He's said as much himself, that he's not the best footballer but I think if he learns not to be stupid aggressive, and gets used to the league, he'll be a useful squad player. We'll see...

he picks up stupid fouls because he is`nt good enough to read the game,he`s got no awareness, hence he jumps into tackles because he`s a yard behind the play

Are you not placing much hope on him having an improvement in his second season to rival that of Szmodics? 😉

Szmodics was a bit part player 1st season though, and even before that he had shown he had a knack for a goal.
I just haven’t seen anything from henriksson, doesn’t look particularly fast, physical but clumsy physical, and then with the ball it’s heavy touches, misplaced passes and poor shooting…

I mean that sheff Utd og was horrendous and was the catalyst for that collapse

id love to be proven wrong and I’m here for it but I’m really not seeing much thus far

Not sure what to make of the fact that Cantwell has been one of our better players this season but we couldn’t win with him in the team, soon as he injured its back to back wins 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ does he walk straight back in when fit again??

Alebiosu should be playing above this level. His career from coming through at Arsenal hasn't exactly gone as he would have hoped but he's showing why he came through there. People kept laughing when I said he looked an upgrade to Brittain, he just simply is. Bigger, stronger, quicker and a better crosser aswell. Biggest bargain we've found in a while. Fair play to the recruitment for finding him.

The player he skinned for the assist was left back Victor Kristiansen who Leicester signed for £17 million and he got nowhere near him.

£22m RB. £17m LB.

This league is silly.

I think he enjoys being a nuisance, problem is he gets booked too soon. By no means a great player but I think he'll come good.

Yeah he easily starts ahead of Henriksson in this current line-up

He commits stupid fouls though. In the opponents half with the opponent going nowhere. He needs to learn where and when you need to commit fouls on the pitch. He got away without a booking after the first bad foul. However he carried on like that had never happened. You’ve got save the fouls that lead to bookings for game influencing moments, you can’t just toss them away like he does. It’s like he’s playing 30 or 40 years ago when tackles like that were perfectly ok. I like players who’ll put a foot in but it has to be tempered with football intelligence.

Its probably a bit early to judge. Everyone banging on about how bad De Neve is but he's turned out to look pretty handy.

Henricksson like everyone deserves a bit of time

Todays side is certainly very competitive at this level, even allowing for a defence that still doesnt convince me and often a lack of quality both on the ball and in the final third often with poor decision making.

The issue as has often been the case will likely be seen in a couple of months. The squad is not far off fully fit, Carter is out but he isnt a serious footballer anymore, Cantwell is obviously a big miss and Baradji is a total unknown who we signed knowingly with a serious injury.

Even still, look how weak our bench was. Those 3 defenders are our only ones that can play 90 minutes without instantly breaking down, but at some point one will get an injury or a suspension, before even considering quality/form. We have 2 options at left wing back but dont really have an alternative to the excellent Alebiosu.

TGH is unconvincing, but beyond him and Tronstad who are already 1 game from a ban, you have options of Forshaw, Tavares and Montgomery. Exactly. Neither Miroshita or Henriksson has put a strong claim forward although Cantwell is an obvious pick there. And up top, we have only 2 options for 2 positions.

RB is the big problem position - should have kept hold of Duru.

Tyjon has a better chance of getting game time if we employ a front 2. Obviously Gueye should play more too.

We need to sign another right back/right wing back in January

Weird game - kept a clean sheet but som hairy moments and timely offsides plus Toth and Millers interventions 😃

Good attacking play and a striker who knows where to be - felt like they have worked on areas to cross to as well so a little cred to the coaches too

Gudjohnsen played a crossfield ball first half (to De Neve) that was awesome, he holds the ball well last 5-10 mins and he isn’t dreadful at linking play on the ground. Keeps playing like today and he is a good fit for our 2 up top and advanced wingbacks

A comfortable win yesterday.

Why doesn't the 3 players in defence convince you?

Miller is looking a good player and suited to his current role.

McLoughlin looks comfortable at left centre back and solid..

Wharton is probably best suited to the centre role.

The back 3 is suiting the players, better organised and picked 6 points from 2 ganes despite my overall preference being 4-2-3-1 which I think the squad is more suited and what we signed players for.

Why? His he is injury prone?

Cos the squad was build to play 4-2-3-1. Ismael has changed to back 3 and that's seen better performances but also back to back wins.

I think his performances have overall good and puts in a proper shift every game

Work in progress I guess and like I say Yesterday performance wasnt perfect as with better passes or better finishing we could have won by more

Bit harsh on ‘99, this is for discussion not just cheerleading. I’m sure he was delighted with the win, but if he gets mocked for posting his thoughts we may as well have all just posted ‘wasn’t that brilliant’ and then locked the thread.

I must be watching a completely different game to most on here - In a back 3/5 he is never a “left centre back” in a million years in my opinion, it’s essentially a left back position most of the time and he’s incredibly slow, both in general and when turning (Norwich game was a prime example of this and that was in a back 4!)

I think he personally is better suited to a proper CB position with help from LB, but even then I’m yet to be convinced

I’d be concerned going forward anyway, we also had no centre back on the bench, if we persist with this formation then that’s an area we need to be in the market for in January (left sided)

IMO it would be prudent not to grow reliant on TC…

I wouldn’t say he has a better crosser than Brittain. That was the real strong point in Brittain’s game. However Alebioso is better in every other regard. Could you see Brittain having the pace and strength to create our second goal ?

Some of his crosses are dreadful - not knocking him one but, I'm a massive fan, but they are.  I would say Brittain edges it on crossing ability, but for me Alebiosu is a better all round player - his pace is a defenders cheat code.

Of course ‘99 doesn’t have ‘an agenda’, apart from wanting the best for the club, so surprised at that comment.

He’s obviously a passionate Rovers fan or he wouldn’t be spending so much time on here (like the rest of us)

It's not about cheerleading at all. As this is the Leicester thread the focus should be on that and how the game was.

I do get the impression that some are reluctant to praise anything because of their general criticism of the club. I agree there are many, many things wrong at our club but if praise can't be given to the players and staff after a really good win then in my opinion there is an agenda.

There’s possibly nobody harder on the team than me when we play badly but when we play well I’m equally happy to bask in our successes. I really enjoyed yesterday’s game. For me that was more of what Blackburn Rovers should be about. Everybody was playing to the best of their ability and giving 100%. That’s all I ever ask of the 11 on the pitch in Rovers colours.
