[Archived] Next Rovers Manager

Recommended Posts

Shebby will no doubt be looking for another "old-boy" complete with strings attached. There's no way his ego could accept any self-respecting manager who'd tell him to keep his beak out of team affairs. At least BRAG will be on hand to guide him through the process.

Lose on Monday and expect Shebby to send for Red Adair, or Coyle !

You can hear it now - 'we need an experienced man at the helm'.

There will be panic like there's no tomorrow.

Mercerman, u keep mentioning for Coyle? is this the name you keep hearing from ur sources?

Wouldnt want Coyle.

think we should keep Bowyer in charge for the rest of the season.

when we stay up then see who is interest in the job and whether we want them or stick by GB for next season

O"Neill. Get him in now.

If there was any chance of him coming, snap him up.

However, he's several shades better than we currently are and besides, he'd walk out the minute things started going against him.

Martin O'NEILL!

See venkys knew all along he would get sacked, talk about being canny! we don't have to pay a penny for a new manager now! Good thinking Shebby! ;)

Shebby obv had a word with O'Neill and convinced him to leave the sinking ship that was Sunderland to join the juggernaut that is Blackburn Rovers... :rover:

Why Martin O'Neill? He started off his managerial career very well but in recent years he has been very poor; ask Sunderland and Villa fans.

Surely we can do better than him.

I very much doubt we can.

Guest Norbert

I doubt we can Bazza. He is primarily a motivator, as the first few years at Villa and the first 6 months of his reign at Sunderland show. At a level where tactical genius is less important, he'd be more effective.

We are scrapping for survival amongst the likes of Peterborough, Barnsley and Bristol City with an average attendance of around 13,000

He's out of our league most likely

Think Hughes will be at Sunderland.

We have a some good players like Kean, Olsson, Rhodes etc, a good stadium, excellent training and academy facilities and hopefully a bit of coin. Nows time to let Bowyer stake a claim whilst we analyse whos available.

O'Neill is definatly a good shout, i dont rate him top class but he's a wily sort of guy this club needs.

Nigel Pearson at Leicester, rum ours are he faces the sack unless a top 6 finish....he'd be my bet.

sunderland know how to operate, sack a manager and appoint someone within a week, not like our sorry excuse that they call 'owners'.

David Craig (well respected reporter with excellent NE connections) said that he has spoken to people close to Hughes, McLaren and Do Matteo and none of them have been approached. However he also said that his source at Sunderland said that a replacement has been contacted. I just cannot understand the timing of this sacking. Similar to Reading sacking McDermott it leaves a new manager having to perform miracles to keep them up.

Think some supporters need to get real.

The likes of O'Neil and McLaren, thankfully, wouldn't touch us with a barge pole. In any event, both, IMO, are spent forces, that's if McLaren was ever a force in the first place.

I think we are now shopping amongst 'the bargains' where the desperados, and those whose coin is running out, sit nervously on the shelf as the most discerning shoppers pass by. Then, along will come Shebby on Monday night !

Anyhow, Happy Easter one and all.
