MarkBRFC71 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Dear Venkys, You're going to have to replace a lot of players. But first, a manager.

Dan Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 And who should we play to avoid that situation then - in your view? Its a shame we only decided to start playing it on the floor once dunn and kalinic came off. Its like Sams having one big joke. Good Diouf and Niko up front, 442. Try and play a bit of football. The fact the Fat Sam is playing(and buying) Benjani shows that he has lost the plot. Roberts>>>>>>>>>Banjoni
Backroom Tom Posted October 24, 2010 Backroom Posted October 24, 2010 9 games gone, only out of the relegation zone by goal difference, the worst brand of football for a long time and Chelsea up next. I'm not enjoying this season but let's hope Sam (or someone else) can turn it around sharpish.
G Somerset Rover Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Looking at our fixtures, IMO if we don't beat Wigan (after a Chelsea bettering) then our next winnable game is a month later against Wolves. We could be fooked by December.
SamTheShrew Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Despite being behind for most of the 2nd half, we had ONE shot on target. ONE. atrocious
bigbrandjohn Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Hardly convincing victory. Hodgson is not long for the job. Could be a long winter for us. but it usually is, there are no push overs any more.
booth Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Liverpool couldn't buy a point until this game, and they've just taken all three from Rovers. Awful against a poor Liverpool team. Only for Robinson and some bad finishing by Liverpool it could have been embarrassing.

Roberts>>>>>>>>>Banjoni I don't see what Niko has done to justify a start, he's been poor this season and if Terry breathes on him he'll be on the deck. Chances are it will be one up top anyway.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Doesn't that have something to do with Liverpool not needing to push for more goals and we're looking to get back into the game? It's not as simple as "if we play like that we'll beat them every time". The game changes over 90 minutes. If we played like this in the first half we'd probably be even worse off right now. I'd rather see us play good football and try to win than play dismal tactics and play for a draw. I don't remember anyone saying "if we play like that we'll beat them every time". It was purely a point that we actually look pretty good when we keep it down and pass the ball. It's when we're being told to hoof the ball upfront, we end up losing possession, kicking the ball out of play and mis-passing the ball. 2 shots on goal playing our formation against a team who lost to Blackpool at home and were in the relegation zone. If we ever had a chance to beat Liverpool, today would have been the day. Unfortunately our negative tactics meant we were always going to loose and the sad thing is, we all knew it.
Backroom DE. Posted October 24, 2010 Backroom Posted October 24, 2010 I'm not going to repeat myself re: the first half, don't even want to remember it. Second half we did play better, we actually stopped HOOFING it and started playing it on the floor. However, before anyone lauds our second half performance as an improvement - other than our goal, when did we ever threaten Liverpool's goal? Did we have ANY chances other than our goal? I genuinely cannot remember any. We made the most average Liverpool team in years look amazing for 60 minutes today, and I can't see us ever scoring from open play with our current tactics or players. The Trust have made a huge, huge mistake not investing in us this summer, and they're now reaping what they sowed. We have no creativity, no skill and no cutting edge. Based on the last few performances you'd have to say it's a nailed on relegation fight this year. I haven't felt so down about Rovers since the dark times of Ince, I genuinely don't see where goals or wins are coming from, and I can't think of any teams in the league who I'd expect us to beat. Dreading next week
Mr. E Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Some people here joke when they say Robinson is our greatest offensive player, but that is literally true. His long balls from goalkicks or freekicks are as dangerous as anything else our outfield players create. And this is not some fluke statistic that has only happened in one or two of our poorer games, it has been a regular occurrence from the start of the season with few exceptions. This is the type of football BFS has relegated us to playing, and this is where it has led us - in the relegation zone.

We could be fooked by December. Hmmmm, sounds remarkably like 2008 again. I hope that the new owners can see that giving this clown any money would be a total waste. Pay him off, encourage his retirement, mutual consent - whatever - but he has to go or we're going down.
broadsword Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 By the time Liverpool play Bolton away this time next week, they could already be out of the bottom 3 ... and we'll, likely as not, be in it.
philipl Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 Usual 47th minute gift with a topping up in the 55th minute just in case the scousers didn't appreciate our generosity first time round. Some big issues stacking up at Ewood at present.
1864roverite Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I am sorry bur I join the amount of negative posts on this. That was awful at best. \shocking tactics shocking effort and a shocking gameplan. I am sorry sam but for me your time at Ewood is looking like its entering the end zone.
BPF Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 10 games gone, only out of the relegation zone by goal difference, the worst brand of football for a long time and Chelsea up next. I'm not enjoying this season but let's hope Sam (or someone else) can turn it around sharpish. There can be no mistake. A takeover MUST result in the end of Sam. Sam was a good chemotherapy treatment against the Ince cancer. The fact remains though, chemotherapy is good at beating cancer but not very good at landing you that promotion at work.
joey_big_nose Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Second half was a much much better performance. Let down by two poorly defended corners - the usually impecable Jones looking suspect on those. Benjani, although he has his faults, caused Liverpool far more problems than Kalinic. Grella had a huge impact on our possession which improved. I thought we didn't get Diouf on the ball enough. When he had it he was dangerous. Hoilett did nothing sadly. For me if we don't play a more creative offensive game when Wigan turn up on the 6th of November I think I will add my voices to those asking to look for a new manager. Sam might have taken us as far as he can.
Rover Down Under Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Jesus wept, 66% possession to Liverpool. I would consider this game a success if Sam realises the only period we played well was when we played it to feet and we do this for a lot more than 10 minutes per game.
chaddyrovers Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 We palyed alot better second half. seem to pass it more. I would like us to pass the ball more and maybe play abit more attacking. I watched the full game and first half we were awful. Why are so many of you against Big Sam? is it the style of play?
broadsword Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Hmmmm, sounds remarkably like 2008 again. I hope that the new owners can see that giving this clown any money would be a total waste. Pay him off, encourage his retirement, mutual consent - whatever - but he has to go or we're going down. Maybe Barca will come in for him. After all, he's as good as Wenger. totally agree that the trust screwwed up by not releasing transfer funds over the Summer - that was a shocking dereliction of duty that gambles with our future. I hope they're happy.
koi Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I've made my feelings about Sam well known on the Sam thread but that wont stop me here. I want him gone, simple as that.
JohnD Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Some big issues stacking up at Ewood at present. I hope they are Sam's supply for selling outside the ground........

We could be fooked by December. We've been saying we are doomed for months. It's been obvious all season that we are going down. We'll be rock bottom by January. Last season the fat faced messiah saw sense and changed his tactics in January. January will be too late this time around. He is going to kill our club, if he hasn't already.
