Thanks for the answer to undisclosed fees chaddy, regarding whom id wish to sign. Personally I dont watch enough live games to throw out any names in reply thus I trust the club to get it right, so you can imagine my disappointment when a player doesnt live up to the billing.

We where a mid table premiership club three seasons ago now look at the team. Fair play to fans who remain positive and have bought their tickets in anticipation of the coming season. For me players win you games as a manager and its upto the manager to pick the right ones just dont think GB has picked the right ones suppose time will tell though. Still I cant wait to see these new players play though.

you don't watch enough to suggest who to sign yet you deride every signing as not good enough before they have kicked a ball for the team.

Robben Didnt look to bad in champions league, a young giggs would still easily get into man u team, younger duff would get into most prem teams. Rinaldo ain't too bad. Bale seems to be quite in demand. Pacey skillfull players will always have a place in any formation

Plenty of scope for a decent pacey old school winger in the CHAMPIONSHIP. A bit different in the chess game tactical world of the Prem.

That's also my opinion but i was replying to a poster who said the winger is dead in modern day football. They are becoming scarce in the Prem these days but in the Championship plenty of teams still use them, to good effect, that was my point.

Beanie why do you think he is known as Morrissey in disguise! :D

Can anyone confirm the Cairney loan deal till Jan is it a loan with a view to extend it in Jan/with a view to a permanent deal if he impresses?.

I would be stunned if we signed McClean, looked tidy down the left when he broke into the sunderland team, hard working grafter with strength and pace. Lacked a little end product but so do King and Olssen. Also he has only played top flight so may look a class above in this league.

Cairney and McClean would create goals in my eyes.

Kean

Kane Hanley Kilgallon Spurr

Evans Cairney

Judge Rochina McClean

Rhodes

i think that team could do very well, but it's dependant on Rochina staying, and Evans and McClean joining so a big if.

Henley, Dann, Williamson, Best, King, Taylor, Campbell, Nunes all in reserve looks decent. The problem is the amount of crap that will simply be impossible to shift.

Living in the hull area, I get to several games a season and know lots of hull city fans. Cairney is a good prospect with excellent vision, touch and awareness. However, he is very slow and has a inflated opinion of himself, probably as a result of his initial success when hull were last in the premiership. He is also quite lazy. Evans on the other hand is very good! He may be in a similar mould to other players like Lowe and marrow, but he is far better! He really is a very good footballer and would make an excellent signing and a good investment. He is definitely the better of the two and is well liked and respected amongst the fans.

This isn't a dig, but Jal reminds me of Dangerous Dave.

"OUT WITH THE LOT OF THEM!"

Man, that comment of his cracks me up all the time. Dangerous Dave's comments are fun to read, and while Jal's aren't as extreme, they are also interesting, I guess. At least he's not typing in caps and shouting "OUT WITH THE LOT OF THEM!" or "OUT WITH HENDRY COAR SHEBBY VENKYS SHAW!!" at the end of his every post.

I have just been reading a few Hull supporters sites to get some perspective on Cairney and Corry Evans...

It would appear that Cairney is a ball player and has the ability to control games with his passing range. They wax lyrical about his first season on the PL but there's no doubt that his career has stuttered since their relegation and many comment on him being unable to deal with the physicality of the Championship...based on the fans opinions I'd put Cairney as a "could be good"

Corry Evans is a different prospect IF we sign him. He is an up and down midfielder. Strong in the tackle, energetic but not blessed with Cairneys ability..whatever you read after he signs most Hull fans fully expect him to play in their midfield this season and he was a much valued player in a promotion winning team! - absolute nailed on performer at championship level

Maclean would be an amazing signing especially in the Championship. He has all of the physical attributes to stand up to the rigours of this league and I'd undoubtedly an upgrade on anything we have!!

I believe Bowyers transfer business has been extremely good when you look at the attributes he has brought in for the money it has cost. Love the idea of bringing winning mentalities in to the dressing room in Marrow, Cairney, Evans and Spurr.

It is important that we have a nucleus of determined, hard working young players mixed with the odd bit of pure quality...it's a lonnnnng season and I think it's looking positive overall.

Well done Mr Bowyer

Hopefully Cory Evans deal will be announced later today and then we wait on McClean. It all depends on Celtic, if they decide to buy him then that will be that and we can look elsewhere. If not then there is a chance (if the player is willing to drop into the Championship) we could nab him on loan.

I don't expect anymore incoming transfer after these two as the focus will surely switch to getting players out of the club, I reckon that we could see upto 10 players being moved on.

Wonder what superlatives you and the rest of the championship manager gang where saying when Cameron Stewart signed.

I'm on holiday with a pal who is a Sunderland fan. He rates Kilgallon as a good steady player who'll do well for us. He doesn't rate McClean at all.

McLean is crap. Got a few good reviews when given his chance but only because he was in a p!ss poor side.

Was found out big time last year as a headless chicken with no end product.

That's my Sunderland supporting pal's view also.

Yet somehow you manage to watch enough games to deem all our signings crap

As much as I think McLean would be a good signing I just cannot see it happening. I'm sure Sunderland will let him go but he strikes me as the sort of guy that has a big ego who wouldn't want to drop down a division.

I do also worry about McLean's attitute. The thing about GB's signing so far is that they all have a hard working attitude, not sure McLean fits in that bracket. Perhaps the same attitude problems could have been true of Bannan as well. My feeling with Bannan is that it could have gone 1 of 2 ways. He would either have come here and performed really well OR he would have come here and become another Danny Murphy - a talented player but attitude stinks.

Well at least there is some encouragement to taken from these signings

It is obvious Bowyer is in charge of who is been looked at and brought in. It appears there is no interference from high.

Most signings are sensible ones with experience of this physical league. Most have done well as well, which means in theory you end up with an above average championship team.

The team finally looks at lot more balanced and a darn sight more energetic, hard working. You would think we are going to be a much tougher team to play against.

We finally have a specialist left back.

Cairney should be a big improvement on the performances of Murphy.

Taylor I do believe based on performances at Millwall a good wider midfield addition who is hard working enough to cover fullback, may allow Kane to get forward when possible.

If Evans comes I do think he is an improvement on Jones, you have Lowe and marrow as cover Williamson when fit.

We have options on width from nunes, judge and king. If McClean does come he is an improvement.

Upfront Rhodes, best, DJ and rochina(if he is staying).

When you consider we were 10 points of play offs last year with the obvious issues with the squad, turmoil within the club, there is at least some hope. Let's hope Bowyer is given time.

Let's hope they get in some experienced football people on the board who are left alone to run the club.

Don't take this post as any indication I have forgiven them for the way they have devastated our once proud respected club. I haven't just somehow trying to look for some hope in the mess they have created.

Good post and when put it into perspective we do have what you would now class as a good, honest squad.

If Evans is a leader then he will be vital - Still feeling that there might be a lack of experience. Sometimes you just need that one man who can organise and inspire - make that first crunching tackle. Imagine playing Burnley now. Would we feel more confident going into the game knowing that we have battlers in the squad if nothing else? Think I would.

The absolute key to our season IMO is Rochina. He should be given completely free reign in that hole - Yes he's frustrating, yes he can be greedy, but he is by far our most talented player and really the only on capable of something out of nothing.
