v Preston North End (h) - 10/11/23

preston fans eagerly awaiting their cup final

they`ve spotted how bad wahlstadt is and are planning to inform lowe (like he won`t already know!)

generally apprehensive about teams like preston, extremely basic, thuggish but massively determined, they are usually our achilles heel,,you only have to look at some of their players to know their approach, hoping for a strong ref and a win for football over ale house tactics before the break

Leo in goal and a potential back 4 of Trav, Hill, Pickering and Brittain suggests Preston will have there usual free reign over Ewood and sail to a comfortable win.

We're also not very good at Ewood this season.

We simply must start fast and aggressive in this and get on the scoresheet first and not let them get a foothold otherwise it could be trouble. Please send the day tripping cup final once a season horde back to Brig, Leyland and Lostock Hall with nothing but misery in their veins.

I think we'll struggle with a makeshift defence and JRC out but Preston got a dodgy pen to get their 3 points yesterday and haven't been great recently.

We've also got the league's top scorer in our team too. I hope he gets a hat-trick.

I’d be more confident with us playing them at their place. We seem to be quite poor at home this season but it’s a Friday night under the lights…Set for a good atmosphere!

1-1 Szmodics

I think they've only lost one at home.

Unbelievably, odds on Preston win are 3/1.

We will barely have a defence come Friday and behind that defence will stand a nervous, error prone, 'draculaesque' goalie.

The aerial bombardment will be akin to America's bombing of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia!

This is some opportunity to fill those Christmas stockings - make the most of it and soften the blow of a PNE win.

They've won once since mid September - I'll pass thanks.

Up the Rovers.

That worked out well for them. A standard joke about the Americans was :

Q :Why weren't the Brits involved in Vietnam ?

A : Because the Vietcong did alright on their own.

Mmmm you had us losing 3 or 4 - 1 at Norwich earlier. If we had kept 11 men on the field we might have won by 5!

Bet against the Rovers? Doubt there are many on here who would ever do that.

Its going to be a real struggle just because of the fact that we have a calamity goalkeeper and only 1 fit centre back meaning that our defence will be totally imbalanced.

A shame because they are nothing special. I wonder how we will adjust the front 4 without having the "luxury" of being able to put a full back in there, will Leonard, Markanday or Sigurdsson come in?

Guess it Rovers win for us.

Preston have won 1 game in 8 whilst we won 4 out of the last 5 games

Not gonna be ideal having a somewhat nervy, inexperienced keeper with a packed Darwen end behind him for half the game. It's football though, he may well save a penalty and score a header on a corner yet.....

That lot seem confident, not sure why, their form isn't great really despite them getting a win at weekend.

Wouldn't like to call it results wise but banging a few in today should help confidence. 2-1 home win.
