rovers11 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Pretty decent day ? Pretty decent day ARGHH I'm just focusing on survival now rather than how we play. We were woeful but in terms of our relegation fight we're not really much worse off (apart from our gd being hit). With the way this league is, I expected Wolves and Peterborough to win and us to be back in thr bottom 3. Instead, we're still 2 points clear with a game in hand.
roverandout Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 that game in hand away again, we never win away from home, what makes you think we can get anything against millwall?
Amo Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Pretty decent day ? Pretty decent day ARGHHWelcome to Blackburn Rovers 2013.
longsiders1882 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Aye we were as @#/? as expected but got a point I didn't think we would get close to. We need a point now from our last 2 games, you probably need 3 from 3. Be surprised to see either if us go down now but still wouldn't rule out one of us going
broadsword Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 As awful as today was, win our game in hand and we're pretty much safe. In fact I'd say one more win would see us through. Getting CKR and Hanley back should help. Please ... you said we were in no danger of dropping. Millwall, they'll do us. Birmingham too. Peterboro ... well it's not beyong possibility that they'll beat Sheff Wed, maybe nick a point at Palace. Wolves, I'd expect them to beat Burnley, possibility of getting a point at Brighton who should be assured of a play-off spot before the last day. Huddersfield should beat one of Bristol City and Barnsley, I think they'll get another 4 points minimum. 55 points needed to stay up. Two draws and we should squeak it on goal difference. But we'll get nothing from our two aways so we have to beat Palace at home. That's the worst case scenario. In any event, it's going to be tight.
gumboots Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I just wish I didn't care, but, however hard I try not to, I still do.
booth Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Another thing to be disappointed about that I've just realized. If we'd have beaten Burnley in both games they'd have a good chance of the drop, both due to dropped points and being demoralized. I hate Venky's.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted April 20, 2013 Moderation Lead Posted April 20, 2013 micheal fish?? Nah, I was meaning 'look at the weather', just using 'man' as a term of endearment....

Be surprised to see either if us go down now but still wouldn't rule out one of us going You're more than safe now longers, 4 points clear of the drop zone, vastly superior goal difference to most teams around you and the majority of the league with only two games left. I don't see the 8 teams below you (excluded Bristol as they're down) all outperforming you. Dingles live to fight another season.
NH1875 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 The only game I think we might get something from is Brum away. They will be well away on their holidays by then and St Andrews will be apathetic and about a 3rd full.... I don't understand why people seem to think we'll beat Millwall, we've played them 3 times this season and haven't scored against them.
longsiders1882 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 If so Clitheroe it will be a stay of execution at best

If so Clitheroe it will be a stay of execution at best I'm not so sure, have you seen who might be coming up from League One?
longsiders1882 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Yeah but we are skint, need a complete new midfield. We will lose Austin in the summer and our next top scorer after him is on 6. More than likely to lose Trippier as well. The only plus I can see is that we've a fair few out of contract so there is an opportunity for the manager to bring in some new faces IF he can find some decent freebies

longsiders1882 Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 He is, and he is still a little way of being at his best. I can't think of a better full back in this division. Be very surprised if there weren't quite a few sniffing around him.
Backroom Tom Posted April 20, 2013 Backroom Posted April 20, 2013 Trippier looked by far their best player today I imagine a few will be keen on him
darrenrover Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 The only game I think we might get something from is Brum away. Hopefully after 3 games you'd like to think the lesson would have been learned not to lump the ball forward at every opportunity for sh1t Shittu to gobble up time after time. But hey what do we know?...
Proudtobeblue&white Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Dingles will probably roll over at Wolves if it helps get us down. A win Tuesday and we stay up, but after today's abject (again) performance, don't have a lot of hope. Givet impressed v Huddersfield but was Kean today. Put him at left back when Hanley comes back. I'm writing the CP review, don't know whether to laugh or cry......or just combust. I think it's two from four now, and we are definitely one!
LDRover Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Two from five surely. Huddersfield are deep in it with their goal difference.
Cherry Blue Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Can you really see us getting the ball beyond Shittu? I'm gutted with today's performance. Best is out (good) and I don't see King as a team player. We have a top goal scorer under utilised and Millwall will have done their homework on how unfit the team is.
roverandout Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Nah, I was meaning 'look at the weather', just using 'man' as a term of endearment.... really?? i would never have guessed i forgot the sarcasm icon!!!
McClarky Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 I think we'll scrape it in the end with even 1 point from he last games but without big changes we will be certs for the drop next year . Basically, if Bowyer gets the mangers job we are going down.
