Great last 15 mins and Bristol folded like a deck of cards when we finally put them under a bit of pressure. Disgrace we took 75 mins to turn up in a must win game though. For me Mowbray isn't the man to take us forward next season whichever division we're in. 2 must win home games and we haven't turned up in either and the manager must take his share of the blame for that.

Respect that viewpoint but for me I would have him whatever league we are in.

This squad needs rebuilding from the ground up but I don't see how that can happen in our situation.

League one could end us, all the loanees and out of contract players go with no money to bring anyone else in. Back to back relegations must be likely.

Ah well at least the long weekend is over and it's back to work tomorrow

It's a feature of the games I've seen under Mowbray that we start very slowly and take at least 45 mins to get going. He's an improvement on Coyle obviously but he is what he is - an average ten-a-penny lower league manager.

Phoney Tony is a head coach Tom, so he doesn't rebuild the team, he will have to work with whatever players he is given to work with .

And who is "the man"?

Mowbray deserves a transfer window regardless of what division we are in. He picked up an absolute shambles from Coyle.

Unfortunately he wont get one himself with Swiss Tony knocking about

Wow.

We should have been dead and buried and almost ended up winning it.  Just shows what a funny old game football is and how dangerous a 1-0 lead is.

The big thing for me today was Raya.  Two years ago, he wasn't ready.  He is now.  He is the real thing.  Couldn't fault him at all.  Confident, positive, clean handling, decent saves and good distribution.  He HAS to be our number 1 and it will be a huge, huge mistake if Steele is restored to the team.

We wont go down.  Feels like the footballing gods are on our side.  Brum have imploded and it serves them right after sacking one if the brightest young managers in the game (Rowett) and replacing him with a failed name (Zola).

I think one win for us, three points, will do the trick.

A huge 4 points this weekend.  Happy days

I feel the opposite I feel the Gods are against us, a 7 game unbeaten run still left us in the drop zone.

Still think the last minute goal against Preston killed us

Agree with you about Raya.

Completely disagree with everything else. Must win game at which we failed to turn up (again). The final nail in the coffin in reality.

Where are Brum going to get another point from ?

They have gone.  They have a manager who doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Keep the faith.  One win will do it.

I'm already thinking of next season in league one.

How many of the squad will still be here? I can't see venkys spending any money, given that the spending trendline is headed ever-downward. I think the payday loans will evaporate next year with income reduced.

So unless something drastic  happens I would think next year would see administration and likely as not, another relegation.

Bleak times

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said.

Our only saving grace could be Villa and their hatred of 'big club'!

And well just be handed a win,  will we?

Villa will have a right old battle at Brum on Sunday.

That will be their match of the season now - beat Brum and help send them down.

They will roll up at our place with minds on the summer beach with little motivation.  They will know a win for us will most likely put Brum down.

It's that simple.

You predicted a win in today's game, did  you not?

Today was a must win game but you wouldn't have known it from either

A) Mowbrays initial team selection or

B ) The attitude of the players

If he can't motivate the team under such extreme circumstances when really the players shouldn't need any motivation whatsoever then I can't see him being able to do it from scratch over the course of a full season. He's far too negative and pragmatic for my liking. We weren't playing well under him imo when we were winning initially and whilst to his credit hes not afraid to make changes I dont think its a sign of a good manager he has to try and completely change things round after 50 mins every other week.

Yes I did.

However, we are much closer to safety than we were before a ball was kicked on Friday.

I think the 4 points gained will prove to be huge in the final reckoning.

Whose shoes would you prefer to be in as a fan - Brum's or ours ?  I think it's a no brainer.

I just  cant understabd why he went with 1 up front agaibst that crap.  Gallagher looked isolated.  Plus, Mahoney out of position, Feeney playing some sort of left sided central midfield role. Of all people who dont have the heart for central midfield its feeney. Mowbray thought he would swamp the midfield and keep he ball, but theiir 4 were better than our 5.  Lowe is a cabbage.  Shoukd have changed it 20 minutes in.

Seems allot of people are missing the point Rev, it was in our hands today to go out and get three points to haul ourselves above the pack. We couldn't now we are at the mercy of other clubs and a situation out of our hands, it's that black and white I'm afraid.

I agree.

I think he's got more than a bit lucky on a number of occasions.  It was kamikaze stuff for the last quarter and he was fortunate City bottled it.  A more clinical side wouldn't.

He started out quite well but have to say I've been questioning his approach and selections for weeks now. What's changed though and how much input do his rookie coaches have ?
