart finish. Moving the ball quickly with purpose, been a while since I’ve seen that at the top level! 4 Quote
