I think we'll have too much for Pompey tomorrow. We look a different team altogether on the road. Baradji is just getting into his stride and if he's paired with Tronstad, I can see us dominating the midfield. Even if he's on the bench, Tronstad and TGH are a good enough pair for tomorrow afternoon. Morishita, Cantwell, Ohashi. There's plenty for Pompey to worry about, I'd say.

There's talk about their vociferous crowd from some of the fans and from Val too. They do have good support, true. Their team isn't much cop though. I think this is going to be better than the Deepdale showing. Come on, Moussa. This game is there for you to dominate.

Pompey 0-3 Rovers.

If we had a 20k shoe box we'd have a way better atmosphere even now with it half full.

We generally look better away from home and honestly I think if the home crowd are loud it will actually help rather than hinder. This is a must-not-lose, and I think we will do that - just.

Pompey 1-1 Rovers

I have a good friend who is a Portsmouth fan. I met up with him at the same fixture last season, which was a horrible away day for us Rovers. He is dreading today's game (and every game, currently). Like us, injuries have hit them hard with no squad depth and defence a particular problem for today. Goals are there for our taking. His view is that if opponents can nullify the pace and creativity of Josh Murphy then Pompey have nothing at all going forward. His predictions is a Rovers win. I'm feeling similar in that a failure by Rovers to win this one will be a big disappointment and concern for the rest of the season.

Well it should be a relatively decent atmosphere which the players have mentioned now multiple times helps them, so let's hope we nab a win. Our form is much better than theirs on paper although we're drawing too many, and that often leads to relegation worries.

Ribeiro has looked very rusty lately, but he will do after bot being featured very often so hopefully he perks up a bit today.

They've failed to score in 6 of their last 8 games now so it's obvious where their weakness lies, of course we do have a habit of helping teams out in such circumstances so don't rule put a 3 nil home win.

In the interest of optimism 2-1 away win with a Gudjohnsen brace, we're capable of it but certainly need an improvement on Oxford....

I fear the worst this afternoon , good away form does not last , it is not as though we have a team full of good championship players .This squad of players is very poor to say the least !

Put into the mix injuries and a very poor manager , it does not bode well ..

I hope I am wrong !

Who scores the first goal will be crucial.

Except if it is the Rovers, on recent experience.

They struggle to score, we struggle to keep clean sheets. Their form isn't great, our away form is good. We struggle to score two.

Im predicting a score draw. 1-1.

Which is not a lot of use to either of us.

We most certainly don't want to lose, nor experience a 96th minute calamity.

COYB.

Remember Bellamy scoring two belters down there in better days. Last visit was particularly depressing.

It doesn’t seem that long ago (80’s) that the promotion places were between Oxford, Portsmouth and Rovers. We had some good battles with them both, but we never made it into Div 1 during that period.

1-1 draw today, safe trip to all the fans making the trip.

Don't forget our injuries, and threadbare squad. Let's not get to above ourselves, keep our feet on the ground, and pick up points.

I've changed my mind, I'll be at the Millwall game, next home game. I said I wasn't going again, after the disappointing Oxford game. It's in the blood, Rovers till I die.

I was hoping so. I know it’s rough, but Rovers need its best fans

i remember us giving away a 2 goal lead at half time at fratton park in the 80`s,think it was the same season when they came up to ewood and the match turned out to be a foul ridden battle, keeley was sent off and brannagan/randall decided to inflict some retribution😆,pompey had some proper thugs playing for them in that era

Why drop Pratt and Gardner-Hickman?

I imagine that De Neve is in because he offers pace on the break & Ribeiro offers very little as a wing back

Given De Neve starts, Ribeiro makes more sense than Pratt to cover for De Neves lack of positional awareness down our left

TGH is average at best, runs around a lot but no positional sense, hopefully Cantwell & Morishita can provide some creativity in midfield

Can only think Tavares is in because Ismael thinks he has more discipline than TGH as the deepest of the 3 midfielders (also possible TGH still carrying a knock after the tackle at the end of the first half the other night)

Norwich winning at the moment, a loss here has us worrying close to that bottom 3.

Could do with a win but stop them winning at all costs!

Odd lineup
