pk1875 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Set off at 7.30am and just walked through the door. Gutted! Official coaches are getting their money back, I went on the Action Group coach and we aren't seeing a penny which is frustrating, but we're in same boat as those who drove and got the train I suppose. I will go back down on the tuesday but whats to say it wont get called off again?! Really crappy day! If we could refund we would, alas the coach company still charge us for the journey. One positive is though travelling with us you will save around £200 a season than travelling on official transport. We do it at a cheap a price as we can not as a profit maker.

I just hope they put on free transport for the fans that have a ticket as I really want to go but am extremely reluctant to pay for transport again with a very real possibility of it being off again.
oldjamfan1 Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I can remember sometime in the early 70s coming twice on the train from Sheffield to Bolton for an FA cup replay midweek and both were postponed by the time I got there. Played third time and I think Rovers won, but of course I couldn't get there. I can remember an away game in the very early 70s at Bristol Rovers when they still played at Eastville. We set off early on the Ewood Express from Blackburn station only for it to be turned back somewhere in the midlands because word had come through that the pitch was waterlogged.
1864roverite Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Believe the game may well be Wednesday of next week whereas I was hoping it would be Tuesday. Still going to ensure the ground gets a tick in the box !

Can't see the club giving a full refund AND free travel for the rearranged fixture - does anybody know how many official coaches there were?
ABBEY Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Cant see really why they would /should. It still cost the coach companies in wages and fuel etc
Backroom Madon Posted January 11, 2016 Backroom Posted January 11, 2016 Cant see really why they would /should. It still cost the coach companies in wages and fuel etc I know, it's just frustrating for the fans that went and want to go again but will end up paying over 50 quid in travel expenses.
Backroom Madon Posted January 11, 2016 Backroom Posted January 11, 2016 Official sites fixture list now has it as Tuesday 19th 19:45pm
tomphil Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It actually should work in our favour a bit more now if the crowd down there is far less and the game a bit less profile. Bit less pressure on our lot.
AlanK Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 We shouldn`t be worried about 4000 Newport fans in the 1st place!! Oxford did the rest of us a favour, they`ve pulled off the 3rd round shock. There is always one and that was it.
AlanK Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Apart from Wed eve/Thurs morning there is a dry forecast all week until Saturday at Newport
windymiller7 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Is there any chance that this might be on TV now or is that the same night as some of the replays?
sharpysharps Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Is there any chance that this might be on TV now or is that the same night as some of the replays? There's always BBC Wales
Backroom Madon Posted January 11, 2016 Backroom Posted January 11, 2016 As Abbey says, the game is going to be live on Eurosport. http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/fa-cup/2015-2016/newport-county--blackburn-rovers_mtc831546/live.shtml
Mattyblue Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Ha, I thought that was the old Eurosport gag from our halycon UEFA Cup days. I didn't think Eurosport had any rights to the FA Cup?
Backroom Madon Posted January 11, 2016 Backroom Posted January 11, 2016 I may be wrong... it says follow our live matchcast, maybe it's just a web thing?
JHRover Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 It also says that Terry Butcher is the Newport manager, so I'd proceed with caution on that website.
Mike Graham Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Can't see the club giving a full refund AND free travel for the rearranged fixture - does anybody know how many official coaches there were? Two Andy
philipl Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Number 11 in the 4th round draw. Dingles are number 30.
arbitro Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 As Abbey says, the game is going to be live on Eurosport. http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/fa-cup/2015-2016/newport-county--blackburn-rovers_mtc831546/live.shtml I thought that only BBC and BT had the broadcasting rights for live FA Cup matches. There has been nothing official on Rovers official website neither.
only2garners Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Eurosport That's just live texting. If you look at the site they claim they have all the replays live in the same way. Given the other options I can't see there being any chance of live TV for this game. Leicester v Spurs is a banker for one and Bristol City v West Brom, Liverpool v Exeter, Aston Villa v Wycombe will all be ahead of us for the other.
No Nay Never Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 All depends if BBC Wales had rights to show a replay I would imagine, if they did then with Newport being the last Welsh side in the competition then there may be a chance. If not then BBC Wales will just show the replay that our normal BBC are showing.
