Wheelton Blue
Some supporters will likely be treating this as their 'summer holiday' ie a nice few days away abroad whilst catching a Rovers game or two. The club should have promoted/advertised this well in advance so people can arrange leave from work, sort flights, hotels out etc. and generally make plans. It's poor that the club don't seemingly recognise this.

To recognise this they'd have to have the slightest shred of respect for the fans, which they have shown time and time and time and time again that they do not.

Www.Skyscanner.com www.booking.com Job done ✅ And a quick Skyscanner search will tell you that despite having an employer willing to grant you holidays at such short notice that you are limited on flight options to get to Austria and prices are now upwards of £200. Some more notice even of a couple more weeks would have seen prices substantially lower and more options open.

First its not the middle of the school holidays as they don't normal start to 3rd week in July. yes we have plenty of parents who work at my company and and they will look at taking time off during the summer holidays with their kids but not everyone wants the the first school holiday week off but look to spend it over in the August when the Holiday season will be full low on the 2 weeks notice depends on your bosses and whether others have booked it off. Gav
I don't recall which European away trip it was (CSKA Sofia possibly) but we all booked flights as soon as the draw was made, then John Williams reversed the fixtures which meant we were in Bulgaria for the home game 🤣 It all worked itself out in the end and nobody was out of pocket, Bulgaria was a great trip by the way as were all European trips watching Rovers and England. Because Skyscanner is just a comparison site that all sorts of awful online travel agents use. You are likely to be directed to one of them by Skyscanner.
JHRover
Agree although I've used Skyscanner many times and never had any problems. I've also found it considerably cheaper to book through agents through there than direct with airlines, albeit you don't get the same flexibility and options as you would through the airline. Ossydave
On another note Chaddy, based on your MPG readings quoted last season in your Peugeot, how much do you think it would cost to drive to Austria? 🤔

Aqualung
This friendly game is in Graz, Austria,???? If I was travelling I would fly direct to Vienna. Flights currently £ 240 and above for direct flights. Then a couple of hours on the train down to Graz. Train tickets cheap if booked in advance. That said, for those with plenty of time on their hands, Ryanair from Manchester is offering plane tickets to Vienna from £99 with a stopover both ways. Can't remember what date this friendly is but I used July 18th as a guide.
