I posted back around April that I'd been told the senior players were annoyed with the manner of Eustace's departure, the lack of ambition in the club and their general dealing with the board (who I took as Waggot / Pasha).

Since then Baath and Weimann haven't re-signed. Brittain wants out. No progress on Tronstadt and Travis.Β

The club know this and so far our recruitment seems to be to replace them on the cheap. Β

Β

The senior players were annoyed?

Imagine how the fans felt. We have to PAY to watch this shit - they at least get generously compensated.Β

Never been a Lowe fan and seems Eustace sought to isolate him.Β  However, for Rovers not to even confirm this departure is poor.Β  One does wonder if this is litigious.

Just par for the course, no?

Eustace got a bitchy statement. Waggott got a sentence.Β

Sign Alebiosu on Thursday and on Friday Brittain has suddenly downed tools, as if Boro had just emerged out of no where.

I suspect Boro have been in contact with Brittain for some time, hence why he was "close" to signing a new deal 3 weeks ago, which never happened.

The club will have been after a right back anyway but i'm sure they were aware of Brittain's desire to leave, and so moved for Alebiosu as his replacement, once it was clear he wasn't staying.Β

Let's not forget that the club instantly turned the whole situation back onto Brittain by saying he chose not to play. Now the majority of fans (on social media at least) aren't bothered about him going, calling him a snake etc. or "he's only had 1 good season". Job done from the clubs point of view.

Might get a loan from the prem later in the window as cover but yeah, Alebiosu is CB's replacement, 100%.

Β

Edit: Also, how many times do we sign a player and in their interview they say they've known about our interest in them for a long time. These things don't just happen overnight.

I've been meaning to say myself that I found all the timings too coincidental, and that I suspect the club leaked the 'Brittain close to signing' rumour already knowing that there was strong interest from Boro and Derby and that a sale was likely. At a normal club, I'd be willing to believe we got unlucky, or that the story breaking made other clubs hasten their moves, but we aren't a normal club. Whilst I can't say it's definitely the case, I have to wonder whether Brittain was ever close to signing a deal or if they made it up knowing he won't be signing one and that they've got a replacement in ahead of time.

After all this shit...why do i feel strangely optimistic we'll be in playoffs first time come end this season .........

Well we never build on what we do they do the exact opposite and pull it all to bits again so literally anything could happen.

Start what? Almost every player gets more than almost every fan, usually far more. They are generously compensated, he's right. Maybe not relative to what they can get elsewhere, but as Championship footballers they have a standard of living most of us can only dream of, for doing a job we would all love to do even if it was for what we earn now.

lol. That’s reliable.

Have a look of Boylesports website. They haven’t got the market up just like every other bookie.

For comparison, Newcastle are only 250/1 to get relegated from the Prem.

Rovers were about 4/1 to be relegated last year and I suspect we will be about 6/1 this year.

350-1Β πŸ˜‚

ChatGPT just making stuff up, probably based on odds towards the back of last season. No option on the site for relegation betting as far as I can tell

In this league if you can get 350-1 or higher on literally anyone getting promoted or relegated it's probably worth a tenner at least.

In recent years we've seen clubs relegated from the premiership get relegated again and clubs promoted from league one get promoted again. No Bookie is offering odds that long when there are three to go up and three to go down.

Yeah the replacement may well be albieosu. From all accounts that young lad Montgomery was the best player on the pitch on Saturday, I've read? Maybe they will have those two competing for the position who knows? It would seem strange to sell both him and jrc and rely on two lads, with little to no championship experience.

Don’t believe everything you read would be my advice.

Just checking in after getting a life πŸ˜‰

So…

Lowe has gone, the disgraceful approach to the women’s team has deepened, we still don’t have a new CEO, Tronstad and Trav have not signed new contracts, Brittain will leave, existing signings are paraded as new signings, JRC has gone, Dolan has gone (but not signed anywhere else yet.) Court case –long grass?Β

Club spin and nonsense on all of the above continues (β€˜we did all we could’, β€˜we are communicating’, β€˜we are moving forward with youth’ etc. etc.) as does a gullible fan base who swallow said nonsense.

Likely outcome, relegation.Β

Have I missed anything?

And yes, I will be going, sorry upside. Madness indeed.

Rovers non-season ticket holders who fancy a visit to Ewood on Saturday are being charged more than Everton fans πŸ€ͺ

Dolan signing for Coventry apparently. Must be the run and assist he did at their place last season!

As he is not a Rovers player, I have no, to very little, interest.

I did hear that Lowe, had a weekly report on the happenings and the club, sent to India. I also heard, he was once sacked and reinstated, due to this.

Heard something similar from someone whose source was Eric Kinder. He was sacked at least once years ago but reinstated after Balaji personally intervened.

Elliott Jackson said that Ismael hinted that we would potentially go with Alebiosu and Montgomery at right back.

That would be ridiculous but it would be cheap and help them to hit the arbitary academy minutes target so wouldnt surprise anyone.

Maybe Ismael rated both players far more you do . I can't comment on Alebiosu quality but I think Montgomery is someone we need to develop but I think he would be better in box to box midfielder role with his ability to get up and down the pitch. Just for record and to be crystal clear Yes I would sign another right back with championship experience with similar attitudes to Brittain to play the role that Ismael wants from his right back role. Montgomery did very good provide that width and getting high up s quickly

Still no talk of Ismael bolstering his coaching staff?

Remember we were already 1 down after Downing and Gardiner left for Derby with only Whitehead coming in with Ismael. Lots of talk about Adam Murray coming but he's gone to Kidderminster instead. Now with Lowe out the door we are 2 coaching staff down on last season.

No wonder they prefer this model. A lot cheaper.

are we really one down given that Eustace sent Lowe scouting the next opposition and wasn't actually coaching anyone. Maybe Ismael doesn't want 2 first team coaches but is happy with Whitehead as number 2 and Johnson as first team coach.Β

You can't.

If you could, you could have a risk free bet to win a fortune by laying it off on the betting exchanges.

Like Hasta says no odds are available yet for relegation but likely to be about 5/1 or 6/1.

For comparison purposes Bet 365 have us 17th favourites at 50/1 to win the League and 14/1 to be promoted. That'll be roughly where they expect us to finish at this stage before a ball is kicked.

You could probably safely add a zero on the end of those and not be out of pocket.
