The Rover of Finland Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 It was always coming so no big deal. Would have been nice to shift even one like mgp, murphy, formica before giving dunny a new deal. Now we may have them all here and can't afford to bring more needed players in.

LeChuck Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Makes perfect sense to keep him. The contract will have been done on our terms so no obscene PL wages like Pedersen etc.
patrickvalery Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I don't care what anyone says. I'm glad he's here for another season. Well done Dunny.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Sorry but for me it's just the latest in the series of foolish decisions made by the club.
rigger Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Sorry but for me it's just the latest in the series of foolish decisions made by the club. I'd rather have him, than not.
patrickvalery Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Sorry but for me it's just the latest in the series of foolish decisions made by the club. Maybe Tyrone. But in my book its better to make a foolish decision and give a local lad who loves the club another years contract than it is to; Employ a Malaysian comedian as Global Dictator. Use Jerome 'Cayman Islands' Anderson as recruitment advisor. Make a fried chicken commercial starring respected pro footballers Employ cousins as wannabe football agents Recruit a shelf salesman as Chief Exec. Claim in a court of law that your company is 'out of control'. Stick by a bald, mouth foaming simpleton even after he achieves relegation at the second attempt Employ 5 (or was it 6) managers in one season. Put a family member on the board of directors and watch as he asks fans opinions on potential signings. I could go on...........
bringdunnback Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Fantastic decision, we need people like Dunny, the heart and soul of this club that man!
Rover_Shaun Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Sorry but for me it's just the latest in the series of foolish decisions made by the club. Re-signing Paul Gallagher could be another one soon. Oh dear.
yellowsubmarine Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Good to see Dunny signing on. Although no longer as fit, he can be the impact player from the bench. As well as the link between the new and old players. I think its a sensible move. Just a year more. I see no harm.
G Somerset Rover Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 To be fair if this had happened this time last year then Dunn would probably have been given a 3 year deal. 1 year on pretty basic terms (you would imagine) seems a good deal to me as he does contribute when fit.
roverthemoon Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Dunny earned his extra year when he silenced the dingles last season.
Stuart Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Fantastic decision, we need people like Dunny, the heart and soul of this club that man! Well you would say that!
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Re-signing Paul Gallagher could be another one soon. Oh dear. Yeah, I agree about Gallagher. He never fitted in previously, why should he now ? Too slow to play up from on his own and not mobile enough to play in midfield. Good penalty box player but we've got Rhodes for that job haven't we ?
Leonard Venkhater Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Maybe Tyrone. That post in all its accuracy is like a vinegar sponge to a man on a cross! Each line is a horror story in itself-a bit like the song "A hard rain's a gonna fall!"
jim mk2 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I would retain Dunn on a pay-per-play basis only. The lad's missed far too many games over the years to get another guaranteed large dollop of the club's cash.
Andy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Poor decision for me. Well, well past it, even by our current standard.
bob fleming Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Happy with the decision. When fit, and lets be honest he was fit last season but some people saw fit not to play him, he's the best central midfielder at the club. I'd rather he was playing for us than our playing against him put it that way. No middle ground on this one is there?
Rishton blue Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Cannot understand anybody who would begrudge him one more year after everything he's done for us as fans over the years. He might not be able to play a full season but when he does things can happen.

I'd rather he was playing for us than our playing against him put it that way. No middle ground on this one is there? The bit in bold is absolutely the key here, IMO. If he stays fit, then we have experience and quality, drive and imagination in our midfield - something we have desperately lacked. I'd certainly sooner have him than Murphy but the question is: can he stay fit?
thenodrog Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Out of our whole squad he is about the only player with the ability to make an impact on a meandering game. If we're in need of a goal to change our fortunes in a game then he is our best option to bring on so I'm glad he's signed on again. Has Jordan Rhodes gone?

Parsonblue Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Highly delighted that the club have signed Dunny for another year. At last some sensible decisions are being taken.
Torgeir Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Makes things happen when on song. Fingers crossed he can sign off with one full season without too many injuries.
ABBEY Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Cannot understand anybody who would begrudge him one more year after everything he's done for us as fans over the years. He might not be able to play a full season but when he does things can happen. Hear hear
