Out:

  • Weimann
  • Baath
  • Dolan
  • Dennis
  • Woodrow
  • Beck
  • Sanderson
  • Cozier Duberry

In:

  • De Neve
  • Tavares

Simple maths so far suggests we are WAY behind anything like being in a stronger position than last year.

It's been a good summer though and at least we have 90% of our business done.

Just hope it’s not Derby he goes to.Β

Their deluded fans are driving me mad on social media thinking they are going to be a top six club all of a sudden!

I do have to laugh at them they'd give Leeds a run for their money their delusion is on a par with Coventry fans all thinking how 'massive' they are.

Whilst most of us are narked at losing Batth and Weimann to them it needs pointing out both came in here as squad men yet you'd think they'd just ruined our team by paying 5 million a piece for them reading some of their lots comments.

Seem more happy to piss Rovers off again than your average dingle.

Did we even put a bid for him? do we really need a centre midfielder signing right now looking at the situation logically guys and girls. we need one centre midfielder signing and we made that with Tavares. We don't need another centre midfielder signings, we need to sell a couple of them in Buckley and JRC. Don't understand why so many of you are so angry.Β

We need a right winger and centre midfielder signings which I see as the priorities at the minute whilst we need another forward and number 10.Β Β

any other questions please feel to ask and I will answer when next back on the site

The LT doesn't have the budget to do that and there is very little money around local journalism and in fact even big news companies have cut their numbers of reports.Β

Which is it Chaddy ? At one point in that post you say β€œ We don’t need a centre midfielder β€œ, later on you say β€œ WeΒ need a centre midfielder signing β€œ.

Only 4 of those I'd be anywhere near interested in retaining, and only two for definiteΒ

Which is a fair comment, and most fans would probably agree.Β  It just showcases how very poor our recruitment was last season, cobbling together cheap loans or even cheaper freebees.

Nevertheless, they still need to be replaced, preferably with better quality players, on the same or probably even a further reduced budget.Β

Because your point makes no sense. You're assuming he'll have a bad season next time out due to his age and there's no evidence to date to suggest that will be the case.

I'm guessing then, you'd didn't like Kevin Moran or Tony Gale either?

I am not assuming that at all. I am saying that it's just as possible for Batth to have a bad season, as a good one. And that this possibility increases with age. Let's just stop the back and forth as it is getting boring.

It emerged in February that Eustace offered to resign in the premier Summer over the slow transfer activity and the lack of support/ambition the club were showing. I really wonder now if Batth and Weimann were appeasement signings done to placate Eustace to prevent him leaving at a crucial time and that Gestede didn't actually want them so in turn low balled the offer made to them both for another season.

Quite often there are clauses in older players contracts such as a number of games which automatically trigger another one. It appears nothing of the kind offered to Batth and Weimann.

My theory is supported by the latest 'project' as esposed by the three stooges where Rovers are looking to buy/produce youngsters and increase their value to be sold on.

Also known as the agent commission model.Β

We are probably angry because a small club like Oxford can show ambition, spend more and most likely pay higher salaries than Rovers .

Does that not annoy you a little?Β

Yes you can he knows what he’s walked into no sympathy at all. It’s actually a win win for any manager. Come in collect a wage do well you will be sought after and leave. Do poorly itl be on the club regardlessΒ

Going back - I wonder if Lambert paid a ”get-out” fee or if he was the inspiration for the conditionality around JDT, JE and probably VI?

Quitting is not an option 🀣

But again how can he be surprised? The JDT saga was played out in the media to the point he was essentially gagged. JE leaving again a team in playoff to a team in relegation

val would/should have done his research on rovers it’s all there to find so he would and should have been wary as to what he was walking into. Manager out of work just want back into workΒ

Did the club do a presser while he was in the middle of his post?Β

Chaddy: We don't need a centre midfielder.

Club: We are currently tracking 3 options for CM.

Chaddy: We need at least one new CM.

Any port in a storm.

VI was unemployed for some time,Β  Whatever amountΒ  (within reason) he is being paid, he'll stick it out for a couple of seasons I expect.

If he bombs, any scenario is possible.

If he does well (no barometer, sorry), hisΒ professionalism will be tested, that's for sure, whether he quits or is (possibly) "poached" as was Eustace, will determine the ambition of both himself and the club.

Both may be totally different.
