Chelsea fan I'm at uni with glumly agreed with this.

He answers one of the ewood e-mails in the programme saying that he wants us to beat Chelsea on Saturday as whilst he is here the only team that matters is the Rovers :rover: It also made me chuckle when reading that he wanted to get his first goal against the dingles so he can 'celebrate with the supporters' which he duly did, class act :brfcsmilie:

Andrews was impressive last night as well, some stunning long passes to create some great attacks and some vital blocks as well. Whoever said he was awful a few pages back simply has no idea. Andrews is a bit inconsistent in my opinion and while he seems to be fairly poor against the better teams, he always seems to shine against the teams we should be beating and I think that's a good player to have in the squad.

Absolute rubbish. He made two good passes all game but was completely absent when Burnley attacked and was passed as if he wasn't there on several occasions. Continually passed the ball to marked men and often direct to the opposition and headed the ball straight up in the air leading to Burnley's second goal. You are alone with your opinion.

Andrews MUST be replaced.

Instant legend status - scores against the inbreds and the jumps in the crowd with the fans. He then goes off to a standing ovation and claps the Blackburn End and then pats his Rovers badge, as if to say 'My heart is here'!

I just wish we could keep him for longer......lets hope that ban gets over-turned for Chelsea.

re: the trouble in the Jack Walker

some idiot Burnley fan decided to get a ticket there (which would have been ok), but then decided to go mental and jump up and down shouting when they scored....which didn't go down too well with the majority, which nearly ended up with him getting in a fight with a good 5-10 people so the stewards escorted him out.

also, did anybody see the replay of Chimbonda getting kicked in the head by their number 11 in the 1st half?

i thought we dominated the game yesterday, from start, to finish. blake's goal was a cracker and after this we settled into the game and duely got what we thoroughly deserved. the two goals could and shlould have been snuffed out, but again bad defending made the game look closer than it actually was. apart from the two goals, i thought our back 4 defended well. i thought morten was excellent, dunny too and franco but for me young nzonzi was fabulous, outstanding performance from a kid who does not understand the derby between us.

In fairness - Andrews was much better than Bikey - who is the new Essien if our 6 fingered neighbors are to be believed.

Not much of a comparison is it? It's like saying being shot is better than being stabbed.

Why has Jacobson been marked down??

I thought he was outstanding yesterday, far better than Keef and Nelsen anyway!!!

Was giving WAY too much space to the Burnley players, especially on the first goal. Did get better after the first 30 minutes or so, but he was Steven Reid like for that stretch.

Usually like him, but far from his best match.

Agreed with that...I'm getting concerned that Jacobsen's honeymoon period is over. He was to blame for the first goal - Blake was his man, is all right foot and has no pace...he should have showed him outside instead of backing off like that.

I'm wondering now if our strongest back four will be: Chimbonda Samba Nelsen Givet

My head was banging at half time.

Just knew they would take the lead - as I said in the comments beofre the match we need to close down and stop then shooting as they are capable of scoring decent goals... doesn't take much does it.

Annoyed and disappointed at our stance in the 2nd half .. don't give a flying pig (jensen) about settling for the win, we had them on the ropes and if we are not confident of putting them too the sword who the hell do we think we can do (it was akin to the Whet spam pittance). We should have put them oput of sight and gave them far too much space and time in the 2nd half, especially in midfield where a slightlybetter side would probably have punished us more.

Yet again we are the dominant side at home and adopt this negative and at times desperate hoofing of the ball.

Thought we also looked knackwered after about 70 mins and it was only Eagles that really caused us any problems.

As mentioned a few times - the referee was as poor as he normally is anyway and what he have become accustomed to seeing at Ewood with regard to soft cards being given to Rovers yet the opposition are allowed to break legs etc

I see Le chuck is still having his love affair with the ref - that was red card all the way , obviously didn't see the incident with Henchoz the other year.

And what idiots at the club allow away fans (especially for this game)in the box behind the most vocal and vociferous part of the ground - with everything that had gone and with even God being stopped from doing the 1/2 time draw and they allow for this

At the end of the day a wins a win especially after the week I had had,but still irks me with our 2nd half stance and their goal at the end took some of the gloss off it.

Eh? How can you say it's a clear goalscoring opportunity when the ball was going towards the corner flag with two defenders in the way? My mates support other teams and usually give a fair assessment of what's going on (i.e. nailed on penalty against Arsenal), general consensus was this was an obvious yellow. That's not what I'm basing my opinion on, I'm using the laws as they are written for that, but does help re-affirm what I think.

Try reading the rule book, you might find the game (and decisions taken in it) easier to watch.

