Tomphil2 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago 'Feels different' ? I don't know where that's coming from but it doesn't feel much different to normal at Ewood, we are selling players, expecting more to leave and scrabbling around for new signings that aren't all getting over the line. The summer of JDT, The Egg, a new structure and a bit of investment felt different it felt good and it was good for a while until they ruined that. This still feels like winging it to me and there could be a lot of twists and turns yet and actually the only person i have faith in is Ismael and i think he's going to have to perform miracles. 9 Quote

And then they seriously think that the passage of a few months, the summer break, a few new cheap signings and a new season makes it all ok and that we should just forget the events of the last couple of years and move on. Some people might be able to close their minds to it and get on with it but I can't, not when the creators of all the above are still in place. Any changes are superficial and cosmetic whilst the owners and their stooge remain. 3 Quote

England must have historically the largest number of players abroad in its History by a long way now. There were quite a few big names away when we were banned from europe in the eighties. But the quantity of english players across the skill levels on the continent is a really new phenomenon. IMO Spain, Germany and France being so dominant in international football is very closely connected to the sheer quantity of players they have in the Champions League at clubs far and wide. I think those nations are getting 2x + more CL minutes than English players. Hopefully the exodus of english talent will address that balance to some degree. Edit - found this stat leaderboard... Pretty embarrassing that Switzerland and Belgium were ahead of us considering they only had one club each in the CL and they have populations around a fifth of englands.. roversfan99 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I really dont get how showing frustration that Brittain etc should have been offered new deals last year considering that Gestede was here for that time is excluding him from blame. Plus he will be well aware that nothing has changed as we still havent renewed any contracts. Beside extending Ribeiro's strange initial 6 month deal. 5 Quote

They really do take us for mugs, even though it is as clear as day that the only game being played behind closed doors at Ewood since the Venky Curse landed is 'Deckchairs on the Titanic'. 'Women and children first'. "Keep playing, orchestra, to maintain morale". 'No, the ship is Unskinkable', we are merely offloading passengers to conform to the rules at sea when dealing with icebergs.' 'It wasn't an iceberg... it was a snowball.....' Some of us are awake, on deck, and can hear the roar of the ocean pouring in. Sadly we won't be around in 100 years when the wreck is discovered and pored over as a curiosity by whatever passes for football fans in the future. VENKY CRETINS AND THEIR STOOGES OUT!! 12 Quote

philipl Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Weird week ahead. Knowing us, the two players to be signed today won't happen and will drag on. Might have said good bye to Brittain (certain), Pears, Travis and Buckley before we go to West Brom plus some youngsters out on loan. Gut feeling we will have a wild card incoming. Perhaps Mercer on the wing? Quote
Mattyblue Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Heβs been here 14 months. Not taken him long to get on board with the complete BS that emanates from this regime. 1 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Ismael pretty much confirming what a few of us have been saying all along, that these players constantly queuing up to walk despite seemingly being very happy here WOULD have signed if they'd had decent offers early enough and been treated like they were valued here. Not all but some would and what we need to know is who is really accountable for this ? No doubt the hints are laying at Waggots door and him and Suhail are the constants in this so it's one or both of them, my money is on BOTH. 4 Quote

Exactly, Gested was in charge of contracts 1 year ago and still is now. Total bollocks being spoken by Ismael unless he now has the power to do the deals himself. Quote
