Our season has to turn at some point.

Hope we can find some form early on and they are working hard down at training. I'd be starting kargbo Saturday. Get some early pace and momentum

It will, I predict our fist win will be on the 30th September at home to Swansea.

Could see us going for a 3-4-3.

Maybe these:

Toth

Miller, Hyam, McLaughlin, three at the back

Alebiosu wingback right, Ribeiro/Pickering wingback left

Tronstad Tavares (central mid)

Kargbo, Henriksson, Cantwell (three attackers)

I like this but would go 3-5-2 myself with Cantwell in a “free” role in midfield. Watched Birmingham v Ipswich and they lacked control in the middle of the park - win that battle we win the game in my opinion. Birmingham play with intensity & get the ball forward quickly but we’ve shown in the past we’re usually better when teams play on the front foot against us. Teams like WBA last week who played shit house dirty tactics and sit back, we struggle against.

                      Toth

       Miller Hyam McLoughlin

Alebiousu                         Riberio

        Travis Tavares Cantwell

                Ohashi    Kargbo

This is based on the performances last week - Hedges simply isn’t good enough to start at Championship level and Tronstad was poor.

Travis to make his last stand in blue & white - we need his and Millers’ battling qualities in this game. We also need Cantwell’s creativity & Kargbo’s pace to get us forward and up the pitch.

Bucking the trend of doom & gloom on here…

2-1 Rovers

Trouble is, we can't rely on other clubs' over-confidence to work in our favour for 45 more games this season. Imagine being able to survive simply on the incompetence and ineptitude of your competition...Ain't happening in the 'eat you up and spit you out' Championship, that's for sure.

Cheers Venksters.

DESPICABLE VENKYS OUT!

I was talking about one game.

Well done, I just can't do it anymore

Who did you used to go to Rovers with? Friends? Family? On your own?

Just interested if you miss that social side as its the reason I go. Obviously want us to win but old habits die hard

Birmingham have some serious momentum

Confidence and momentum can take you a long, long way especially in the Championship.

Conversely, many team struggle to recover from a poor start.

From what I've seen of Brum this season, very Impressed with them - very well coached, play with real intensity and play some excellent football.  Kyogo and Stansfield are huge threats and to me there are 30 to 40 goals between them.  Neumann and Osayi-Samuel at the back look outstanding free transfer signings!!!  Think they'll be disappointed with play-offs and will be gunning for top 2 and I wouldn't bet against them.

Brum by at least 2 clear goals.  3-1 to Brum if the footballing gods are kind to Rovers.

Sorry to be Mr Negative but I thought we were tripe against West Brom. Tons of possession, did zero with it, one shot in 99 minutes. Once Albion got their goal they were happy to sit back and let us have the ball, seemed to cotton on we didn't know what to do with it.

Ah yes, that well known tactic of going 1-0 and then sitting back.

That's never bitten a team in the rear.

The fact of the matter is, there was v. little between us and WBA last week. This talk of them "ripping us apart" or "being happy to sit back and see out the game" are just silly.

Look, I'm as negative as the next fan (moreso when it comes to our owners), but it's not as doom and gloom on the pitch as many are making out.

Barring a rash of injuries I think we'll just about be ok this season - I'd be more confident in saying that if we sign an actual RW.

I'm very bleak about our long term prospects, but I try not to worry about that too much.

Anyone wanting Rovers to lose a game needs to go and play on the M6, end of, unless it means the inbreds down the road being negatively impacted, and even that is hard!

It is a horrible, horrible waiting game for us to be rid of these owners, but have to cling on to the hope that one day they will be gone, and we hopefully are able to move forward.

So, come Saturday, when "Big" club roll in to town and the referee blows his whistle, I don't give a dam about anything else but Rovers trying to win a game and send them packing.

Rovers to win 5-1, courtesy of 5 different scorers being Captain Dom, useless Hedges, couldn't hit a barn door Gueye, uninterested Tronstaad and "big" club keeper palming a long throw in to his own goal.

Mostly friends but a lot of the tine on my own. It's hard to get people from London to talk about Rovers let alone come and watch them.

It's a fair point though, I don't really miss that social side as I've never really had it so its easier for me to bin it off.

Can I at least go and play on the M25 to reduce travel costs?

Be my formation but I'd start Gueye alongside Ohashi and have Kargbo on the bench nd Tronstad instead of Travis.

I always feel like kargbo has 45 minutes in him and doesn't get long enough to make an impact especially if we're a goal down

Gueye and Ohashi together hasn’t worked so far. Possibly because they’ve never actually been played as a pair, but one playing behind the other.

Ominous reading this after one league game 😅 it does somehow already feel like we're in a months long spiral though.

As poor a Rovers side as I have seen in many a year tbh.

Will the home crowd manage a grumble if we lose again?

They didn't rip us apart, they were no great shakes either, but notwithstanding that, we couldn't even lay a glove on them.