Great game great atmosphere, shame they could nt put canvas over empty darwen end seats to make it look sold out

What was the trouble in JW stand when dingles scored?

Normal order resumed 31 years and counting , the sooner they disappear into the championship and crawl back under the stone whence they came the better

PS 3000 were very quiet

It was singleton dingle in the JW Upper behind me...he didn't last very long and was bundled out just as a number of Rovers fans were about to use another method of ejection.

The only others to jump up wre in the Directors seating area as one would expect.

Lets focus on the result rather than a couple of numpties!!

I'm with Le Chuck on this - it's never a red if you're that far wide of the goal, heading straight down the line and there are two defenders back. If Robinson had been sent off for something similar we would have all been absolutely fuming.

True the football in the second half was a bit hoof, but in the first half we played some very good entertainig stuff I thought.

If the two defenders had have been 5-10 yards further from their goal, then it would have been a red card IMO.

However, they were both in the process of getting back and Roberts had just knocked it toward the corner flag. Therefore, it was not a clear goal scoring opportunity and a YELLOW CARD.

Loved the game best atmosphere I have seen Ewood and even topped Tugays last game

Robinson 7 - Did nothing wrong looked good and confident coming for crosses and 1 great save tipped round the post, nothing he could have done about either goals

Jacobsen 7 - Steady and looked good going forward, should have closed down Blake sooner but I feel we are not doing that enough as a team

Samba 8 - One of his best performances in a Blackburn shirt, didnt put a foot wrong and a great bit of skill dribbling it out of defence a one point

Nelson 7 Commanding steady game

Chimbonda 7.5 - Great well taken goal with his allegedally non existant right foot, defended and attacked well great threat on the left

Diouf - 7.5 Worked tireleslly and hardly ever gives the ball away just wish he would take the defender on more often.

Andrews - 7 - I am not a fan of his and dont believe he is good enough to warrant a start however this was one of his better games and passed pretty well and put in some good tackles. I think he lacks confidence and we need to stop moaning when he makes a mistake. I think with confidence he will be a valuable memeber of the squad

Nzonzi - 7 - looked composed on the ball and am expecting great things from this guy

Pederson 7.5 His best game this season but still a shadow of his self

Dunn 8.5 Played really well great goal great runs, a couple of sloppy passes but even more unbelavable performance as he was suffering from flu (spoke to him after the game and he told me this and was looking really rough

Di Santo 9- Best performance he just keeps on getting better. Works tirelessly and deserved his goal. His hold up play was a joy to watch and bringing others into the game he also had more pace than I first though

I think if we close down better there is no reason why we cant be a top 8 side

Anyone else think it might be idea to Try Chimbonda at left mid with givet left back?

Bumped into some Rovers legends after the game Garner, Wilcox, Gallagher and Parkes.

Also bumped into Alex Fergurson who confirmed what I already thought the man is an asshole.

I said his name 3 times before he even acknolwged me and asked for photo and his said no I have got to go. It was only my brother and me in the area would have hurt to stop for 1 photo?

Come on all that matters was a win...simple as that!

The pressure was on us, they had nothing to lose and then took an early lead...We then battered them and got it back to 3-1. We then simply kept it tight and ensured we didnt concede and early goal in the 2nd. We still created plenty of chances, just didnt stick it away!! Like people said - had Burnley scored at the beginning of the 2nd half then it wouldnt of been very good would it...im sure it worked exactly as Sam wanted (Except for the last minute goal) and it did for me too. Let just be happy with the result instead of nit picking.

As for the above comments on the tackle - there is no way it was a red, he was out wide - heading to the corner with 2 defenders further back in the middle. The only possible red could have been for Carlisle when he flattened Dunn with a strong challenge.

You did me proud lads, all the way to Phuket the fans where a singing.

With the exception of a 3-4 minute period after their first goal you could hardly hear them.

Only two gripe's, Jacobsen/N'Zonzi for the first goal, one of them should have nailed Blake far to much room he must have run 15 mtrs with the ball and no one even got close to him.

Second goal, I have to blame Givet he was having 40 winks, (unbelievable) not what I have come to expect from Gael, everyone is allowed one mistake a season.

Onward and up.

Sweet win by the team, roll on March and another 3 points, we will be even stronger and they will battling in the bottom five. (hopefully).

Andrews did his job yesterday, he did it pretty well too. Blinkered people ignore what he did quite happily. He closed down, tackled and passed reasonably well.

Rovers frailties were shown quite clearly in the game against Burnley. We have conceded goals in the first three minutes and the last three minutes of games at home. Otherwise it was a fantastic performance.
