bazza Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 If we win this it'll only be by the odd goal; 1-0 or 2-1. I think we'll be lucky to get a draw.

Mattyblue Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Looks like the Jack Walker is going to be packed, shame the camera is attached to it...
VinjayV4 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Looks like the Jack Walker is going to be packed, shame the camera is attached to it... There's enough camera angles. If fans are worried about TV perception they will just have to chant about Rovers much louder than usual.
VinjayV4 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Ignoring the fact that Sam took West Ham back up and kept them there..... Yes he kept them there (unsurprisingly) but what has Allardyce ever done beyond that?
philipl Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Yes he kept them there (unsurprisingly) but what has Allardyce ever done beyond that? Never mind, we all feel sorry for you, really.
JBiz Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Yes he kept them there (unsurprisingly) but what has Allardyce ever done beyond that? Big sam has got results at every club he's been too. Newcastle is possibly a blip but considering their fans, it's not suprising. Surviving for us, promotion and survival for Bolton and West ham are all big achievements. His teams rarely produce stunning football or gung-ho tactics. They've consistently given results though. If he ever had a "big" job for a decent time - I think he's likely win trophies too.
VinjayV4 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3410701/West-Ham-owner-David-Sullivan-Fans-want-dream-not-reality-exciting-time-club-s-history-feels-strange.html Sullivan stating West Ham fans want a dream not "reality". Rovers fans liked the look of Bilic in 2008 probably would have been a good appointment then or in late 2010.
VinjayV4 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Never mind, we all feel sorry for you, really. Yeah I feel sorry for Jack having a son like your mate Howard. Allardyce very complimentary of Bilic too. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/02/02/sam-allardyce-praises-slaven-bilics-signings-at-west-ham-united/

According to you Sam is a non-achiever but you are happy to use his views to support your's. Not sure what you are on about anyway, are you saying we should have signed Bilic as manager? When?

Not sure what you are on about anyway, are you saying we should have signed Bilic as manager? When? No I simply said on the previous page that some Rovers fans suggested Bilic in 2008. Actually I wanted Ten Cate at the time but wasn't exactly opposed to Bilic at all. Never said Allardyce is a bad manager either just that Rovers could have done better (obviously not meaning Steve Kean) and West Ham fans aren't regretting their similar viewpoint. This is from Kamy on twitter... Looking at the Met Office weather warning, huge amount of rain to fall in Blackburn over next 48 hours, must put game in doubt tomorrow.

Not being wise after the event but I would have liked Bilic when he was rumoured to be interested in the Rovers job.

And I have never knowingly met Howard.

ABBEY Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 what about the river ? can cover it with as much hot air and inflatables as you want but if it comes down like at christmas and banks burst it will be off
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 http://mobile.rovers.co.uk/news/article/paul-lambert-blackburn-rovers-west-ham-united-fa-cup-2963791.aspx You may have a very long wait Paul to see Ewood as full as it was for the Celtic match!
Neal Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Apparently the pitch has been covered to make sure the match goes ahead.
Riverside67 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 There really is no excuse for Rovers fans not to turn out tomorrow. Unfortunately the track record of support at Ewood since the early 1960's bar the Walker era has been very poor. Even Oxford are likely to have had more home supporters v Rovers than we will get watching WHU tomorrow. A poor show and a lack of commitment if we get anything less than 20000 home fans. West Ham are playing some great football and have there best team in years.

West Ham are playing some great football and have there best team in years. You have a point, I suppose, but, in all honesty, you do have to ask why. I seem to remember repeated research has shown that when fans break the regular match going habit, the break is all too often permanent. I know I am often on my high horse about the fan blame thing, but even amongst my own family and friends I can name 24 people, who used to go regularly and have all been lost to this club. Back to my original question, what has happened in the last 5 years to bring this about ?
Mattyblue Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Just the way Rovers fans generally are when it comes to cup ties (Liverpool being the exception). Remember the Villa semi-final in 2010? The first leg at Ewood had 18000 on with a big Villa following, Milwall quarter final, Man City a couple of years back etc. etc. Very simple, plenty of season ticket holders just don't bother and as we don't have the extra fans to replace them, the gate suffers.
Hasta Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 There really is no excuse for Rovers fans not to turn out A poor show and a lack of commitment if we get anything less than 20000 home fans. How about a dirth of goals at home this season as an excuse? How about the lack of enjoyment and entertainment from many home games this season? You'd think we were top of the league and playing sexy football listening to some of you lot trying to have a pop at the stay always. It's another fa cup game against a premier league side. It's not a champions league semi final FFS.
AJW Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I also think results and performances play a part ... I'm sure had we continued with the form we showed right at the beginning of PL's reign and we were in a play off spot (or better) we would quite easily get 25k for this game

It would be interesting if we did get to Wembley how many tickets we could sell.
