I don't blame him for leaving at all.

Look at where we are and where we're heading under the owners and Kean, with no sign of imminent change.

If a big, big club like Man U comes in then, like Jones, you just don't turn down that opportunity as it may never come again.

But due to how keen David seems to be to get out of the club before it's too late, I can see him going to a Spurs or a Liverpool.

Nonesense - Jones has said he moved because it was an opportunity to go to a bigger club, play in the champs league & win trophys, unlike Liverpool.

Hoilett's dad should keep Junior here and show some loyalty, he should sign a new contract now, with a relegation release clause for x fee attached if he is worried about us going down. That way he is gauranteeing his lad will stay in the premier league. Doesnt matter what you say about the owners or manager, Hoilett is flourishing in our team and will continue to, it was also Kean that has given him alot of opportunities, unlike previous managers.

A move to say Tottenham could put the brakes on his careeer for 1-2 years. SIGN HIM UP!!!

Jones couldn't stand Kean and that is from the horses' mouth heard with my own ears.

Its sad, but I really don't either.

Nor do the 500 or so fans that fail to turn up with each passing game.

Play for an utter moron of a bandmaster whilst the ship sinks, or play for a maestro and bask in glory?

I always thought that, look at wolves away last season. When kean is celebrating Jones runs right past him and into the rest of the backroom staff. What makes it funny is he thinks Jones is heading for him (or so it looks anyway)

Onto the junior situation, surely deep down we all saw this coming. It's been building up to this for months now. We are probably at the point where he wouldn't sign for anything now. Shame as the club have invested much time and effort into him over the years (work permit issues etc)

And, if speculation and rumour is correct, neither can quite a few others in the first team squad.

If only they'd grow some balls, we'd be shut of Kean PDQ.

In all honesty Hughesy what have we got to offer? A club that is run by clowns in Pune who seem to think the jackboot is the answer to demonstrations and not communication. A manager who has the full support of the owners but is unable to lift the club from the relegation zone. The almost near certainty of Championship football next season and possibly worse to come. No wonder Jones wanted to go to a club where he could win things and I have not doubt that Hoilett will follow. The question is who will be next - Olsson ?, Nzonzi? Ultimately, who can blame any of them for wanting to get out of this madhouse. Let's be honest Hughesy, why would any player want to be associated with a club that seems to be in the gutter and a national laughing stock. I suspect his dad, quite rightly, thinks his son's future might flourish away from the insanity that has enveloped Ewood Park in the past twelve months.

Amen Parson, Amen.

Unfortunately, the genie is now out of the bottle.

Even if Rovers met every single demand from Junior, I'm almost certain he wouldn't sign.

The other big issue now is that he will likely opt to take no risk whatsover with that hamstring which tends to flare up, every now and then. He knows that if he tears that, he could be out for 2 to 3 months and more likely than not, would be half a yard off his pace.

I would think that he will be a big doubt for Saturday.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a hamstring he went off with but cramp. I saw him moments before he went off doing some stretches as if he had cramp and then he chased a long throw from Robbo and pulled up. He didn't however hold his hamstring or anywhere near the back of his leg at anytime hence my opinion that it was cramp rather than hamstring.

I'm gutted about junior, but like a lot on this thread, I can't blame the lad. Our club is two steps away from the doldrums. I actually braved the telegraph comments and almost dropped my dinner when someone on there is saying that the protesters should share some of the blame for him not signing! What has become of the Rovers fans?

If Hoilett does leave then why not play Olsson or Rochina on the left wing and sign a specialist left back in this summer.

If rovers/kean want a similar type of player to hoilett then why not go for Max Gradel??? former Leeds player who now plays for AS Saint-Etienne. very similar player to Hoilett imo!!!

'Yeah, we've given new contracts to Salgado, Nelsen and a few others, but Junior needs to concentrate on his football'.

Steve Kean, early 2011.

While he was busy buying the affections of the senior players, he neglected the crown jewel. That decision alone is now going to cost Rovers millions.

I think is symptomatic of the Venky's / SEM business model. Buy cheap, develop and sell. Its a bugger he won't sign that contract with the release in, now the return is a problem.

Funny thing is when this buy young, develop and sell idea as a way of funding the club (well until the untapped Indian market starts yielding some results) was floated it was seen as quite positive. In fact when you look what we have:

Talented youngsters,

Manager willing to put youngsters in the team

Manager who likes to play open attacking football,

Ball on the ground,

Expansion plans in India,

Fresh Ideas,

Comunicative Owners

You have to say most of us would have personally kicked Sam out and slammed the door behind him, and the Trust as well given that situation. So for me (and I was always hoping the trust would retain us and we could survive on a sustainable self funding business model) this is a case of be careful what you wish for, becuase you might actually get it.

Played 10, Won 1. But hey its not all about winning, football should be entertaining, right?

From one extreme to the other, it would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

Starting the season with the Clown Prince of Crap in charge already did that. This latest is just some more garnish.

Kean will be on a percentage of juniors fee...he'll tell venkys that e brought him in, developed him etc....sold in January.

I just have a horrible feeling the lack of communication from the owners means there could be some horrible skeletons in the closet.

Sorry Kamy - but it was widely reported that Hoilett himself wasn't prepared to talk contracts last Christmas. He was concerned about the number of games he would get - and wouldn't commit at that time.

So what was done during Feb. or March ?

Opinion is that Hoilett was keen to sign new improved terms then.
