Mates there and I asked for a half time assessment

He says he thinks there is a third Wharton brother, Scott's twin who has replaced Scott as he can't be the same player he looks that bad 😂

Barnes ok but will definitely need a loan he said, he won't get much game time here unless it's just cup games.

Says ennis looks lively   likes to press and works hard, Hedges is impressing, A Wharton pretty quite and not good defensively, Garret OK. Buckley poor, Brittain good same as Batty

So that’s the problem. Glad we brought in another keeper.

TBF the comments have been that the keeper didn’t cover himself in glory but also that the back line is all over the place so I don’t think it’s been great all round.

Frankly we’re very lucky not to have conceded another two. Batty at fault for their second, Wharton Sr equally not covering that well.

Barnes playing pretty well (not brilliant) but being left exposed by Brittain imo

What has happened to Scott Wharton? Before last season he looked a very solid Championship centre back but now he has turned into a liability.

Marine are two leagues below where Southport were though.

Oh ok. Perhaps he'll only get sold for £5m then. The point is you shouldn't judge the loan. I bet when Raya was turning out for Southport, no-one predicted he would be a Spanish international and a £30m player.

Half time. Good game for the neutral. Walsall happy for us to have the ball in our half. Catching us on the break and they have some nice footballers.

When we press we look decent with Brittain and Hedges linking nicely on the right. Buckley looks a shadow of his former self, Adam Wharton similar to Saturday - a mixed bag. Garrett working hard in a Travis type way. Gilsenan looks a handful and Ennis showed nice quick feet for his goal . When fit I see him in the Danny Graham type role. Strong and can hold the ball up.

Jack Walker stand looks pretty full.
