Had Broughton been working for a competent board, he probably would have done well.ย

Gestede was never ready for his role, not in the Championship anyway; utter novice and it is embarrassing but another case of saving the pennies from Suhail & Co... They still haven't replaced Maggot in public capacity, the whole situation surrounding us is of a novice nature!ย

It's like they're playing a game of Football Manager.ย

Theyโ€™ve taken the academy approach to the front office.ย

He was definitely one of our better players last season and I think a lot of fans had confidence seeing him on the team sheet especially when he had the period of injury but you are right, I wouldn't call him irreplaceable; the issue is, we don't see him being replaced effectively should he leave and the chances of that happening are high.

A lot of members within the forum are jokingly stating "we already have his replacement" and that is probably accurate... The club will likely spin this now and you'll see a lot more of Albieosu on the Social Media channels, not saying the lad isn't decent; I haven't seen enough of him to form an opinion... But being honest... Haha.

Yeah the replacement may well be albieosu. From all accounts that young lad Montgomery was the best player on the pitch on Saturday, I've read? Maybe they will have those two competing for the position who knows? It would seem strange to sell both him and jrc and rely on two lads, with little to no championship experience.

Anywhere else, and I would agree.

Alebiosu is 23 years old, has played over 50 senior games and cost us a fee. He's the replacement.

The cynic in me says he always was.

When he played last season he didn't cross when could have and preferred a back pass. Same on Saturday. Good ball control and hungry player.

Sign Alebiosu on Thursday and on Friday Brittain has suddenly downed tools, as if Boro had just emerged out of no where.

I suspect Boro have been in contact with Brittain for some time, hence why he was "close" to signing a new deal 3 weeks ago, which never happened.

The club will have been after a right back anyway but i'm sure they were aware of Brittain's desire to leave, and so moved for Alebiosu as his replacement, once it was clear he wasn't staying.ย

Let's not forget that the club instantly turned the whole situation back onto Brittain by saying he chose not to play. Now the majority of fans (on social media at least) aren't bothered about him going, calling him a snake etc. or "he's only had 1 good season". Job done from the clubs point of view.

Might get a loan from the prem later in the window as cover but yeah, Alebiosu is CB's replacement, 100%.

ย

Edit: Also, how many times do we sign a player and in their interview they say they've known about our interest in them for a long time. These things don't just happen overnight.

A starting 11 likely of:ย

Tothย
Duru Wharton Hyam De Neve
Buckley Forshaw
Kargbo Cantwell Hedges
Ohashiย

Can't see where the results will come from - and once we start losing it's amazing how quickly the ewood tide can turn its anger to Pasha, Gestede, Venkys and Ismaelย

ย

Think even a clone of 1/4 of each of Ferguson, Pep, Ancelotti and Michels would struggle with that starting eleven.

Elliott Jackson said that Ismael hinted that we would potentially go with Alebiosu and Montgomery at right back.

That would be ridiculous but it would be cheap and help them to hit the arbitary academy minutes target so wouldnt surprise anyone.

Maybe Brittain saw Alebiosu in training on Friday and thought "fuck that, he's going to take my job" ๐Ÿ˜‰

I posted back around April that I'd been told the senior players were annoyed with the manner of Eustace's departure, the lack of ambition in the club and their general dealing with the board (who I took as Waggot / Pasha).

Since then Baath and Weimann haven't re-signed. Brittain wants out. No progress on Tronstadt and Travis.ย

The club know this and so far our recruitment seems to be to replace them on the cheap. ย

Never been a Lowe fan and seems Eustace sought to isolate him.ย  However, for Rovers not to even confirm this departure is poor.ย  One does wonder if this is litigious.

I did hear that Lowe, had a weekly report on the happenings and the club, sent to India. I also heard, he was once sacked and reinstated, due to this.

Makes sense that he goes soon after Waggot

Have a feeling that the atmosphere by mid September at Ewood could quite quickly turn incredibly toxic -ย

Brittain already out the door and a foot into the next one
Travis and Tronstad likely have their bags packed readyย

All three unlikely to be replaced by anyone of considerable value and direct impact on the team.ย

With that team we would be cut adrift by October with no prospect of recovery.

Would be relegated with a record low number of points.

Its close to being a L1 line-up apart from Cantwell and possibly Ohashi. There's no doubt that Venkys will be content with that outcome.ย

Duru's gone from breaking through from nowhere, going out on loan to a L2 side and getting called up to the USA U20s to back behind a CM who did ok at Chorley on loan.

Ouch.ย
