The Coyleist's head will roll a game or two after the window slams shut. There'll be a period of Dunny or Johnson along the lines of GB and if there is a result or two they'll get the job until the next window.

@#/? take all round.

Unfortunately dick, prick, bullshit, and bullshitter are still not getting picked up. Get on it Glenn and Ste!

Someone like Hendrie is a classic example of why this loaning of PL youngsters doesn't work for clubs like us. There are of course exceptions but in the main all WHU are doing is running down his contract and getting someone else to pay some of his wages in the meantime. He isn't ever going back to WHU to play so is basically clicking his heels now until he gets released. Not good enough and not motivated. Expect a couple more no hopers to cone in through the same route this week.

We are maybe getting these lads in for 3-5k pwk and just because they are from Prem clubs doesn't mean they are any good. Even if they are they aren't equipped to drag a team from the foot of the Championship at a club in turmoil.

They're here because it's a cheapo way of throwing a team together which may end up with a bit of youthful flair about it instead of loaning plodders on 10 grand per week from other Champ clubs benches. But like I said it isn't a policy that will keep us up and I'm sure those clubs lending these lads are ever so grateful to someone somewhere giving them some game time and getting their clients in the shop windows ;)

Rovers bringing in loan players en masse is really the final insult.

Parading players with no financial return for the club / Venkys / loan repayments.

Any money made goes to the parent club and the players' agents. Whilst we gamble our future on them gelling immediately and keeping us up.

If we are looking at loaning players it should be players who have played maybe 100 or 150 games and have some experience in how to deal with difficult situations and how to graft out results. We just haven't got that at the moment.

These kind of signings would have been great a few seasons ago to fill out and back up what was a half decent side. Replacing the deadwood with these kind of kids would have made sense but there'll never a plan with these lot. Even now with the cost cutting etc we could and should be in a much healthier state..

Me n spoon got banned for less , double standards yet no one will explain

Probably just your "rep" precedes you Abbs.

They've definitely got more ambition. Not a chance are they a bigger club though.

At this point in time they might be.

Totally agree with this - ideally loan players would be experienced players to help youngsters like Mahoney and Linehan to aid their development, and to buy time while they developed. Not youngsters from other clubs that only block the progress of our existing youngsters.

He did the same at Bolton, signed Robbie Blake and Martin Petrov on free's when they were passed their best, and then signed the likes of Wilshere and Sturridge on loan. It's backward both from a football and financial perspective.

Hope you are right. With Coyle at the helm we are doomed. A quality Manager does make a difference; there are plenty of examples of that at all League levels. This guy is inept when it comes to strategy, tactics and team selection. Pulled a rabbit out of the hat at Burnley but will soon look like a rabbit in the headlights at Ewood.

We had a quality manager in Lambert. Thats not the problem right now even though Coyle is useless. We all know what the problem is.

It was like watching our last chance under 'this lot' come and go in the space of a few months.

Raising expectations is the most frustrating thing: "Well they must have said they'll back him, having got the club out of embargo, or why would they have brought him in?"

Has being out of embargo actually made much difference to our recruitment strategy? Do they even know that we aren't under embargo? Did anyone check the fax machines?

So many questions, so few answers.

No it IS a problem. Yes the Venkys are the biggest issue by far but a decent guy at the helm would make a positive difference. Don't understand why people don't get this! And - by the way - I don't agree about Lambert. He flattered to deceive; clubs are hardly queuing up for him since he left Rovers are they?

We also weren't getting one point from 15 with him though. He was better than Coyle. He was better than Bowyer. All 3 of them had a huge job under Venkys.

I think this misses the point.

No credible manager can work with no money - not if their target is to be successful.

Lambert would have totally changed the culture of the club but he needed to be able to bring in quality players. Just look at the players he brought in as his loans and freebies. The first thing was to start to change the attitude and work ethic. This doesn't happen overnight. The players were on easy street and fitness was lacking.

The next phase was to improve the quality of the squad in order to push for promotion. He was ignored.

A decent manager in isolation could only do so much. A Warnock would keep this squad in the league. But he wouldn't get it promoted. That costs money.
