Without wishing to put fuel on this particular fire - makes you wonder if this is why Jack Straw is making renewed efforts to get the FA to confirm their findings on the take over. All of this is obviously a huge shame for all us fans - but poor Jack Walker - his memory doesn't deserve this.

Only a few weeks since I was shot down for hoping the whole truth would come out about the take-over! I was told it would "derail our promotion bid"!

"Blackburn failed to impress" states BBC which I think is a good comment for the performance I saw tonight:

Pedersen - was a good player years ago but now lost it, doesn't care anymore and should not be in the team. King - too weak & greedy, can't hit the target, need to loan him out to Accy Stanley (his level). Dann, Hanley & Lowe - did MA say " aim for Shittu's head"? because that all you did. Got to include Kean in this too.

Shocking performance with the exception of Dunn. Only 60% fit yet he played with his heart and was man of the match. If only we had 11 Dunnies!

“Our lads gave everything tonight, I couldn’t ask any more for effort or desire but it just wasn’t to be"

Really?!

I could ask for a LOT more in the way of effort and desire from that shower out there tonight.

I stick to my view. Not one correct decision since purchase. Incompetence beyond comparison.

Destruction of an institution. Alienation of fanbase & revenue stream.

Hope we don't get beat on Sunday.

F you! Venkys.

True but the bigger question is are/were Venky's willing accomplices or clueless patsie's

made it down the sports bar, haymarket to see last 15 or so minutes. Paid £4.40 for a bottle of corona, eye-watering.

First time I'd seen us play in a while. Christ on a stick, I can see why we're having problems scoring. @#/? me, please remind me what it is that Pedersen does again? Because whatever it is, it's not worth the money we pay.

There was a general apathy about the side and lack of urgency, how many of them really care?

At home to Millwall, just 180 minutes from the final, and that is the best we can muster. Absolutely unreal, and I can't blame the fans for staying away. And I think if you are going to criticise stay-aways, you should at least have gone yourself.

We're in really deep brown stuff, we're there for the taking on Sunday, and I really can't bear to watch it. Whatever the answer is, I really don't believe it's Appleton.

This stuff will just keep getting worse until Venky's go.

Not bad, needs a good beat to it and maybe a brass section in the middle eight, what's the chorus go like :)

Devastated, the feeling tonight is worse than when Wigan beat us to send us down last season, no idea why, maybe it's because we could all see it coming all season. Tonight though I genuinely thought we would win and was really looking forward to a weekend in London watching our club play a local derby in the best stadium in England, can't see us having a chance like this for years.

Have to mention David Dunn though, the only player out there who looked to get the ball down and pass it. Deservedly our MOTM.

Jack Walker Upper tonight and the worst game of football I've ever seen. Clueless, lifeless, no spirit at all. Appleton reminds me of Bod, stood in his technical area, hands in pockets the whole game. Why do we only start playing in the last ten minutes ?? And who the hell was that Appleton brought on with 15 minutes to go when we were in the shiiit ? Never heard of him.

We're going down again, and we're gonna get bummed on Sunday.

Regularly finished mid table amongst the big boys, good board, decent fan base given the size of the town, usually the odd cup run.

LOOK AT US NOW, destroyed by those @#/?s from Pune

RIP ROVERS

No doubt that, judging by his post match comments, the team played exactly how Appleton told them to.

Agreed. Same way we've played in all the games recently. Keep it at 0-0 for as long as possible and hope we scab a goal. Doesn't work though when you go 1-0 behind. Summed it up for me when we made a couple of tackles in defence and we whacked it into the far corner, went out for a goal kick and he clapped it like sommat good had just happened.

Whats point in playing three strikers if you're just going to hoof it towards to 6ft + defenders.

“Our lads gave everything tonight, I couldn’t ask any more for effort or desire but it just wasn’t to be"

He makes it sound like we're some conference team (wont be long) who've just played against the hardest opposition of their lives and just come up short. I could ask for a lot fkin more. :( Millwall are bottom of the Championship form league ffs, they're not good, but we made them look it.

Bit of a u-turn from his Peterborough comments. At least in that match we scored a couple, didn't even manage that tonight.

Think I should give Best some credit, for a guy that's been out so long he worked his socks off but Shittu is just a beast so try as he might he wasn't going to win many of those headers

Great work for the shot he crafted as well and did well when he dropped deeper to get the ball, that was far too infrequent though in between the balls to Shittu's head

I think the one consistent trend over the last two and a bit years is that no matter how bad things are, there's a way for things to get worse. and there;s no opportunity for redemption that this club under venky's isn't capable of spurning.

just when you think we've hit the bottom we get worse. expect defeat on sunday.

at least we're spared the sight of the club's representatives having a beano at wembley

Pop quiz, who said that?

Arsene Wenger after his Arsenal side beat Bayern Munich away 2-0 but still went out...

Or Venky's idiot after crashing out of the cup at home against Milwall by playing the worst football most people have ever seen?

I know what you mean, this "effort and desire" lark could very easily see us relegated, it certainly doesn't help us play football!!!

I'm not directing the blame at the supporters for how the team played or for the management over the club, both of those topics have and will be covered ad nauseum, but this needs to be spoken about. We just had 10k show up for a winnable quarterfinal. You can say what you want about reasons for walking away, there are many legitimate ones, but if you do care about the club and want it to exist then you have to take a seriously look at how stayaways might impact the future.

Eddie, the situation is crystal clear. While the Indians own the club and continue to destroy it the fans won't return. Venkys will never be accepted by the people of Blackburn and if they attempt to recoup their losses by putting prices up next season then 10,000 will seem like a huge gate. Personally, I see no end to this spiral of decline until the Indian mob sell up and leave.

Tonight was the worst I have felt as a Rovers supporter in over half a century. We were discussing after the match that we were poor in the early 70s in the Third Division but at least the players, although not very good, put some effort into the game. Perhaps the fact that they lived locally and often mixed with fans had something to do with it. Apart from Dunny how many of these overpaid prima donnas really care about the club? After this game they will have got into their expensive cars and driven home to their fancy houses in Cheshire and the fat pay cheque will arrive at the end of the month win, lose or draw.

The only crumb of comfort is that we won't have to put up with the sight of Desai, the brothers Grimm and Shebby lording it around Wembley.
