The one thing I am holding onto with relegation is that if we go down it blows a hole in the new model (pay less than 10k, get ultra cheap players from abroad) so maybe it will be enough for Venkys to just call it a day.

I guarantee they just drop that £10k number and we struggle in League One as well. This has downsizing costs all over it.

Nothing whatsoever to do with luck, we're a shite team with a worse manager.

Thought Alebiosu was excellent and Cantwell played reasonably well. Hickman was ok first half. The rest of them might as well not have bothered.

Everyone raves about Tronstad yet every time we're live on TV he's dreadful. Predictably we're missing Travis badly.

Gudjohnsen Miller and Kargbo looked Sunday League standard.

Can't see any way out of this there's next to zero quality in the squad and the head coach is even worse.

Oh dear.

Let's at least be thankful Ismael was supposedly focusing on the important things before the match - like flying home and having a birthday party.

Yep he’s going down before there is any contact then he catches him, usually given though

He's cutting back and changing direction and the Swansea player kicks at his standing leg. It's as clear a penalty as you're ever likely to see.

Okay performance but my god what was kargbo doing for the second goal. He is beyond awful. Absolute mediocre of a footballer. Robbed again by the efl. I really struggle to see how we’re going to get a result against Stoke this weekend. 4-0 loss for us…

Glutton for punishment so thoughts on those out there tonight

Toth - decent stop first half which you would expect to make but think he’ll be disappointed with the second although maybe unsighted. Don’t see him as an issue.

Alebiousou - Man of the Match, must have got 10 crosses in and most of them resulted in danger. Had to do the job of 2 people at times.

Mcoughlin - a stupid booking, not much else to note

Miller - I quite like him, his throw is an asset but he’s not a centre half and not better than the other right back

Ribeiro - really poor today, just looked like a plodder

Morishita - did nothing, can’t complain at coming off.

Tronstad - thought he was poor tonight, really poor effort from the edge of the box second half

Gardner Hickman - half decent

Hedges - was Hedges playing?

Cantwell - tried to make things happen and nearly did a few times and got his goal. Unlucky not to get a penalty but then lost his head and could have been sent off

Andri - I liked the lay off he did in the first half and took up a good position for a cross early on but ultimately had a chance to put us 2-1 up that forwards dream of and he fluffed it and we concede within 30 seconds; that’s awful.

Kargbo - a true 0/10 performance, tried an overhead kick and landed on his arse, lost the ball after Andri’s mess up then didn’t try to recover

Yuki - came on; wandered offside, repeat

De Neve - can’t be blamed decent tracking nothing of note

Ismael - awful today, tactics and set up cost us the game, he’s being out thought by managers of Charlton, Swansea and co, at present looking like an Owen Coyle

Never heard so many angry voices heading back home up Livesey Branch...matters near boiling point.

The pot needs to boil over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have just 3 players - Toth, Alebiosu and Cantwell and who would bet against Rovers selling these come January!?

The rest are either average at best or, in the main, just very poor - IMO, overall p1ss poor recruitment.

Saturday against Stoke could be one big embarrassment.

There can be no excuses.  Cantwell penalty - maybe maybe not.  You make your own luck in football.

Can we make it a one way ticket.

Im sure our crap manager will deflect by whinging about the referee off the back of a 4th successive home loss.

But we are absolutely dire. A poor manager "aligned" in the recruitment of some absolutely terrible footballers to replace good ones, all with the sole intention of slashing costs.

Kargbo is an absolute joke of a footballer. Gudjohnsen was terrible. We had 3 new signings on the bench, they are that bad that only one came on and for 1 minute. Miller is a really poor centre back. Another signing we made is injured long term but we signed him knowingly. You can see why a club promoted from League 1 lent us TGH.

Poor manager, poor players in front of a depressingly sparse Ewood crowd.

Would agree with most but not Gardner Hickman half decent!  Think the lad is a quarter Keith Andrews!

Much better performance 2nd half.

Blatant pen not given on Cantwell. Another set of officials who cant simple decision.

Our best players today were Captain Cantwell and Alebiosu.

Defeat we didnt deserve. Roll on Saturday dinner against Stoke.

COYB🔵

In the second half, we werent "much better" at all. We was crap all game.

Poor manager, poor players, lets blame everyone but ourselves.

We deserved to lose because our incompetence saw us concede more than the opposition. Im guessing these are more points we can add to our ficticious league table.

Struggling defensively , just as well we didn’t sell our best defender with minutes to go in the window…..

also, why can we never get back into a game if we go behind, this has been the case for years and years

There will be though, loads of excuses. EFL hates is, bad luck etc. all bollocks, good teams win games, not turn leads into losses. Zero ownership of the issues.

I didn’t think it was a pen, he was looking for it too obviously

This is a relegation season, unfortunately.

I don't think the quality of the side is markedly worse than last season, but we've just had decision after decision and moment after moment go against us already this year.

Has the stench of a team that's just not going to get any bounce of the ball and slip into L1.

Give it a rest with the decisions / referee - you said the same shite every match thread last season too but we weren’t getting relegated then - do you want to know the answer why, it’s because our manager was far superior and the team hadn’t been shredded to bits by Gestede and Suhail at that point.

Perhaps a £10k a week wage cap and a manager with zero success wasn't the best idea eh, Rudy? Sorry, Suhail? Or is it Jerome?

All of the above.

Don’t blame Ismael for our current predicament. The owners can hire and fire whoever they want. They’re responsible for everything that happens here, they have total control over anything and everything at Ewood.

They've had control now for fifteen years. In those fifteen years, when they took over a mid table Premier League club, how many good decisions have they made? Sacked the manager, got rid of Williams and Finn and also sold an entire PL squad. Since then, well as I asked how many good decisions have they made? When we’ve had a decent manager they’ve forced him out. When we’ve signed a decent player they’ve sold him.

They’ve got to go. They can’t turn this around. There’s no sign of them being able to turn anything around.

Please sell up.

I'll rightly blame Valerian too.

He's joined the club knowing what would happen.

Seemed very happy in the post summer transfer window interview.

Fuck him
