Rover_Shaun Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 A volley is what her indoors gives you for T-cutting the car with her best sussies.

koi Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 The Guardian take on bouncing balls: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2009/sep/02/what-is-a-volley-football
rigger Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I thought that a volley was a shot that missed by miles, well mine did.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 To me a half-volley is when you catch the ball on the UP from a bounce not when it's bounced and dropping or at the top of the bounce. I think you're right because I've always considered it a half-volley if you catch the ball on the way UP after the bounce not when it's dropping. Hitting a rising ball is much more difficult than a dropping one that's had the speed taken out of it after a bounce. That's my thinking. Like a drop out in Rugby.
Dean Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I like K-Hods approach of applying the heads and vods rules. Volley = anything before the ball has bounced for the first time following someone else's touch Half-volley = hitting it at the same time as first bounce Score with anything else and you're going in nets as a forfeit - Jamie Vardy would be in nets for that effort last night, therefore no volley! It's so much easier to hit a ball after it has bounced at least one, most of the spin and pace comes off in that first bounce.
roverandout Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Van bastens was the best volley ever scored
Amo Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 To this day, Almeyda's goal vs. Parma is still the best volley I've ever seen
Blue Cabbage Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 To this day, Almeyda's goal vs. Parma is still the best volley I've ever seen Just checked it out Amo, I fully agree. Stunner
speeeeeeedie Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Just checked it out Amo, I fully agree. Stunner I'll stick with van Basten's. Almeyda's was a cracker but not quite as good for me. What I liked about Vardy's goal was how relaxed he looked. He knew a good while before he hit it what he was going to do and it was never in doubt. Liverpool were all over Leicester at the time too. It certainly wasn't a volley.
Salgado Is Still A Hero Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Off the top of my head... Best Volleys - Van Basten, Zidane CL final, Tugay against Spurs, Di Canio, Trevor Sinclair Half-volleys - One of Yeboah's, Ramsey against Galatasaray Ball in mid-air - Ibrahimovich against England and Italy, some Fiorentina player against Barca, think his name is Mauro Bressan
roverandout Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 We have some cracking strikers to take to a tournament for once, Rooney, vardy, Kane, sturridge and welbeck
roverandout Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Shame about his injuries, technically he's our best striker and one of the most technically gifted in europe
Rover_Shaun Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 'Technically' he's a crock who's totally shot both mentally and physically
koi Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 We have some cracking strikers to take to a tournament for once, Rooney, vardy, Kane, sturridge and welbeck Will any of them actually perform on the big stage though?
jim mk2 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 For me, this volley by Di Canio is the best goal I have seen in more than 50 years watching football. Technically so difficult (you try scissor-kicking a 60-yard crossfield ball on the volley past the keeper from a tight angle) but Di Canio makes it look easy. Fantastic.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted February 3, 2016 Moderation Lead Posted February 3, 2016 Joe Cole vs Sweden was one of my favourites. (2006 World Cup).
Blue Cabbage Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Trevor Sinclair's overheader against Barnsley in 1997
deryck guyler's spoon Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Trevor Sinclair's overheader against Barnsley in 1997 Love that goal. My favourite however, was scored by my favourite non Rover - Bergkamp v Newcastle in 2002.
Mike Graham Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Trevor Sinclair's overheader against Barnsley in 1997 Sinclair's son has signed up at the Rovers Academy.
roverandout Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Will any of them actually perform on the big stage though? Time will tell!!
islander200 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Sinclair's son has signed up at the Rovers Academy.[/quote Is that not Frank Sinclair's son?
VinjayV4 Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 Yes its Frank Sinclair's son. As Pedro pointed out on here few weeks back hopefully the kid knows which goal he's aiming at! https://twitter.com/tyrese_sinco7
