I bet he will feature atsome point while tony is in temp charge Doubt it we are looikng for a caretaker not a miracle worker. But I do think we will see more of Tony's type eg grafters like Douglas, Flitty, and not as much of the ....shall we say.....less 'committed' types.
samtheozzy Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 That sure is a raise-your-hopes-and-dash-them topic title.
T4E Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Was going to say exactly the same Sam, nothing quite like dressing up an opinion as a statement of fact!!
cravenblue Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 my apolgies should have started with ..... will!
RoverDrake Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Newcastle 1 Rovers 1 I hope Tony makes a few changes, (hopefully exile Matteo) and not play Flitcroft. I hope Gamst-Pedersen shows us more of what he is made of and Jay shows some skill.
AllRoverAsia Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 1-1 result agreed in advance courtesy of Fat Freddy and his mates. To show that there is no ongoing animostity with the Refs both goals are penalties.
greggyk Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 has anyone got any stats of the results rovers achieved with Parkes in charge as caretaker
den Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 has anyone got any stats of the results rovers achieved with Parkes in charge as caretaker From today's telegraph: In total, he has taken charge of 70 first team games, winning 27 and losing 20.

That means he has drawn 23 games right right? I put the 'Ma' in Maths.
tcj_jones Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Parkes has worked with Souness for too long to make wholesale changes. It would only further upset the teams balance and i doubt he has had time to orchestrate huge changes. Therefore I think a familiar team will line up on saturday... Freidel Neill / Short / Matteo / Gray Emerton / Tugay / Ferguson / De Pedro Stead / Dickov As for the result, I think Tony will get us our first win of the season.
John Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Interesting to see where Matteo figures, hopefully centre-back or not playing at all.
philipl Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 The Mirror are reporting that Flitcroft and Ferguson will start in midfield. If Flitcroft is the midfield aggressor with Ferguson more free it could work but not if Flitty does his usual disappearing trick.
MCMC1875 Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 This would be my XI Friedel Neill Amoruso Short Gray Emerton Flitcroft Ferguson Gallagher Dickov Stead Not sure if its ever played together before. Thommo would start before Emerton if he was fit. Parkes is sure to recall Flitty. BTW Bryan, I was right about Ewood Parkes and the laundry - just remember where you heard it first.........
coffeeman Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 An injured Gally on the left instead of Pedersen?
den Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Amoruso's suspended, Gally, Thomo and Todd all out injured.
MCMC1875 Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 An injured Gally on the left instead of Pedersen? He's a very quick healer.

I bet he will feature atsome point while tony is in temp charge I wouldn't hold your breath, the last time Tony was in charge Matt couldn't get a look in over the, er, mercurial strikeforce of Ward and Blake. Says in the LET that he will be on the bench and that Flitty will be in the team.
American Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Funny that this week Gally is injured while previously he was being frozen out...
roversmum Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Funny that this week Gally is injured while previously he was being frozen out... Gally was injured a couple of weeks ago. He was limping quite badly when he came out to do the half-time draw at the ManU match.
Quack Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 1 - 0 to Rovers, a penalty scored in the 3rd minute of extra time Au Revoir GS
